Grandpa's grandson
When she waited for her luggage, Ashvin went to get his phone he had stuck in the seat back pocket and forgotten
He had to go back to the gate to retrieve it.
Leela wandered trying to find coffee, and returned with Jayadev holding two cups much to Trisha's horror
It took her a few minutes to collect her composure to even comprehend Leela walking with him towards her
"Tri" "Here is your coffee"
She handed her the cup she held, she was holding her phone and a sack with cookies
Jayadev looked at her stunned
"Thanks... but"
"He offered to bring the coffee... sweet no?" Leela gushed
Ashvin approached them looking at his phone
"Do u have everything?" he asked her
The belt had stopped moving his sister's roll away suitcase and her tote bag and Ashvin's were laying on the side
People were scattering...
"That one is for him" Leela informed Jayadev who was filled with curiosity about Ashvin
"Thanks?" ashvin looked at Jayadev confused
"HE said he would bring it... I had cookies and my phone and my wallet and one coffee... he didnt buy it" Leela scoffed
"sorry... she makes every one around her do her work" Ashvin smiled disarmingly "Ashvin Narang" he extended a hand
Jayadev did not expect a warm hand offered for a shake
"Jay.. Jaydev Shetty" he said swallowing
Ashvin acted like he had heard that name before but was too confused and the announcements in the PA didnt help either
"Well thank you, Jay... Jayadev... " "I offered to buy him coffee, he refused" she told her brother defensively
"Really Lee? Thats rude... he was doing you a favor"
Trisha quietly loaded the stuff on the cart without looking at him
Ashvin handed her the charger cable and plug
"vacation?" Jayadev was nosy
"Umm.. yeah... for a couple days"
"FOR HIM... not me... I am going to be here for as long as she is" Leela waved pointing to Trisha
Trisha to his eyes looked lovely in abrick red ikat kurta and a silver chudidar, her wispy short bob, tied up high
Her neck and hands devoid of any jewelry, her skin smooth as silk her neck long and slender
"Mom has called seven times... what did u do?" Ashvin asked his sister as Jayadev appeared to part, walking by Trisha
"Oh just what u did on the plane"
"u are such a baby" he scoffed
Not paying attention to what was happening behind his back
Ashvin gently leaned and stole a cookie from leela's pouch as she screamed
"Must be nice to have grown kids" Jayadev scoffed, his tone had a sharp edge, scraping her already raw nerves
"U acted like you were saving yourself for me, and that marriage is very pious... only to shack up with a 70 year old man with grown kids"
"they are his grandkids" Trisha said... bravely
Jayadev's eyes gleamed with smug satisfaction
"A grandpa? Huh?" "Nice" he said konkani
Smacked his lips, did a silent clap and walked away just when Ashvin turned as
he talked to his mother to find his wife.. who felt his gaze on her and looked up self consciously.
"Ready to go?" he asked smiling
she nodded weakly
Jayadev had parked himself like 30 feet away and was watching them closely as they left teh airport...
