Mohant finally understand what he did ...what he got...Santharam its nice changed good that he was helping ..Rajput family breaking its bound to happen..Good virendar understand n changed n he got Sree as his son...

Sree's whole gang settle down n happy with their family..Everyone got good closure...

I had already told the idea of Seven Vows was there with me as a teenager itself. If you ask me there were two things that prompted me about this story. One my own great aunt who was a child bride and widow to whom re marriage never happened, second an article in a newspaper where it was mentioned a widow was burned somewhere in Rajasthan calling her a witch. You can say many customs related to taboos regarding widows also contributed to a large extend on the development of this story.

But what I conceived as a teenager was much less than what I had actually brought out in the story, because there was always limitation on the knowledge of life as far as a teenager goes. As you feel problems can be solved faster 😃.

Though Maheswari was envisioned early itself with her background coming from a freedom fighter's family because I felt only those ethos in practice could give credibility to a mother who has lost her son on her wedding day, the characters of Sudeepta and Gayatri were developed later to connect the dots.

I had told when I was writing this story that I have used the concept of Navdurga in this. Though every woman of Seven Vows is a Durga in itself, the way I have taken 9 women is like this. Maheswari, Anusree, Sulakshna, Bhavani on left of Suman as they are constructive and are mothers who gave noble children for the betterment of society, Suman in centre she has the both constructive and destructive qualities. She becomes the medium of destruction of ego in Varma household and pride of Rajput household but at the same time she gives courage for her maternal family to fight the evil and brings the members of her sasural more close emotionally. On the right we have Aleena, Maya, Sudeepta and Gayatri. All these 4 women destroy one aspect of patriarchy in one way or the other. They are destructive forces that play major role in bringing down the evil.

Of course Rudra and Narayan too but they are not absolute as you will see the shades in Sudhir, Sree and Vaishnav in one form or other.
