Saras tells the servant: Call him.

Laxminandan Vyas enters. Saras & Kumud greet him.

Laxminandan to Umrao: You are a courtesan of Galiman right?

Kumud (Umrao): Right

Laxmi: It is better if you leave right away. I want to speak to my son in private.

Kumud to Saras: Bye.

She leaves.

Saras: By insulting Umrao, you have insulted me as well and I didn't like it.

Laxmi: Really? You feel bad when I insulted Umrao but what about my request? I've told you not to meet Umrao but you go to her again and again.

Saras: I love Umrao.

Laxmi: You have become mannerless & have started back-answering me. But remember one thing, the money which you are throwing on Umrao is not yours. It is mine. If I want I can cut you out of my property and disown you.

Saras: Then you are free to do that because I will never leave Umrao.

Laxmi: Fine, I disown you right away. From now on, you have no right to my house and property. I cut everything from you.

He leaves.

Umrao goes back.

Kabir: What is the matter?

Umrao: His dad had come. He told me that he wants to talk to his son for few minutes. I am getting scared. Can you please go there and find out what is happening there?

Kabir: Sure.

Umrao goes to the room.

Kabir to himself: So Umrao is using me to get the news about Saras.

Umrao nervously plucks the rose petals. Kabir goes to her room.

Umrao: Please open up.

Kabir: There is a friction between father & son regarding you. Laxmi has cut everything from him. He has disowned him & even threw him out of the house.

Umrao: Why?

Kabir: Because of his relationship with you.

Umrao cries. Kabir tries to hug her.

Umrao startles: Leave me alone.

Kabir leaves.

Pramad enters. Umrao gets ready.

Khanum: Will Saras come?

Pramad: Yes. I heard that in whoever enters your place will get light in their lives.

Khanum ties him the thread & asks, "Whose service do you want?

Pramad: Umrao jaan

Umrao gives him the paan.

Pramad: Khanum, Umrao's beauty has captured my heart.

Umrao: Tell him that I won't be able to accept him because I have committed myself to Saras & will be loyal to him.

Khanum: I hope you got the answer. Her loyalty towards Saras has tied my hands and legs. I can't do anything about it. I also have other girls like Kusum, Kumari, etc. You can choose any one of them.

Pramad: But I love Umrao but then she loves Saras. I have not left any hope. If God is willing we will meet again.

He gives money to them and said, "Thanks for your time.

Pramad leaves.

Khanum thinks, "He is crooked but very rich.

Saras is at Sunny's house drinking.

Sunny's live-in girl-friend, Jhanvi comes out and said, "This lover is drinking. Please tell him to go.

Sunny: Speak softly. He will hear.

Jhanvi: I don't care. If you don't tell him to leave, I will leave you.

Sunny: Give some time. He will go.

Saras: Sunny, take me to Umrao.

Sunny introduces Saras to one more friend named Danny.

All 3 of them go to the kotha. Sunny gets attracted to Kumari and Danny falls for Kusum at the first sight.

Saras meets Kumud.

Kumud: Did you drink?

Saras: Yes, will you beat me?

Kumud: What are you talking?

Sunny: He wanted to meet you. So, I brought him here.

Kumud: Thanks. Saras will stay here from now.

Both go to the room.

Danny spends time with Kusum.

Sunny spends time with Kumari.
