It was late at night. You could hear the crickets, and a cats. The moonlight graced Kripa's face as she sat in her room. In this silence, something echoed into her ears. It told her how colorless her life was, how loveless her life was, how meaningless her life her. Sahil was asleep, and Betty left. It was very late, Kripa had forgotten to go to sleep. She usually, would be waiting for Angad, but she forgot he wouldn't be coming anymore. So now, she was sitting in her bed, in her tank top and pajama's. It wasn't very cold today, but then again Kripa had lost all feeling a long time ago. She sat there, thinking back to the past…to when it all began for her.

"But, it's not mine", Kripa declared in front of the head master.
"Ms. Sharma, we found the drugs in your bag", the Head Master said.
" Maybe someone planted it there, it's not mine I swear", Kripa cried out.
" I'm sorry, but I cant do anything in this case…you are EXPELLED from this university".

Kripa couldn't do anything, she just got accused of doing, and selling drugs, she just got kick of college, she just lost her whole future, and she couldn't to a thing. She collected her things, and walked to the gates. It was spring time, she was so close to completing her first year of college. But now…it's all over. Tear were falling from her eyes, and she couldn't even wipe them because she was holding a box full of her belonging. It's so funny, how hen trouble comes your way, you have no one by your side. She was now right in front of the gate. The minute she stepped out, she knew her life would be over. The wind blew her hair in front of her face. Bloody nature didn't even side with her. Kripa couldn't see a thing as she took her first stepped outside the university…and suddenly bumped into him.

Everything fell from Kripa's hands to the floor. She was angry now, she yelled out, "God damn, cant you see where your going"! The wind stopped blowing as Kripa saw his face. The first thing she noticed was his eyes, those Satan eyes. They were starring right at her, piercing into her mind and heart. "I'm sorry, and was reading my book…sorry", he said. "Ugh…whatever, at least help me pick my stuff up", Kripa demanded. He did as she told. He even carried her stuff for her. A total gentleman. He wore a black suit and looked as if her was in his mid twenties. Kripa couldn't get over his eyes, they were an unique shade of brown…it looked more like red than brown. That's when Kripa, named him Mr. Devil Eyes. Kripa called herself a taxi, and he packed her things in the truck. Finally just as her was about to go in the taxi, he stopped her. " Hi, I'm Das (Iqbal Khan)", he said as he brought forth his hand for a handshake. Kripa shook hands with him and said, "Nice name…it suits you, Das meaning helper". Das looked at her and smiled. "I'd return the compliment, but I don't know your name yet", he said hoping she'd give him her name and maybe even her number. Nothing like that happened though. "Well I'm not that desperate for a compliment", Kripa said sharply. Das laughed lightly. "Okay, but next time we meet I'll make sure you give me your name and make you desperate for much more than just a compliment", Das said challenging Kripa's statement. Kripa raised her eyebrow, and looked at Das with a grin on her face. "We'll see about that Mr. Devil", she said as she sat in the cab. The driver drove away, leaving Das behind, only to watch her go.

Kripa had no idea what she was going to do now. She had no money, no relatives, no job…heck now that she's got of her university she doesn't even have a place to live. She sat a in the park counting her money. $50.00 is all she had. She used to work in the caf on campus, but now that's gone too. She dreaded the thought, but it was true…at this point she was "homeless". She was so scared, she wanted to cry…well she was already crying. She saw the ducks in the pond, all together like a family. She wished he had a family. Her parents died long ago, and she had no one in this world…no one.

This was so useless, just to sit here and do nothing. Firstly, she needed to get a job. Kripa went around town like crazy. From every restaurant to every grocery store. It was getting late now. The wind was blowing harshly as Kripa fought with herself to get to the next restaurant. She opened the doors and bragged in. "Can I meet the manager please", she said. Kripa walked into the manager's office. He was big and very big. Had a beer belly and was bald. Kripa was scared as hell as she heard the door creak shut behind her. "Howdy, I'm Mac, said the manager. "I'm Kripa, I need a job", Kripa said still scared. Why shouldn't she be, Mac looked like a god damn drug dealer. But he wasn't, he was actually quite nice. He gave Kripa her job. "You'll be a waiter, I actually need someone to work the bar, but you don't look like a chick who knows much about drinks, now do you", Mac said in his Texas lingo. "Oh, thank you sir", Kripa said overjoyed that she found his beer bellied, bald guy on time. Mac opened the door for Kripa, and handed her a uniform while saying, " Call me Mac".

Kripa got into her uniform and started work right away. Her first order. She was very excited about it. "A Margarita on the rocks", she said to the bar tender. As she walked to the person who ordered the drink, she felt her knees get queasy. Maybe she wasn't nervous, maybe it was the pencil heals she was wearing. She walked up to the man and said, "Your margarita sir". He turned around and faced her. Kripa was shocked, the eyes got her again. "You", she exclaimed. "Me", said Das. Das checked her out from head to toe, her black mini skirt, overly revealing white shirt, she looked extremely sexy. "Well, when I first met you I was desperate for your number, now I think I'm desperate for a lot more", Das said while taking a sip of his drink.

Kripa simply rolled her eyes and walked away. Kripa worked until 10 that night. Das sat there, waiting for her the whole time. The amusing part was, he was one that same drink from 8 all the way to 10. Kripa found it very funny. After Kripa got off work, the next tension in her mind was that she didn't have a place to stay. Her stuff her safely packed and put the pack of the restaurant. But what about her? Kripa changed into her normal clothes and was putting on her jacket when Das came up to her. " I noticed, that you didn't eat anything yet", he said. "So?" Kripa was showing a lot of attitude, but Das didn't seem to mind at all. " So, you want to go to eat", Das asked.

After much pursuing Kripa finally agreed to go the dinner. Kripa and Das were silent was he drove though the streets. Kripa was surprised she was even sitting in this car with his man she only knew for half a hour at the most. But for some reason, she was able to trust him, she felt secure with him. Until Das pulled up front of a large apartment. Kripa couldn't believe it, here she was thinking that Das was a gentleman, and here he was pulling up in front of a apartment building. What was Kripa to make of that? She was angry now, very angry. She spoke in a loud voice, "What the hell are you doing?" Das looked at Kripa in a questioning face. He seemed as if he had no idea what she was talking about. " I'm a waiter, not a prostitute buddy", Kripa said. Das was very confused now. " Pros…." he murmured. He looked around, the saw the apartment building and realized what Kripa was referring to. His eyes went wide in embarrassment. "Oh, no…I didn't mean, I don't live here…I…the Applebee's is there, I just parked here", Das said nervously. "Oh", said Kripa. Das was nervous, you can tell he never intended for anything like this to happen. " I can drop you back if you want", he said sadly. Kripa thought for a minute, and smiled at Das. "No, I'm kind of hungry", she said cutely. Das smile as they got out of the car.

That sat in their tables, and ordered their food. Das kept looking at Kripa, he seemed a little uncomfortable after what happened in the car. He kept glancing at her and turning away when she looked. After the food came they started talking. Kripa soon told him her whole situation. Das listened silently. While listening, he kept writing something on a napkin. "What are you doing", Kripa yelled out. Das didn't answer, he kept on writing. Soon after they were done with dinner Das showed her the napkin. It was a drawing…of her. Kripa was flattered, no one had ever made a napkin drawing of her before. "Thank you", she said in a graceful tone. They finished desert, and Das got up to wear his coat. "Wait don't we have to pay", Kripa asked. "I never pay", Das said in a casual tone. Kripa and Das left to the car. While sitting in the car, Kripa asked Das why he didn't pay. The answer shocked Kripa.

"I own Applebee's", he said. Kripa's mouth dropped to the floor. She couldn't even talk. Did he just say he owned Applebee's? "Yeah, when I turned 21, my father gave me my own business for my birthday…he gave me Applebee's", Das was saying it as if it was nothing. Other people get cars, or an I pod on their birthday's, Das got a business! "But your still in college", Kripa asked. "I know, I run it part time", Das said. Kripa was shocked, Das owned Applebee's. On their drive, Kripa finally got over the fact that Das owned Applebee's. Kripa was now thinking about where she was going to go after Das dropped her back. She had no where to go. But Das didn't drive to the restaurant. He drove someplace else, to this apartment type place. "Here", DAs said handing Kripa keys.
" What's this", she asked. This was Das's apartment, well one of them. He didn't live here anymore, so why not let Kripa stay here. At first Kripa hesitated. Then, once again after much persuasion she agreed.

After that night, Kripa and Das meant frequently. Das became Kripa's best friend. They would go out to dinners, Das would be Kripa's best customer and always gave the best tips. Kripa loved being with Das, it wasn't because of the expensive restaurants he took her, or the Tiffany jewelry he gave her…it was because he was so pure at heart. So clean…that's why she love him. One day, they were at Kripa's apartment….well Das's apartment where Kripa was staying. Tonight, they decided to eat at home. They cooked together, and ate together. It was a warm night. Everything felt so warm and happy. Kripa and Das were standing in the balcony, drinking their wine and staring at the moon light. Das turned to Kripa, she looked so beautiful. The radiance of the moon made her face glow just like it. Kripa felt his stare as turned to him. They were both silent, as they knew their eye's wee doing all the talking. Das slowly felt Kripa's face, caressing with her hair. They slowly moved closer to each other…very close. Kripa felt his mint breath on her face. Slowly their lips collided, and they kissed. Their first kiss. Everything was perfect. It was very light at first, then the kiss became very passionate. Das entangled his fingers in her, and pined her the balcony wall. Kripa could feel his teeth with her tongue. They were smooth just like him. Soon they broke away from the kissed, both breathing hard. They didn't know what to say…and so they didn't say anything.

Das said bye to Kripa, and left through the door. Kripa closed the door, and stood there until she heard a knock. Quickly she opened the door, and Das rushed in a kissed her passionately again. This time he spoke. " I love you Kripa", he said out of breath. Automatically started crying. Das was nervous again, did he say something wrong? Why was she crying? Sweat grew into Das's forehead. While crying Kripa spoke, "I love you too". Das started laughing as he kissed he again. Kripa hugged him tightly never wanting to let go. He wiped he tears away with a kiss. They laughed together. "Well, I should go now", Das said. Kripa nodded gesturing a yes. Das left and Kripa jumped around the room like a teenager.

And so the love story of Das and Kripa started. They were madly in love…desperately in love. Yet Das was a noble man, he knew not to cross his limits. Soon after Das's graduation from college he called Kripa to the beach. Kripa thought that he wanted to celebrate. But he called her for a different reason. " What's up?", she asked. Das seemed very serious. The water made all these strange noises. The wind blew, and the sun warmed the sand Kripa was standing on. Little did she know, in one second Das was about to pull the ground underneath her. Das went on his knees, looked Kripa straight in the eye and asked her, "Will you marry me Kripa Sharma?" Kripa had lost all power to think at that one moment. She just stood there still. " Kripa?", Das asked nervously. Kripa stated tearing again. "Yes", she said in a low voice. Das was overjoyed. He hugged her and told her how much he loved her. Kripa couldn't believe it, she was getting married and that too with Das, the man she loved the most in life.

They had a very small wedding, only a few close friends were invited. That's how Kripa and Das both wanted it. Kripa wore a beautiful white dress, and Das wore a black suit. They had a registered marriage. Neither of them wanted to go into all the details. And now came the challenge, meeting Das's father. Das didn't care to even tell his father that he had gotten married. For the past two years, he and his father had been on a no talking terms. Das lived his life the way he wanted to, and his father the way he wanted to.

It was a stormy night, the thunder was loud and the rained poured strong and hard. Das gathered all the courage in him, and took Kripa to his fathers house. The maid let them in. The house wasn't a house, it was a mansion. Huge and wide. Das said that his father was inspired by Queen Elizabeth's castle. The lighting gorged as the man came into the living room. He looked old, and very mean. And that's just how he was, old and mean. "She just married you for your money Das", he yelled out in his stern voice. You could tell Das had a horrible childhood with this man. He called Kripa the worst of names, and told Das how stupid he was to marry Kripa. Kripa was crying, which just made Das even madder. Enough was enough, Das took Kripa and left the house swearing never to come back in this hell hole.

It was Das and Kripa's wedding night. Das felt terrible to have made Kripa go through all those insults. He went up to her and said he was so very sorry. " It's not your fault your fathers stinks", Kripa said. Das laughed and hugged her. "We don't need his approval, we love each other, that's all that matters", Das assured Kripa. Das and Kripa kissed. Then Das put his hands around her back, unzipping her dress. For so long they had been waiting for this day, to become one. Kripa felt Das kiss her neck and shoulder. They fell on the bed, kissing each other. Kripa kissed Das's chest, and then his lips again. There was something different about tonight…something soothing. Yes, they were married.
Time passed, as Das and Kripa grew into each other as husband and wife. Kripa was never happier. Of course, she never went back to college, or work. She became a house wife, and she was happy in that. Das's business soared high. A year passed of their marriage, and one fine morning Kripa received the best news of her life. "Das, I'm pregnant", she revealed to Das. At first he was in total shock, but then he slowly let it sink in. Never had Kripa seen Das this happy. He went crazy in joy. Soon he filled the whole house with toys and God knows what else. He sure was happy.

9 months later, Kripa gave birth to a little boy. Das named him…Sahil. Now life was perfect. They were the happiest family, Das, Kripa and Sahil. When Sahil was 2 years old, Das went to a trip to California. He owned a factory there, and went for a visit.
: Take care of yourself", Das commanded to Kripa. "I will love", Kripa said as she kissed him goodbye. Sahil ran into Das's lap, and Das spun him around with him. Kripa laughed, Das always acted like a baby when he was with Sahil. " I love you baby boy", Das exclaimed. He put Sahil down, kissed tem both good bye and whispered into Kripa's ears, "Maybe, when I come back we can work on baby number two". Kripa and blushed at the same time. They waved Das good bye as he drove away.

Das was working very hard in California. Keeping an overview of the factory. One day, around 2 he was very hungry. He told the assistant that he was gong to out for lunch for half an hour. Just as he was leaving…it happened. One of the fuel tanks was open, and a spark landed near it. In a blink of an eye, the whole factory went on fire. There were no survivors. The horrifying news reached Kripa and suddenly everything fell into oblivion. Nothing made any sense anymore. Das's best friend Rehan was there my Kripa's side, and she had Sahil…but everything just seemed so lost. Das, her husband had died. That's not where it ended, it seemed as though Kripa wasn't the beneficiary for Das's life insurance. All of Das's property was given to the trust. Why would Das do that? Kripa had nothing, how was she too raise Sahil? Perhaps somewhere in Das's heart, he felt that Kripa only married him for his money…perhaps.

It only got worse, Sahil's grandfather, filed for Sahil's custody. He said that without Das's money Kripa couldn't raise Sahil properly, and the fact the Kripa was accused of doing drugs on college didn't help the situation. Kripa couldn't lose Sahil! Not the creepy man. She knew Das would never want that either. She didn't know what to do anymore. Time was nearing, and Kripa was going to lose Sahil. Until that day. "Kripa, I think I found a solution", Rehan said into the phone. " Oh please Rehan, anything! I cant live without Sahil", Kripa cried. Rehan came to Kripa's house. " What's your solution", Kripa asked. And that's when Kripa first met him. A look alike of Das. Angad Khanna…

-----END OF FLASHBACK

Kripa sat in bed, with her eyes full of tears. How dearly she missed Das, her Das. Oh much she regretted living this life. Kripa sat, with the moon at her witness and cried her soul out.
