Chapter 217- The Vaccination Plan, The Challenge

It was Sunday and the Varma family was busy in daily chores after the breakfast. It was Suman who noticed Meenakshi at the door. She was wearing a saree she had bought from Rashee.

" Meenakshi didi. Come inside, why are you standing there. Maa the new doctor in our government hospital is here " called Suman as Meenakshi walked into the hall admiring the beautiful house.

" Namasthe Doctor Sahiba. What made you come here " asked Maheswari as she came in and gestured Meenakshi to take a seat.

Meenakshi smiled " Maaji when I had gone to Rashee, I had told your bahus I need their support in running a vaccination campaign here. If people who have vaccinated their children speak it will help us doctors to conduct it smoothly. Many people don't take vaccinations due to irrational fears and superstitions. So I just came to check whether they can support me and also to let know of a good place to conduct the camp"

" Meenakshiji the best place for you to conduct the camp is Somalatha Devi's ashram. She is a religious person, but does not believe in superstitions. You having her support will yield better results. Maa I think you can speak to Somalathaji" came in Sudhir.

" Yes Sudhir that's a good idea. I will certainly speak to Somalathaji. Doctor Sahiba.."

" Call me Meena Maaji" interrupted Meenakshi.

" Meena beta plan to conduct the camp in Somalathaji ashram. Don't worry I will send my bahus with you and take this Sreedhar and Aakash also. He can provide logistic support. Sreedhar call Vaishnav and Rakesh also. We cant allow Somalathaji to handle everything" told Maheswari. Meenakshi looked at Sreedhar who was grinning.

" No issues Maa. At your service Meena didi. But then I need a favour from you. Bhaiyya don't you think Meena didi can be the fourth person we need to implement what Ankush Bhaiyya has told us " asked Sreedhar.

" Yes Sreedhar I completely forgot it. Yes she is a doctor. So Meenakshiji can you help us here "asked Sudhir and then he told Meenakshi their proposal.

" That's a big honor Sudhirji you all consider me part of this thing. Yes I very much would love to lend support. I would say it is much needed. " told Meenakshi. Then they had some general talk and Meenakshi bade goodbye. She so very much wanted to tell Suman the truth.

Ankush was being received in small alleys. The places from where he had support as a student leader. Many of them were happy to see him back. It was all under privileged families who resided in brick and mortar shapeless houses. He had told the party he wanted to start the campaign from the places that had made him a leader in first place. After receiving appreciations, garlands and also having lunch with the family of one of his comrade, Ankush decided to go to Shobha's family.

It was a hard journey for him as he took each step towards her house. He remembered Shobha the girl whom he had loved. Her infectious smile, her trepidation to take his love letter. Then her marriage and.. He stopped, he didn't wanted to think that. He pressed the calling bell and the door was opened by a young man.

" Ankush Bhaiyya. I knew you will come here. I had told Maa you have not cheated Shobha didi. Maa told if that's true, you will come here and face her"

" I had come to meet her only Karan. To take her blessing, so that the Ravan can be slayed this Dusshera. Without her blessing this journey is not possible"

" Beta you have come. Let me make some badam kheer. Sit. " came in Shobha's mother, who looked happy, relieved seeing him.

Ankush told his workers he need some private time with the family and he will meet them in party office for next round. Once they went, Ankush told about the tough choices he faced and also the reason he has come back to Shobha's mother and brother.

Soon it was time for him to leave and Ankush took blessings of Shobha's mother and as he walked across the street toward party office, he saw his father and elder brother coming from opposite side.

" You have come to win election against me " mocked Aravind Setia at his son.

" Bauji I have come for the truth. I will see to it that this time truth wins" told Ankush.

" Big big claims. You were saying the same 13 years back, what happened then. It will happen now also. You are weak hearted to play politics" told Aravind Setia.

" Bauji I am not weak hearted. Strength is not shown to women Bauji. Fight with me like a man Bauji and let us see who wins" told Ankush.

" What are you telling.." Aravind Setia tried to slap his son.

" Bauji why are we wasting time on him. Let him fight. We all know who is going to win", told his elder brother

" Yes Bhaiyya say we all know what will win ultimately. The truth" he gave them a mock smile as they crossed each others path to walk in opposite direction.

Haha I love the taunt Ankush gave to his dad.. the guy who is of the mentality that being a man he's superior.. his own son taunts him on being a man... waiting for the plan to unfold.. did Sree and kailash speak to each other?

Nice one Shruthi. Ria it's with great pain that Ankush could taunt his father. A person like him doesn't enjoy taunting others and it was by force and by choice he had to do that to his own father. It's with disgust he asked his father to think and act as a man by virtue and by mere by birth.

@Ria yes only Ankush can bring down Aravind Setia. Because his son standing against him will emotionally weaken Setia. It is mind game after all

@jaya that's why Ankush stayed away from politics. He knows how dirty it is. He has experienced it. The bargains, the deals. But then situations, his family and the need to know about the truth of what happened to his friend forced him out in the battle field. In the battle field there is no option. You have to battle it out.

Sudhir will be the krishna who gives the bhagwat gita gyan to ankush when ankush has to give the fatal blow to his father? or is there more for Rajashekar to grow? And what about Maheshwari leaving the responsibility of handling the house to one of her bahu? I think u said even her know it all attitude will be shattered.

Beautiful, Meenakshi will not join the force to canvas for Ankush but she was needed to support People like Suman's Bhabhi to save their unborn daughter. As a doctor, she could be of great help in that step.

@Ria Varma family is involved in the campaign, obviously somethings will happen. You know right Villians can fall to any ugly leve for winning😆😆

So the battle lines have been drawn, great!!! I was expecting acid attacks as part of the campaign, but that has already happened, so let's see what the villains plan. Maya's agents probably will be better prepared this time.
