Suman has 7 brothers. 8th is Gautham, 9th Kailash. Vaishnav as such I have not planned anything but he is part of Rakhi day😃. Rakhi belongs to Rakhee😃

Chapter 206- You Betrayed

It was Rakhi day. Everyone was happy as they prepared for Rakhi. Suman was observing Rakhee. Though she tried to be happy Suman could see that there was an underlying tension within her. Was Sreedhar's suspicion right. Did she get some info on them. But then it was time for Rakhi. First Aakash and Adwaith sat while Poornima and Nami did tied the Rakhi for them. Poornima was beaming when she performed the ritual.

" Aakash, Adwaith do you know how happy I am today. This was one festival in my life which my friends celebrated and I had nothing to celebrate. Do you know how much I had yearned for a brother and how happy I am to know I have two wonderful brothers" told Poornima as she took the aarti for her brothers.

Aakash and Adwaith gave her gift while she fed them sweets. Then Nami performed the ritual.

" Beta your mother always tells this every year. But this year I am reiterating it. Always be there for each other. Whenever you see a man insulting a woman always think about your mother and your sisters. Stand up for what is right. Also never insult another girl with your word or deed. If you do that your Maa will think she has failed to impart right manners to you" told Renu.

" Maa don't put such big things on their head. My brothers are responsible " told Poorni and everyone laughed.

Then Tilak, Sudhir and Sreedhar sat so that Rakhee can do the ritual. Though Rakhee did the ritual cheerfully for Tilak and Sudhir, when she came to him Sreedhar could feel a hostility in her eyes. He felt she was doing the ritual for the sake of it. He didn't know what was she thinking. Rakhee was very much attached to him. But he didn't tell anything.

After lunch Rakhee told Sreedhar that she wished to visit Vaishnav and whether they can go to his haweli. Sreedhar agreed to take her. Suman looked at Poornima.

" Suman Chachi. Come we will also go . You know I love the garden there. It would be really nice to spend some time there" told Poorni understanding what Suman wanted.

Suman agreed and asked whether the other kids were also coming. But Aakash told they were going to the neighborhood house to play.

As usual Poorni sat in front when Sreedhar took the car while Rakhee sat with Suman. Suman tried to talk with Rakhee but she was distracted and appeared a bit impatient too.

They reached Haweli, met Vaishu and had chit chat with him. Then Rakhee told she want to see Haweli. Vaishu told they will go together. Haweli was big with long corridors. Though they started as a group, once they reached a secluded place Rakhee told that she wanted to talk something to Sreedhar. She came here because at home she cannot ask things. So will it be fine for Vaishu if she stayed there and talked with her Sreedhar Bhaiyya. Sreedhar could see that the " Bhaiyya" came with a sarcasm.

Vaishu, Poorni and Suman agreed as they moved away from that spot, while Rakhee moved with Sreedhar to the room on the far corner.

Though Suman walked with Poorni and Vaishu she stopped mid way and told " Poorni, Vaishu you go, I need to hear what Rakhee speaks to Sreedhar." Poorni and Vaishu nodded as they moved ahead, while Suman turned back and hid behind the door where Rakhee was talking with Sreedhar.

" What is that you wanted to talk with me Rakhee " asked Sreedhar.

" You don't know Bhaiyya or you are pretending you don't know. You have been always hero to me Bhaiyya. I have had respect for you. I had always believed you will stand up for what is right. But you gave me the shock of my life Bhaiyya."

" Rakhee be clear what you want to tell "

" You betrayed Suman Bhabi right Bhaiyya. You knew she was going to get married to Murali Bhaiyya. But you didn't tell her and went to US allowing her to be married to Murali Bhaiyya. Now I understand why Bhabi was silent after the accident. She was not disoriented. She never wanted to marry Murali Bhaiyya. But you wanted to sacrifice for your brother and allowed her to be a scape goat. Whatever you are doing now is just to assuage your guilty conscious"

" Who told you this Rakhee " asked Sreedhar his eyes was brimming with tears.

" Do someone need to tell me this. I had gone to my friend Kashi's place. If you don't know she is the sister of your batchmate Krithika. She showed me some photos from Krithika di's album where your photo was there with Suman Bhabi celebrating Valentine Day. Then there was another group photo where you and Suman Bhabi were standing close. I asked Kashi casually about you two. She told her sister had told her you both were in love.

" So it is clear right. You very well knew before going to US Murali Bhaiyya was getting married to Suman Bhabi. Because the marriage was fixed you wanted to have a good image in front of the family so you asked Suman Bhabi to marry Murali Bhaiyya. You told her you had no other go, you cant marry her. That was why Suman Bhabi married Murali Bhaiyya. Now she is suffering mutely a lonely life. You feel you have done great by opening a shop for her. She wont ask anything from you and you can very well go ahead and marry another girl. You are a coward Bhaiyya. Poor Suman Bhabi. I pity her for loving a man like you who..." before she could complete the sentence Rakhee felt a tight slap on her cheek. Rakhee looked up to see Suman standing there, her eyes blazing with fire. Sreedhar tried to intervene but Suman gave him a fierce look and he stopped.

" Bhabi..." Rakhee tried to tell.

" Who are you to question your Bhaiyya's love. Who are you to pass judgement on him. I am here Rakhee. Before telling such poisonous words to your Bhaiyya you should have asked me. But no, you saw some photos and you made your assumptions."

" Bhabi isn't it truth that you have settled with what you have got and of couse Bhaiyya will go ahead and marry someone and you wont complain " told Rakhee fiercely.

" Are you the one who will decide who your Bhaiyya will marry. Then hear this clearly Rakhee I have told your Bhaiyya I want to live with him because I have only loved him and he has promised me that I will live with him, as his wife because he loves me and in this life no other woman will take that place in his heart. "

" Bhabi but.." Rakhee was unsure now.

" Go Rakhee. Ask Poorni and Vaishu about us. They know. They will tell you the truth of what happened between me and your Bhaiyya. Now I want to be alone with your Bhaiyya"

As Rakhee retreated Suman went near Sreedhar who was crying. She made him sit beside her.

" Sumi I am sorry. I am terribly sorry Sumi. When Renu Bhabi told Murali Bhaiyya was getting married to Suman, I didn't ask bhabi the surname, just asked her to give the phone to Bhaiyya. When I teased Murali Bhaiyya I didn't ask him what was his would be bride doing, but how she looked. I didn't feel the need to ask Sumi. You were near me. How could I think of your marriage. Suman is not a unique name. Another girl can also have it. "

" Did I ask anything to you Sreedhar. I don't need any proof Sreedhar. I know you. I know how much you love me and believe me if anyone comes questioning your love for me, they will first have to cross Suman. I love you Sreedhar. Please don't cry" she held his hand. Sreedhar looked at her his eyes full of love and respect for her. Her eyes told him how much she respected him. He held her hand back and they sat there in silence.

God i just can't stop feeling very happy. Awesome awesome awesome. I am sure that there will be a smile lingering on my face for the night. N this will suffice for the weekend. Thank u Sruthi for an amazing update

Wow Sree has such an amazing rapport with Rakhi for her to allow her to speak like that to him.. and am glad Rakhi wishes Suman and Sree to unite.

Another wicket is down. Waiting to see how her trip continues. Will she stay for a few more days? I love the relationship of a brothtn sister. I find that too pure. Too much of love n unconditional support. What about tilak n renu. No more shak aaj kal? And MV I just wish she fast forwards her plans . I know a little too greedy but kya karoon raha nahi jata hain.

Swati Renu and Tilak are too busy to think about anything. Renu with shop, Tilak with ED, issue , then business of course, their plates are full at this point. Now of course Ankush will make entry and political drama😃. I have to plan some great dhamaka for Mahantji and co for Diwali 😉

Chapter 207- The Trust, The Resemblance

Rakhee came to Suman's room post dinner. Suman was standing near the door. She sat quietly on the bed

" Did you apologize to your Bhaiyya" asked Suman.

" Yes Bhabi I apologized to him. I am sorry Bhabi but if you don't mind I do have a question in mind. Can I ask you" told Rakhee.

Suman went and sat near her caressing her cheek. " Rakhee I am sorry I was so angry with you, I cannot take it when someone berates Sreedhar's love for me. But that doesn't mean you cannot ask your question to me. I know you will have. I will try to answer in the best way possible "

" Bhabi do you really believe if Sreedhar Bhaiyya had known you were getting married to Murali Bhaiyya, he would have still held your hand letting go of the family prestige"

"Rakhee this is where you don't understand your Bhaiyya. You know what is your Bhaiyya's biggest problem as well as his greatest strength. He cannot let go of any hand that he takes. So he tries to find a way to take care of everything. Rakhee I don't love Sreedhar because he wins every time. I love your Bhaiyya because he tries to bring a smile to everyone who trusts him even in the most tiring circumstances. His tries are always honest, earnest. He just want everyone to trust him. Believe him that when the mess is cleared everyone would be happy. So if your Sreedhar Bhaiyya had known I was getting married to Murali Bhaiyya he would have tried to avoid it. He would have put his earnest effort to ensure he neither leaves my hand nor the family prestige is affected. He would have just wanted me to trust him and follow him. I believe when the intend is pure, effort is earnest, Mata Gowri does show a way. I hope this answers your question" told Suman. Rakhee nodded and hugged Suman. Suman asked her to sleep as she has to get up early next day to catch the first bus to Delhi.

Gautham sat in front of his hostel as he fondly looked at the Rakhi in his hand. As he caressed it, he thought about the first Rakhi he had celebrated with Suman in the college.

" Gautham Bhaiyya see this year I have not gone home for Rakhi because you both wanted me here" told Suman looking at Kailash and Gautham.

" Well Suman even I have not gone home. My two sisters at home are angry but I want you to tie Rakhi for me this year. So I have asked my sisters to send postal Rakhi's" told Kailash.

" Why you need an additional sister Kailash" told Gautham.

" Asking somebody to be a sister is only for those who doesn't have sisters. Arrey I am having an additional sister not additional wife" shot back Kailash.

" Stop it idiots. Allow her to tie Rakhi " told Sreedhar.

Suman did the rituals and then tied Rakhi for both of them. Gautham gave her a Parker Pen as gift and Kailash gave a big Diary Milk family pack.

" Diary Milk, this is my favorite chocolate " told Suman as she teared opened the packet

Gautham continued laughing when he remembered how Suman's face was chocolate laced and how much she looked a child devouring that chocolate pack.

" Why Gautham Sanyal laughing alone, share the joke I can laugh too". Gautham looked up and saw Mandavi. He suddenly got up

" Madam you here, this late"

" I was just taking a round Gautham a bit delayed today as I had to finish some work. So what is the joke"

" Nothing Madam. I thought about my sister. Today is Rakhi right"

" Oh yes, you have a Rakhi in your hand. Memories of good times with sister. Enjoy. Sometimes it is nice to think about family in this hectic schedule. That will help to de stress. Good night"

" Good night Madam"

As Mandavi walked away Gautham was in deep thoughts. Mandavi madam had an uncanny resemblance to Suman. He had always wanted to tell Sreedhar about it. But his hectic training schedule never allowed him to talk to Sreedhar freely. Even calls to his home were quick. But today seeing Mandavi Madam once again Gautham decided he has to speak to Sreedhar in the next available opportunity.
