"Wo bhi agar chahein to mujhey Rajveer karke bula sakte hain!",
says Rajveer looking towards Naina without any hesitation.
(Fast Rajveer-Naina tune begins as they stare each other)
Unwillingly, Dr. Shalini, lowering her eyes, clears her throat to remind them of her presence there.
"Chaliye apke tests kar lete hain",
suggests Dr. Shalini, smiling.
Lowering her eyes out of shyness, Naina says, hesitantly,
"Ahmmm... main bahar wait karti hun..."
As she was about to get up, Rajveer holds her hand which is holding the handle of her chair, as she puts pressure on to it in order to get up. His touch sends shiver down her spines. She turns to look towards him, all flushed up.
(Fast Rajveer-Naina tune begins)
Nervously she looks towards Dr. Shalini and tries to get out of his hold simultaneously.
Ignoring her protest, Rajveer turns to look towards Dr. Shalini and asks her permission,
"Doctor would it be fine agar Naina bhi yahan rahe to?"
(Fast Rajveer-Naina tune begins as it comes as a shock for not only Dr. Shalini but Naina too, his demand!)
"Ahmm... sure Raj. Agar apko Cadet Singh ke yahan rehne se koi problem nahi hai, so mujhey bhi nahi hai",
assures Dr. Shalini, smiling.
She adds further,
"In fact Naina agar yahan rahegi to na hi sirf apko strength milegi but wo mujhey assist bhi kar sakti hain! Right Naina?",
smiles Dr. Shalini.
Naina smiles a little, nervously. Slightly feeling embarrassed that Rajveer held her back. Dr. Shalini places a hand on her shoulder and blinks her eyes, as a gesture of assurance that it's absolutely fine.
Soon they complete with the check up. Naina helps Rajveer to get out of the stretcher where Dr. Shalini asked him to lie down. As Dr. Shalini returns back to her seat, she smiles; her heart swells on seeing Rajveer and Naina together.
Her heart swells as she realizes how they are providing strength to each other silently. Naina by helping him is telling him that he doesn't have to worry about anything, this time she is there with him to help him, to fight with these ordeals and also to provide strength to him. And Rajveer is providing her strength by conveying to her silently that he is fine, she doesn't have to worry. And also that, even today he is always there for her to help her in any way possible.

As they sit back on their respective seats. Dr. Shalini smiles and says,
"Captain... oops! I mean Raj...",
smiles Shalini, sadly. She doesn't like this alteration. Why does he have to do this?
Naina understands what Dr. Shalini must be feeling because that's exactly what she has been feeling all this time. She smiles sadly looking towards Dr. Shalini. Dr. Shalini reciprocates the gesture.
Rajveer smiles, lowering his eyes then looks back towards Dr. Shalini, demanding silently from her to continue.
"Ahmm... I don't know whether you'll be comfortable or not, but... can I know ki apke saath kya hua jab aap academy mein...",
Dr. Shalini takes a deep breath to control her emotions. Lowering her eyes, she completes the line,
"... academy mein nahi the!"
Naina looks towards him to know if he is comfortable? Smiling, looking towards Dr. Shalini, Rajveer replies back,
"Sure doctor!"
Not willing to let him go through all the pain he went through while dictating the story to Brigadier Chandok, Naina takes the charge to recite the story up till she knows.
"Main batati hun..."
Soon she completes then turning to look towards Rajveer, she says,
"Iske agey mujhey bhi janna hai!"
Smiling, Rajveer takes the charge to continue with the story.
"Main samjh chuka tha mujh par jo Major Shakti Chandra ke khoon ka ilzaam laga hai, usse main khud ko kabhi nahi bacha sakta. Mujhey ehsaas ho gaya tha ki Naveen bhi issi daur se guzara hoga jisse main uss waqt guzarr raha tha!",
saying that Rajveer turns to look towards Naina with sorrowful eyes.
Naina lowers her eyes as she remembers her brother and her heart aches, but it takes her moments to return back to normal, she won't break or drift her mind from the situation in hand. Rajveer needs him right now and she will provide all her support to him.
With full confidence in her voice, she asks,
"Fir kya hua?"
Rajveer by her determined voice gets assured that she is fine. Smiling a little, he continues,
"Maine taye kar liya tha ki main itihaas ko dubara dauharane nahi dunga! Uss baar main majboor tha Naveen ke haathon; dosti ka waasta dia tha usne...",
he says, spitting venom through his last line.
Naina and Dr. Shalini understands what he must be going through right now. They know it is not his hatred towards Naveen, but his immensely love and respect for him that's speaking those words. A knot forms in Naina's throat.
"Naveen ko apni baatein manwani bohot achey se aati thi!",
says Dr. Shalini, out of blue, smiling as she remembers an incident.
"Janti ho Naina, ek din hum cadets ko off day mila tha. Kaha gaya tha ki aaj KMA ke cadets bahar jakar time spend kar sakte hain".
Chuckling, she continues,
"Mera bilkul mann nahi tha kyunki meri ek choti si argument ho gayi thi Raj ke saath..."
Rajveer chuckles too as Dr. Shalini mentions that and bows his head out of shyness.
"Maine saaf inkaar kar diya tha ki agar Raj gaya to main nahi jaungi!"
"Naveen mere paas aya, tab main ek class mein akeli baithi hui thi, gusse mein. Usne mujhse aakar kaha ki wo bhi ab kahin nahi ja raha. Hum dono yahin rehte hain aur janey dete hain Raj ko akele. Waise bhi humein kya farak parhta hai, Raj jiske marzi saath jaye, jo marzi kare!"
"Uss waqt mujhey khushi hui thi ki ab Raj akele hi jayega, in fact shayad jaye hi na, kyunki mujhey pata tha ki wo hum dono ko chor kar nahi jane wala"
Rajveer and Naina chuckle, listening to Dr. Shalini.
"Fir shuru hua Naveen ka melodrama!",
says Dr. Shalini, grinning.
Rajveer and Naina grin ear to ear as Dr. Shalini's words bring back so many of their individual memories that they shared with Naveen. They know it very well how melodramatic could Naveen sometimes turn! But the only difference in the memories of Rajveer and Naina were - Rajveer knew even as a Cadet he was fun to hangout with. But for Naina, after he joined KMA, after the first few visits he gave to them in their home, he turned more serious and a bit distant. Naina used to understand, it was because of his tight schedule and burden of studies and works. But Rajveer since he was going through all those pressures himself, he couldn't notice it as clearly as Naina could.
Dr. Shalini continues,
"Usne mujhse kaha...
'To kya hua agar uske saath kisi aisi-waisi female cadet ne flirt karne ki koshish ki? Wo mature hai; yahan soldier banne aya hai, khud sambhal lega situation ko I am sure!'
And this indeed succeeded in skipping my heartbeat!"
Listening to her words, skips Naina's heartbeat and she instantly asks,
"Kyun?"
Dr. Shalini shoots her glance towards Naina. Narrowing her eyes, with a smile on her face Dr. Shalini says as a matter of fact,
"Tum jaisa soch rahi ho waisa kuch nahi hai Cadet Singh!"
Naina blushes and lowers her eyes. Was she sounding that obvious?
Rajveer laughs out loud, followed by Dr. Shalini.
Naina on finding Rajveer mocking at her shoots daggers towards him through her eyes. Rajveer on understanding that she is hurt, stops laughing abruptly. His sudden change in mood makes Naina to laugh in return. This Rajveer glares her. As Naina notices it, they both blush together.
Rajveer looks back towards Naina, his eyes softer than before. Did she feel a ping of jealousy just now? Naina understands what his eyes are inquiring! Her heartbeat picks up pace and she looks away.

Ending the eye contact, clearing his throat, Rajveer says,
"Anyways! Fir kya hua doctor?"
"Main nervous ho gayi thi. Main janti thi Rajveer kabhi kisi ladki se baat karne ki koshish bhi nahi karte but sub ladkiyan inke peechey makhi ki tarah aa jati hain!",
Dr. Shalini rolls her eyes on saying that.
Her words make Naina and Rajveer both to blush. They lower their eyes. Where on one hand Rajveer lowers his eyes because it becomes difficult for him to have such a conversation in front of Naina; there on the other Naina lowers her eyes as it becomes difficult for her to imagine female cadets circled around her. Her heartbeat picks up pace as she remembers Dr. Mishra and Rajveer together! She remembers how she felt when she saw them together that night during mentorship programme. Lately she realized it, that it was nothing but jealousy that she felt towards Dr. Mishra that night. And what followed it was her possessiveness that she started having for Rajveer, when she declared Dr. Mishra, with full authority that she cannot marry him, because Naina loves Rajveer!
The rememberance of Rajveer with Dr. Mishra, yet again succeeds in making Naina to feel the ping of jealousy that she felt that evening!
They focus back on Dr. Shalini.
"Aur uss waqt ye bohot innocent the. Inn ka mann bohot saaf tha. Aur ho bhi kyun na tab tak KMA k prapanch se durr jo the!",
says Dr. Shalini with a sad smile on her face as she yet again remembers what all he has gone through till date.
"Maine tabhi decide kar liya ki main bhi jaungi!"
Sighing, smiling, she says,
"So this was a short incident humari life ka!",
she looks towards Rajveer, smiling as she reaches the end of her line.
Naina and Rajveer laugh a little.
"Anyways you please continue Raj!",
smiles Dr. Shalini, sadly.
Sighing, Rajveer continues,
"Main confused tha! Mujhey samajh nahi aa raha tha ki main chup chap reh kar Naveen ki tarah iss system ke procedures se guzrun ya... bhaag jaun!!!"
This skips Dr. Shalini's and Naina's heartbeat. Naina's eyes starts welling up but she controls herself.
"I was in a dilemma! Tabhi uss din Naina mujhse milne ayi..."
(Fast Rajveer-Naina revolt tune begins as Rajveer turns to look towards Naina and Naina stares back, knitting her brows, hurt!)
"Isne mujhse ek wada manga..."
And as he utters these words Naina understands what is he about to say! Her heartbeat picks up pace.
"Wada ye ki agar iss system ne mujhey insaaf nahi diya, to main yahan se bhaag jaunga!!"
This comes as a surprise for Dr. Shalini. But she doesn't blame Naina for asking so from Rajveer. Deep down she knew had she been at Naina's place, she would have done the same!
"Iski iss baat ne mere ander bachi thodi si jhijhak jo thi, usse bhi khatam kar di!"
"Mujhse Chaubey milne aya tha... maine usse sare plans discuss kar liye the. Coincidently sub kuch khud hi ho gya mujhey kuch karne ki zarurat hi nahi parhi. I won't get into details ki main kaise bhaga aur inn subse mila because you already know that",
tells Rajveer.
Dr. Shalini smiles and assures that she knows.
"Wahan se bhagne ke baad main kuch din aise hi bhagta raha, bhatak gaya tha main. Aur almost one week baad I guess, meri ankh khuli to maine khudko ek chotey se ghar mein paya, ek aurat ke saath!!!",
he declares.
This comes as yet another surprise for Dr. Shalini and Naina. Rajveer turns to look towards Naina to know her reaction. She looks tensed. Eager to know who the lady was and what happened next?
"Usne apna naam mujhey Suman bataya"
Smirking, he says,
"Usne mera swagat meri taraf pistol dikha kar kiya!"
Where Dr. Shalini widens her eyes out of shock; there Naina gasp, as she imagines what kind of a scene it would have been. At this moment she craved to hold him; hug him tightly to ensure that he is going no where!
"Fir? Fir kya hua Captain?",
asks Dr. Shalini, mustering all the courage. As much as it hurts her to the core, listening to this heart wrenching story of Captain Rajveer, she needs to learn too, what exactly had happened with him! She wasn't listening to his story only as his friend; colleague but as a doctor too! She needs him to bringing out everything that's he has been holding this long. Only then will he be able to proceed his journey in KMA soundly. And as far as she knew Captain Rajveer; her friend Raj, he is a man of immense power. He can go to whatever extent to ensure that none of his beloved people get hurt because of him. And right now Dr. Shalini needs to make sure that he shares with them every minute detail about his life that he commenced without there presence into it. She knows, it's only Naina and herself that he can trust on immensely. She knows even though eventually he would hesitate to pour his heart out in front of them but he knows this too that it is only them in which he can confide himself without any hesitation.
"Pehle main thoda nervous ho gya par apni presence of mind laga kar, maine bohot pyar se usse baat ki..."
*Flashback*
"Dekho main... main nahi janta ki tum kon ho... in fact main to ye bhi nahi janta ki main yahan kya kar raha hun...!!! And please mera yakin mano main tumhe koi nuksaan nahi pohnchane wala..."
"Oh really Captain? Apko lagta hai ki main aap par bharosa karungi? Anyways main apko yahan se janey dene nahi wali anyways",
says Suman.
"Socha tha kuch din aur aap behosh rahenge to acha hoga. But apko itni jaldi hosh aa gaya...!!!",
she mutters.
"Jaldi? Tum isse jaldi kehti ho?",
shouts Captain Rajveer.
As soon as he completes the line, he feels that whole world is revolving at a quick pace. How could he forget that he hasn't recovered yet? He has just woken up from his days sleep.
"Aur agar main kuch aur din behosh rehta to kya karti tum? Batao? Mere barey mein information collect karti apne source se?",
he asks, raising his voice, creasing his brows.
"Ya... ya shayad mujhey maar dalti ye soch kar ki ab main kabhi hosh mein nahi aunga?"
"Answer me dammit!",
he shouts.
"Enough!",
shouts back Suman.
"Don't you dare think that I am gonna get scared of that authoritative voice of yours. I am not that weak a girl you see",
tells Suman.
"That's what I am asking... what are you? Who are you exactly?"
"Iss desh ko traitors se bachane ki zimmedari hai meri. You got that? Bilkul apki tarah!",
she says spitting venom through her last three words.
"Why am I feeling ki tum iss baat ko accept nahi kar pa rahi ki main ek soldier hun? Desh ka wafadar soldier?",
asks Captain Rajveer.
"Wafadar?",
retorts Suman, spitting venom through this one word. As if she can't imagine the word 'wafadar' being placed with 'Captain Rajveer Singh Shekhawat'!
"Tum khud ko wafadar kehte ho Captain Shekhawat? Tumne ek kabil, respected officer ki jaan le li and here you are saying ki tum ek wafadar officer ho?",
asks Suman, her anger palpable through her voice.
"Tum jaisa soch rahi ho waisa kuch nahi hai!",
he tells her.
"Waisa hi hai Captain! Pehle tumne apne dost Captain Naveen Singh Ahluwalia ki jaan li, aur ab tumne ek reputed officer Major Shakti Chandra ki jaan le li! Kyun kiya tumne aisa Captain? You are a bloody traitor, aren't you?",
she asks, shouting.
"Enough! Kisne ye haq diya tumhe ki tum aise ye sub baatein kaho?",
shouts somebody, entering the room.
Captain Rajveer creases his brows, why is the voice sounding so familiar?
He turns to know who it is! And whom he discovers, shocks him!
"Raj...",
says she, smiling.
"Nandini...!!!",
mutters a shocked Captain Rajveer.
Captain Rajveer out of shock and surprise goes numb. This cannot be happing! The last information he managed to secure about her was that she was in Canada. When and why did she return back?
After his initial shock, Captain Rajveer notices her head to toe!
Looking towards Rajveer, Nandini smiles and asks him, excited to see him after so many years,
"Kaise ho Raj?"
Raj's head starts spinning. What is she doing here? How did they meet? Why would she bring him here instead of taking him back to KMA?
Not answering her question, Rajveer puts forward his question,
"Tum yahan kya kar rahi ho? Last time jab maine tumhare barey mein check kiya tha you were in Australia. Tum India kab ayi? Aur wo bhi yahan?"
Smirking, Nandini replies him,
"I am disappointed in you Raj! Tumne mujhey track kiya, I didn't mind it. It actually gave me a feeling ki tum ab bhi mere barey mein sochte ho..."
Rajveer smirks out of hatred, and rolling his eyes, he looks away.
"Par Raj, Australia? Seriously? Mujhey wo jagah chorey hue kitne mahine ho gaye hain! Uske baad bhi main do (2) jagah reh chuki hun. Where are your information about those places? Mr. Perfectionist ke paas updated information nahi hai? Strange!",
says Nandini, disappointed.
Rajveer looks towards Nandini, glaring her out of hatred.
Something comes into Nandini's mind.
"Wait a minute! Raj, kahin tumhe kisi se pyar to nahi ho gaya?",
she asks, doubting.
Rajveer looks away as he remembers the last hug he had with Naina! It pierces his heart, her thought. With a new determination, hatred, he looks towards Nandini and asks, spitting venom through his words,
"To tumhe kya laga, main tumhara intezaar kar raha hunga?"
Laughing out loud for few moments, Nandini says,
"Raj! Raj! Raj! Tumhara ye gussa, oh god! Ab tak nahi badle na tum? You look so adorable jab tum gussa hote ho"
"Such batao Raj, karte the na mujhse pyar?",
she asks, cupping his face in her hands, forcing him to meet her eyes.
"You are sick Nandini!",
spits out Rajveer.
"I am sick Raj??",
shouts Nandini.
"I am Dr. Nandini Mehta, Raj! And you are calling me sick?",
asks Nandini, shouting.
"I know why you are doing this!! Uss... Uss... Naina ke liye na Raj?",
she asks.
