Please do give Sema 😳

This is what I hate so much.

Not just in mythos, even in daily soaps, the Lord is used to glorify/villify the characters as per writers' wish.

How many times do characters take the Lord's name before going to kill someone, or when they hatch a conspiracy to ruin other's life? 🤢

And I absolutely hate it when the epics are used to suppress and oppress people, especially women. How many times are women told they mustn't cross the Lakshman rekha like Sita did, and blame the haran on her instead of Ravan?

Or say you shouldn't laugh at others like Draupadi did, or something like the vastra haran will happen to you?

Sema, even Gandhari wasn't innocent. Shows generally whitewash her and villify Dhritarastra, but actually both of them were greedy and selfish. Both of them didn't mind seeing other family members suffer as long as their kids were happy.

That's why their kids turned out like that. With such parents as example, we can't really blame the Kauravas for becoming greedy and arrogant.

This is what I was saying. By being silent, she was basically agreeing to the unfair (too superficial) treatment meted out to her nephews, by the brother..

And cursed the Lord of the Universe for causing a war which actually she, her husband and her brother were responsible for.

That's what I'm saying. She wasn't always silent. She pretended to be kind to Kunti and her kids, but in reality she poisoned Duryodhan's mind as much as Shakuni did. She didn't just turn a blind ear to his misdeeds. She even convinced Dhritarastra that the fault was with the Pandavas. She and Dhrit were both pretty bad.

I know. 😡 This part always makes me angry, and I know the Lord accepted the curse because the Yadav vansh had to be destroyed before he left the Earth, but Gandhari had no right cursing the Lord. She didn't.

I know! The very fact that He is Karunanidhan is what we can see here, He didn't bat an eyelid at the curse, He took it smilingly. But, the reason she cursed Him- the destruction, the death of her sons. She was a catalyst in that, and she did a lot of things that were (sorry for being harsh) underhanded, deceitful and manipulative. She was no saint. She was as much to blame as Dhrit or Shakuni for the war.

I have read almost all the novels except Ajaya, and I have found one interesting thing. The protagonist is always a victim and is supported as well as glorified by Krishna.
In Draupadi-centered novels, Krishna praises only Draupadi and no one else. and as Shreya said, He is often paired with Draupadi 🤢
In Arjun-centered novels, Krishna says that Arjun is the best but in Karna-centered novels He says just the opposite 😆
In ArDi-centered novels, Krishna blames everybody for making Draupadi wife of 5 husbands.
In Bheem-centered novels (though I have read only 1 of this type), Krishna supports Bheem and criticizes the others.
Don't know the condition of Duryodhan-centered novels since I'm yet to read Ajaya.
Last but not the least, there is one common factor in all the books mentioned above. That is, poor Dharmaraj Yudhishthir is demeaned and disrespected in all these books. Whoever the protagonist is, to glorify him/her Dharmaraj is bound to be vilified 😭
