What's your take on this? Do you too think that it was he who caused the war?

I would never say that he is responsible for the war. He was the one who wanted to avoid the war as much as he could. He sent Lord Krishna as a shaanti doot to HP. In this scenario, it makes no sense to blame him. But Yudhishtira will always be blamed, since people are too narrow minded and don't understand him, so.

People are so ignorant when it comes to him, they are hell bent on hating him no matter what. 😆

The same people who hate his peace and non-violence approach blame him for the war.

Like...come on. How does that even make sense? 🤪

@bold- this is simply because they don't understand him. He was too amazing to be understood by random people, unless they make an effort. When you try, you can. But who wants to try?

The thing is: a person has to be blamed for every incident and from every perspective, because people want so.Whatever he does, he is bound to be criticized because people have decided that. It's very unfair to him if readers of the epic/viewers of the serial trap him from two sides. They never read the original epic, never want to understand him. And they hide their inability of understanding his greatness by deliberate misunderstanding.
That reminds me, Dharmaraj could predict this in Dwapar. In Udyog Parva he says, "If I support war I will be blamed for the destruction. And if I want peace then also I will be blamed for not fulfilling my kshatriya Dharma." Now you can see that exactly this is happening.

@Shreya, Exactly my words. He was the leader of deprived side. Still it was he who cared for peace, it was he who sent a peace proposal, ignoring all injustices done to him, and sacrificing the maximum portion of his kingdom (he wanted only 5 villages, what can be greater sacrifice than this for an Emperor?). War happened just because kauravas did not accept his peace proposal.
Dharmaraj always tried to avoid the war. Had he not been the leader of Pandavas, war would have happened much earlier, i.e, in Aadi Parva itself after lakshagriha or Khandavprashtha decision.

But you know, the saddest part, sadder than even Dharmaraj being blamed. I have seen even the Lord being blamed and that's just sad.

If you ask me, there are three people to be blamed the most for the war:
Dhritarashtra
Gandhari and
Shakuni.

Dhritarashtra by his passive agreement with Shakuni, allowing himself to be misguided by his brother-in-law. He allowed himself to resent his brother and consequentially, their sons.

Gandhari by her silence, letting her brother carry on with his misdeeds, his misguidance of her sons.

Shakuni, in general for conspiring, instigating his nephews, and Dhrit and Gandhari.

Not only that, nowadays authors use Lord to glorify and vilify characters according to their wish. Is He a puppet of their hands? I can show you excerpts from bestseller books where you will never get a single word that can be uttered by our Lord.
