We finally got to see the first glimpse of Mr.Raizada as Khushi's finance and that too in the form of jealousy. Well, there's always a first for everything. And Mr. Raizada bothered about Khushi still testing waters...that's another first.
Loved the way you're presenting these encounters between Mr.Raizada and Khushi. But not so happy about the next chapter being the last. I'd love to read more of Mr.and Mrs. Raizada..
Chapter 6 - Conclude
"I'm a rubbish wedding planner,"
Why would you say that - he replied from beside her at the kitchen table going through yet another gift box and lable.
"Because it's the night before my sisters wedding and look at us"
They were adding labels to little gifts for the guests which Khushi had forgotten to do till this evening and there was no one to help really apart from Arnav.
Maybe it was another reason to give them time to spend with each other but they'd done that so often throughout this wedding now and not even realized. They decorated many a times, put up lights, cleaned, sampled food, you name it this couple had done it and in the mean time they were spending precious moments with one and other.
He thought it best to change the subject though seen as Khushi seemed to fustrated.
Want more tea he asked because that was what was keeping them going, tea for her and coffee for him.
She refused but he got up to top his mug up anyway thinking of a way he could lighten the mood a little. "So when are you going to start calling me Arnav then,
Mr raizada is a little formal don't you think."
Personal it was but he'd rather they talk about them rather than anything else. She was surpised by the sudden question looked up at him and seemed to think it through for a moment.
"Maybe after marriage I'll see how I feel.."
Maybe ? He stressed raising his eyebrows before taking a mouthful of his coffee and taking a seat back at the table.
You are more of a hand full then I'd imagined you know that. Sarcastic but sweet was his tone but it still got a look from her.
"Whats that supposed to mean .."
"You just are ..a little quirkier than I had thought"
- "And you are nicer than I had taken you for but you can still change your mind you know.."
"Not at all you're mine Miss Gupta " She liked that he added that on in the end it gave her a sense of belonging which was rather attractive.
They continued to talk and he asked her.. "Are you happy..?
"Right now I'm very tired but yes I'm happy"
"Are you..?" She felt as if she was obliged to ask even though she was sure of it Anyone had to be to go through this with her.
"Extremely", he smiled and then to the practicality, we've run out of tape he said and she sighed, I've got some more hang on.
He just drank more of his coffee whilst waiting for Khushi who had walked out of the room for a moment.
...
She was exhausted they both were but Khushi was more fragile for sure. She just wanted to get this over with, enjoy the wedding and have a little time to herself as she found what she was looking for in one of her bags she walked across the corridor quietly knowing there were some bedrooms along that side of the house and the family would be asleep but Khushi happens to hear payals voice tries not to overhear as she walks along it was probably sweet talk between the husband and wife to be whom were forced into rooms apart and it was cute until Khushi overhears something that shocks her.
...
It had been some time since Khushi had left him and he wondered why it was taking her so long and decided to go and see if he could help.
Strangely so Khushi wasn't anywhere to be found, not in the lounge, nor in any of corridors but Arnav noticed the light on in the garden followed it. Still with his coffee to hand he too was tired but they we ere nearly done now .
He walked out into the garden to see Khushi sat on the pourch around her the setting for tomorrows garden wedding but as soon she saw him and began walking his way her eyes told him something was extremely wrong.
Khushi.. he said as he looked down at her and he she looked at differently like there was something she needed to say to him but wasn't just quite sure what.
He looked around a moment and noticed that some of the lights had been pulled down she did that? He thought confused.
When she did speak it was direct.
Payal and Aakash they're getting married tonight, probably now in the mandir on their own.
He looked at her dumb struck for a moment.
Meine Payal ki bate suni..
"And your saying they've set off? He confirmed and she nodded.
I saw them.."
There was a sharp anger in Mr Raizadas eyes and an equally hurt but angry vibe to Khushi and her reactions on the matter too.
...
Arnav could see that Khushi was annoyed she walked into a corner in the garden and took seat.
She was angry, he was too because it was childish and foolish but Khushi seemed a little more hurt.
For a moment he contemplated picking up his phone and loosing his mind at Akaash but he probably wouldn't pick up and that would be reacting on the whim.
He took a seat by Khushi and cared to look at he mandap in the garden she had worked so hard to create, they had created. It was beautiful.
"Yey sab kis kaam ka.. jab woh dono" She said disheartened and he felt her reasoning in very way.
"I worked so hard on this ." She sighed and then without thinking dropped her head on his shoulder she felt sad more than sad she felt a bit betrayed but she was thinking and feeling from the heart. He on the other hand needed her to see it from another perspective to make her feel better. The fact that she had her head on his shoulder was the very first real moment of closeness they shared and it felt so natural. It showed her trust and support.
"I know you did and its beautiful just look at it"... - he replied. She looked and the lights shun out to her but she was still no calmer about it.
"Aap Ghussa nahin hai.". ! (Are you not angry?) "because .. I am very angry .. they're selfish". She commented looking up to him. How could he be so horizontal about this.
Believe you me I am Khushi he said calmly but with meaning but we have to think of it from their perspective too. "Maybe they wanted their own space, they wanted to do it their way like us for instance when we decided that we would not court one and other." Just as he put down his opinion did Khushi look towards him making prompt to the fact that it seemed like to the two of them Akaash and Payal had returned.
...
Not expecting to have an audience when they returned, Aakaash, sneaked into the house as discreetly as they had sneaked out and happily too but this time Payal had returned with the markings of a bride in the hand of her husband.
Both shocked to see that the garden lights in the house were on and both Arnav and Khushi had caught them in their return the two of them stood ashamed of themselves, a little scared and silent when stood in front of Arnav.
Khushi on the other hand just stayed in the same in the same spot in the garden. She wouldn't say a word because she had nothing to say she simply watched still sure that these two were in the wrong and they deserved every bit of anger that was coming there way.
Payal stood behind Akaash a little more as per personality she was a little more fearful of the situation whilst Aakash stood silent he would attempt to explain but Arnav didn't want to hear it. His disappointed silence and stern eyes were enough, he looked upon Payal behind Aakash, her hair line filled with sindoor, her mangalsutra an indication that they had indeed married one and other.
Silence was sometimes enough, embarrassment and disappointment were a lot more powerful than angry words could be
So was the case here, they knew that they had disappointed but at the same time Arnav Singh Raizada was not an unreasonable man.
With his hands within his pockets and a sigh did dismiss the matter, his eyes of course still stern.
''Go on," ..his eyes ordering them to leave his sight before he actually got angry and the biggest reason would have been seeing Khushi upset about it all else really he wasn't concerned about.
He felt Khushi approach after the two of them had left, he turned around with those comforting eyes and everything Khushi felt in the last hour or so melted with them. Maybe he was right the two of them Payal and Aakash seemed happy and so maybe it was just like Mr Raizada had said. It was just one of those things.
He looked upon Khushi trying to see if she was still mad but he didn't see anger in her eyes anymore.
It wasn't all for nothing you know that don't you Khushi..
This he looked around a little at the lights the mandap, everything "This is what has made us what we are.. "
"Mr and Mrs Raizada in the making" she said as she looked around for a moment..
And he nodded with a sugary smile whilst she found place in his chest.
...
