But the prob here is also suvi's. She is way too defensive. She has to believe that just like how Neel is good for her, she also has to believe that she is equally good for Neel.
She is kinda letting Neel and the elders of his house ride over her emotions.
Neel says he's not ready for marriage and also says to Suvi" won't you invite Amma to your house".

But if I have to look from Amma's angle ... I get her. She has someone to compare and so her initial reaction is to feel disappointed on comparison. And by saying she has to do the right thing she is communicating to suvi that she is taking a higher ground but the good and bad thing with our family system is that some of us never stop wanting parents approval for everything we do in our lives !!
