PART 3
Roli couldn't sleep that night. Girls like her are typical. They don't fall in love that soon. But once they fall in love, they became mad over it. She couldn't sense that everything was happening so soon, so very soon, that should not have happened, but somehow it happened. Roli twisted and twirled in her bed thinking of the day's events. She had had a very good day at college. Ya, it begun with a clash but ever since she met Siddhant everything became fine. Seemed that he gave colors to her day. He had entered her mind without any warning. He had stolen her heart all in a second. Why not? He had saved her from being bullied. From being harassed. It was like a rule that such innocent girls like Roli fall in love with such events. Roli Dwivedi, who never dared to look up at a boy, fell in love. That too at first sight. This was definitely a miracle. He had made her see the heights of heaven in a day. She felt too special. But at the same time she felt guilty. How could she just fall in love? Did her parents send her to college for all this? She knew the answer was no, but somehow her heart was agreeing. It told her that what she had for him was not a crush, but it was love. But she wasn't fully convinced. She got tears in eyes. Why was she feeling so? No...She's not supposed to think so...Not at all. She closed her eyes trying to forget Sid's face.
Back at Sid's home. Sid was busily working out some question papers at the late hour. But somehow he couldn't concentrate. This girl had a bad effect on him. Whenever he opens the book her innocent face comes to his mind. That is not letting him do his work. This evening he couldn't even have food because she was occupying all his thoughts. That innocence, shy, smile; everything made him fall for her. She was very different. And that made him fall in love with her again and again. But somehow he felt it very silly. Love at first sight; was it after all a cheesy filmy concept? Can it happen in real life? And if such thing happens can it be called love? It could be better thought as lust. But her innocence, that wasn't leaving his mind. She was protesting to stay in his heart. He wasn't getting answers and so he decided not to meet her again.
3 months later. Roli and Sid did not meet each other significantly. And even if they met, they tried to hide from each other's eyes. Not because they had some problem with each other, but because that one sight could make them go insane. They would lose themselves. And that happened.
One afternoon. Roli tiptoed through the portico holding her books. She was busy checking the names and authors and wasn't looking straight. Sid was holding some program list and was indulged in it as he walked opposite to Roli in the same portico. They walked not listening to the surroundings and as a result bumped to each other. Roli's books fell down and as for Sid he was irritated with the bump. "Can't you see..." he asked and that was when he saw Roli. He went silent in that minute. He couldn't say anything. He was made mum. "Woh...you..." Roli too looked at him and the same happened. Lost in each other's eyes. Sid slowly sat in the floor and took Roli's books. He gave each one of them to her, looking straight in to her eyes. Roli was too equally lost on her. But soon Roli gained her consciousness soon, realizing that they were in a zone which was most watched. She stood up and so did Sid. "Hi...Siddhantji..." she said in a low voice. "Hi...How are you?" asked Sid as a return question. They felt too happy to talk to each other. "I'm fine...how about you?" she asked him. "Fine...Things are going well..." he replied smiling. Roli could not stop the red tinch that was appearing on her cheeks unknowingly and Sid could very well notice it.; He could sense that she felt what he felt but wasn't sure of it. "Well...Roli...Did you get any problem then? I mean..." Sid asked reluctantly. "It's all fine Siddhantji...Nothing to worry...thanks..."
Sid was relieved at her reply. All these days though silently he was watching her. To make sure that she was safe. But never got the presence of mind to confront her. But now after talking to her, he feels like talking to her always. He wasn't feeling like going way. "Roli...had your lunch?" he asked friendly in a hidden aim to spend time with her. "No...Not yet...had lot of work..." Roli said. "Well...then come...let's have together..." he said trying to hide that handsome smile which came on his lips. Roli was bit reluctant but asking to herself, ultimately she liked his presence. Then why should she hide herself from him? The more time they spent together, the better they can understand each other and then she can decide whether to nurture or suppress her feelings. "Okay..." she said. "Come..." said Sid excitedly. They took their bags and went to a tree shade. Sid and Roli sat next to each other. They started to have food together. "Where are you staying?" asked Roli hesitantly. "Woh...here...men's hostel..." said Sid smiling. "Then your family?" she asked again. Sid smiled. "I'm not having a family...actually had...a very big one...but you remember about bomb blast in Varanasi...I lost all of them there, two years back..." he said still with a smile on his face. Her had learned to take life as it is. But Roli felt deeply hurt. She regretted for having asked him. ?"Siddhantji..please forgive me...I didn't know...woh..." she had tears in her eyes. Sid suddenly stopped seeing Roli's tears. "Areyy Roli...What is there to forgive? Come on...how can you know about my family? Well...you may know us...the Bharadwaj's...famous business company in Delhi..." said Sid trying to chill Roli. "Ya...I have heard...then who's dealing all that now...I mean business..." she asked doubtfully. "My friend Amar. He's dealing all that...actually I don't like this freaking business...Just wanna be an IPS officer and serve nation..." Roli smiled. Sid continued having food whilst Roli looked at him intently. Sid noticed this and raised him eyebrows in question. "Siddhantji...you're very strong...You're saying about one of the biggest anguishes of one's life; that of losing one's family very easily...It is something I can never think of. In fact I can't stay a day without my parents..." she said slowly. Sid smiled. "Roli...People should learn to face challenges in life...We have to suppress our pains...Life can play anything with us, but we should be the final winner..." Roli smiled at his answer. ""Siddhantji...I like being with you.,.." she said unknowingly. "What!!!" Asked Sid in surprise. "Who...I mean...I like your friendship..." said Roli praying that he won't get her state of mind. Sid smiled. "I'm always your friend...you can call me anytime anywhere...I'm always there for you..."Roli felt really joyful at his words. That was a new beginning. The beginning of a new friendship.
