Part 80
The next day, early morning, Siya got all the things required to water the plants ready while Ram laughed and was confused at the same time. He laughed because he knew Siya was doing all this just to show Ram how "jealous" she was and he was confused because he didn't understand why Siya had decided to go there alone. Ram wanted to go with her, but Siya was adamant. The truth was that Siya just wanted to see which girl had fallen for her Ram, and have a talk with her. She didn't know how they both would react to each other, but for all that she understood, she knew when two women talk about a someone, it's better for that person to not be there.
Siya set off. She went exactly to place where Ram told her the woman had met her. But there was no one there. She waited on the bench.
After a while or so, Siya got up to water the plants instead of sitting there idly. As soon as she started, she heard footsteps in her direction. Siya smiled, preparing herself for all kinds of sights.
A woman stood a few feet away from her and watered the plants, rather throwing water around. It was clear from her actions that she definitely wasn't there to do what she looked like to be be doing. Siya still hadn't looked up, she continued with her work..
Finally, she looked up and faced the woman who now stood opposite to her on the other side of the small garden.
The jug dropped from Siyas hand. Water from it fell on her feet, but she sensed nothing. Siya gulped. The usual bright on her face faded.
Shipra looking down still asked, "Do you know where that man is? The one who comes here to water the plants.. He.." Shipra looked up and her eyes carried the same expression.
She understood that Siya knew who she was, although Ram didn't. Shipra had two choices in front of her, either to flee or to capture.
Siya could not believe that Ram could not recognize her. Urmila was right after all. And her worrying did not go in vain, unfortunately.
Siya picked up her things quickly and walked out from there. Shipra kicked the plants in anger.
"If she goes back and tells Ram everything.. Then... Neither will I survive, nor will I get Ram... No! I need to stop her... I need to finish this off. "
Shipra picked up her handbag and ran behind her. She carried many things inside her handbag. And it included a bottle of acid. She had planned her day already, but she didn't expect things to go haywire so early.
Shipra had planned to meet Ram in morning, and let out her hearts feelings in front of her. And if he rejected, she would go to Lakshman to convince him. And if even that didn't work, she would attack Ram's Siya.
"Ram loves that Siya no? Why, because shes beautiful? If her beauty itself will not be present, what will Ram love?"
Shipra ran faster.
Siya was about 50 meters from the house. Suddenly, she felt the sound of footsteps increasing behind her. Siya turned to look but she saw no one. She continued. Siya walked faster. She felt claustrophobic even in the open atmosphere.
Siya heard sounds again and she turned to glance behind her. This time, she saw a face. An angry face, and a face approaching closer.
"Shipra!" yelled Siya, in her mind.
Siya turned and ran as fast as she could. Running over the potholes and the rocks, it hurt her feet. But Siya moved. There was no other option.
After a few seconds which seemed like eternity to Siya, she reached the house. Siya struck the door hard.
"Open the door fast!" she yelled.
Inside, Urmila,Ram and Lakshman who had been giggling till then shook up. They understood it to be Siyas voice and Urmila rushed to open the door.
As soon as she opened the door, Siya came rushing inside and pushed Urmila to shut the door behind her. She stood with her back against the door and panted. Urmila took the things from her hand and Ram made her sit on the sofa.
After giving her a glass of water to drink, Ram rubbed his hands over her hair and asked,
"What happened Siya, are you okay?"
Siya looked up at him in both frustration and fear.
"Ram, how did you not understand who that lady was?"
Ram looked confused.
"What do you mean Siya?"
"Ram, that was..SHIPRA!!! Shipra! She had come to see you and Ram, she has fallen in love with you! She is desperate to get you!"
Ram's hadnt started trembling and his mouth fumbled. Lakshman looked at Urmila and gaped. Urmila's eyes had already watered up. The worst of what she was expecting had come up.
"Si..Siya...How? I mean..What?!"
"Yes Ram, she has fallen in love with you. And when I was coming back, she was running behind me angrily like she was about to kill me."
The doorbell rang.
Lakshman looked at the door and at Siya again. That Shipra, she tried to kill him, his Bhabi and now had fallen in love in love with his brother. Falling in love was not her mistake, her mistake was NEEDING RAM. She was behaving like she needed Ram, at any cost.
The doorbell rang again.
Siya looked at Ram and shook her head, signifying him not to open the door.
"Ill open the door," said Lakshman.
Urmila looked at him in shock. Sometimes, she felt, Lakshman jumped into dangers knowingly.
Lakshman glanced at Urmila but didnt get deterred by her fear. He took a deep breath and walked to the door.
He Stood at a fine distance and grasped the knob.
"Dont," whispered Siya but it was unheard by him.
Lakshman flung open the door and his eyes widened. There she was, Shipra, but spitting fire from her eyes.
Lakshman was quick enough to see the transparent bottle in her hand and he moved away as she threw some of it on him.
The acid fell on the wooden floor and let out a bad smell. The wood deformed a little.
Shipra came right in and pushed Lakshman to the side.
Siya stood up and stood beside Ram. Shipra stopped and was about to fall. Ram, out of instinct, went to hold her.
Shipra looked up at him and smiled, half crying.
"Ram, why does this happen to me everytime? I want you, and God is taking you away from me. That Siya...What is there in her? Look at me, how am I not perfect for you?! What is not there in me which is in her?"
Ram left her and she struggled to stand on her feet. He raised his voice.
"You characterless woman! Dare you speak a word more about my wife!! She is Siya Suryavanshi, she is my wife. And dare you compare yourself to her. Such a careless person I was, I couldnt recognize you. You tried to kill my brother, my wife and now you want me?! How do you even have the guts to say that?"
Shipra laughed. Her laugh pierced everyones ears.
"Ram, you will never know how big a mistake you are making. My brother is Ragahavan Dharvesh. A name that tears everyone into pieces. And who are you, youre a meagre man. You dont even own s*** now!" she yelled.
Urmila helped Lakshman up. Lakshman walked quickly to Shipra and held her neck from the back.
"I never even dreamt of raising my hand on a woman, but you are much less than even an animal! Talk like that again and whats left of you I will crush it!"
Ram went to calm Lakshman but Shipra was trying to catch hold of the acid bottle she had dropped.
Before Siya could do anything, Shipra picked the bottle up and punched in Lakshmans abdomen with her elbow. Lakshman moved back.
Shipra looked at the bottle angrily. She clasped it hard and looked at Siya.
"Ram loved you becuase you are beautiful. But he wont love you anymore after you are not. And .."
Lakshman held Shipras arm from the back. It was a dangerous Situation now. If the acid fell back, it would fall on Shipra while if it fell forward, SIya would be harmed.
"Leave me Goddamit!" she yelled.
"You throw the bottle down first!" shouted Lakshman.
"I wont"
"Then even I wont leave you."
Ram could see Shipras motives in her eyes and he and SIya moved back.
Lakshman grasped Shipras hand harder. He tried to push it in all directions, but the woman was strong. Shipra turned and faced lakshman. She still was holding the acid while Lakshman caughte hold of the bottle over her hands to stop their movement.
"This wont be good Lakshman!"
"Unless you leave the damn bottle!"
"Let go Lakshman!"
"Let go Shipra!"
Lakshman's hand loosened for a second. Shipra aimed the bottle in his direction. Everything around them seemed to slow down.
Lakshman, seeing the bottle aimed at him, turned it to her side. Shipra pulled the bottle without knowing it was in her direction.
"AGGHHH!!!!!!"
The bottle fell from her hand with the sound of a pindrop. Shipra covered her face with her hand. She shreieked and trembled. Lakshman caught hold of a table to support his feet. Siya looked away while Ram stood stunned. Urmila ran out of the room.
The door was open. Shipra ran towards the door crying. She turned for one last time, with the region below her eyes covered with her hand.
WIth all the power she had, she said,
"This was not right Ram! I will make you go through this too!!!"
Shipra ran out, leaving the four of them stunned and shocked. The cold wind blew inside.
Ram ran to Lakshman and hugged him tightly. Lakshman still was expressionless.
"Its okay my brother. She got what she deserved. "
