PART 89
"Pawan?" asked Ram in an inquisitive and confused tone. For some reason, he couldn't recognise the man standing in front of him, hands folded in obeisance as if in front of a God, with tears in his eyes.
Pawan's smile shortened.
"Sir, I am Pawan Kesari. Don't you remember me now?"
Ram looked at Lakshman, but Lakshman too gave him the same look.
Were they bring fooled into something, they thought. But the honest look in Pawan's eyes barred them from thinking so.
"I ..I am sorry Officer Pawan. For some reason, Im not able to recognise you, even if I know you."
Ram's words hurt Pawan at his heart. For someone who saw Ram as his saviour, he felt dejected and lost. But, Pawan was not someone who would lose hope so easily. He was persistent.
He moved a bit closer and said,
"Sir, you know me as the officer right?"
"Uh, Yes.."
"Then Sir, you trust me right?"
Each of Pawan's words seemed to confuse Ram and Lakshman more and more. Was he the officer, or someone very close to Ram, or both?
"Sir?" said Pawan and broke Ram out of his thinking trance.
"Yes," said Ram. He trusted the OFFICER for sure.
"Then Sir, believe me, you know me. You are the reason that I am standing here. You are the reason for my existence. I know what you are going through Sir, but as we progress on our path, I shall tell you how you know me."
Lakshman moved closer to Ram and whispered in his ear,
"Bhaiyya, I dont feel right about this. I know he IS the officer, but what if even he is involved with Raghavan in delaying us?"
Ram looked at Pawan. As the winds breezed around, through his fluttering hair Ram could see the soft, humble and pleading man in front of him. He thought, that had Pawan been involved with Raghavan, he would have never let them come till here, almost half the way.
"No Lakshman," he said, "I dont think so. He looks honest. And even if he was involved, we would have been finished off by now. I think the Man in him is true, so let us take this chance and see."
Lakshman still wasnt totally convinced, but his faith on Ram was more than his own doubts.
"So," said Ram, "Tell me all about you as we move on. Do you know the way?"
Pawan smiled.
"Sir, it is I who led you here, and I will be the one to be with you in the future."
Ram and Lakshman moved ahead as Pawan came behind them, contented having atleast making Ram come with him.
As they walked through a small shade of trees, low land leading to the coast was visible. Ram and the others increased their pace.
"So, Officer, tell me, what is it about you that I dont know," Ram said, still with his eye on the distant horizon.
"Sir, I am sorry. But I will not be able to tell you everything now. Let us reach the coast, I will introduce you to my friend whom I earlier talked about, and then we shall sit and discuss. But that, of you dont mind Sir."
Ram and Lakshman looked at each other through the corner of their eye. Just now, he wanted to talk to them so adamantly. And now, he delayed the process. What was he up to?
Ram understood the reason for his delay, and even agreed to it, but he somehow felt that his relationship with the man standing behind him was not like any other. As they moved further, certain memories flashed in Ram's mind in small breaks. The man he didnt know well still, felt so secure and safe to him.
No one talked for the next few minutes, till they heard the sound of waves crashing against the rocky shore.
"Sir," said Pawan, stopping and pointing at a house hidden behind a dense group of trees," That is where we have to go. KishKindha Resort. And behind that is the owner and my friend Sujit's house. He will welcome you warmly. Please come."
Ram could feel his goal nearing. The anxiety in him grew higher and higher as he thought of being closer to Siya and Urmila.
They entered the dense garden. More a jungle. It was meant to keep trespassers out mainly, but no distant guards stopped Pawan and the others. As if they knew him very well.
Suddenly, a yell,
"Pawan!!"
All 3 stopped and looked around. Someone had called to them for help. In this apparently abandoned place, other than the guests owners, was there someone else?
"Sujit?" called out Pawan. The very call scared Ram and Lakshman even more.
To their surprise, they saw a man slowly coming out from behind a thick bush.
As he stood up, Ram and Lakshman could not contemplate the situation.
A six foot tall man, well built and well dressed, sober; was hiding behind a bush and pleading for help in such a helpless tone?!
Pawan ran to him and helped him up. He held him by the shoulders and asked,
"Sujit my friend ! What happened to you ? Why are you ... Whats wrong?"
So he was Sujit, the two brothers grasped. They were expecting a man similar in build, but not circumstance.
Sujit looked at Ram and then at Pawan. Tears welled up in his eyes. He felt ripped off his self esteem. He defiantly did not want to project himself in front of anyone like this , ever. After all, he came from a very respectable family and was well mannered at heart and thought.
Pawan shook him up.
"Tell me Sujit, what happened?"
" I am extremely sorry, but kindly sit down here all of you. I have some things to say."
Ram and Lakshman sat after the other two. They could see the worry in Sujit's eyes. Perhaps, Raghavan had affected him too ?
Pawan placed his hand on Sujit's shoulder and said,
"They are the guests I was telling you about. Mr. Ram and Mr. Lakshman Suryavanshi."
Ram flinched a little at his identity being revealed, but he kept himself calm with the fact that there was no one here other than known confidantes.
Sujit looked at them.
"I am sorry I had to welcome you like this. I am helpless, I had arranged everything but, my brother. .."
"What happened with Balveer Bhaiyya?" asked Pawan.
Lakshman noticed how Sujit felt uncomfortable with the very reference to his brother. Something was wrong between them.
Sujit took a deep breath.
"He betrayed me."
Pawan, Ram and Lakshman, felt a new challenge uprise with a soaring wave crashing against a rock. Their first challenge had arisen.

Urmila struggled to open her eyes, them having being closed for so long. Her head throbbed with immense pain and her vision was still double. She could feel the ground moving under her, or wait, was the ground really moving?
She felt a strong pain in her throat, and before she knew, she threw up on a box next to her wooden bed.
SHE WAS AT SEA.
Urmila's hands were freed while her feet were tied to a plank end on the side of the door in her cabin on the lower portion of the ship she was being ferried in, to Vatika, something she still couldn't contemplate.
The cabin she was in was large, but after all, she was confined. A little window to let light through to her side was smeared with water droplets and the sunlight fell directly on her face, alleviating her pain even more.
"Where Am I? she said to herself in a low, almost sobbing voice. The smell and sight around her disgusted her even more, and her condition worsened.
"Siya Di ! Lakshman ! Ram Bhaiyya! Where are you all?" she yelled with whatever she could. But no answer. The sound of the waves deafened her, so she shouted again. But then she realised, she was all alone, amidst blue death.
She kicked and pushed and hit herself, but tried to free herself in all ways possible. She cried and fumed but didnt give up. Urmila turned and twisted herself and was thrown side to side with the movement of the ship, but she went on going.
At one point, she accidentally hit herself on a sharp end of a plank and groaned. She screamed as all her mind was rushing through and her heart pounded against her chest harder and harder.
"Lakshman !!!"
The door sharply flung open and came in rushing two masked men, who cleaned her room out. Urmila just looked at them. She cried on her situation and vulnerability.
As the two walked out, Urmila heard the sharp sound of boots against the wooden floorboard coming towards her.
The man walked in and stared right at Urmila. She looked down initially, but then shot up to meet eye with him .
He had a death stare. He was young, but his eyes reflected age and wear.
Indraneil closed the door behind him as he walked inside and faced Urmila. She adjusted herself to a closed position, but ready to attack if he came forward.
Neil just kept looking at her. For him, she was nothing more than a mere captive, a mere victims like the thousands he had seen. But for some reason , this victim was special to him.
Urmila yelled to him,
"Who are you?! Why have you brought me here?! Where is everyone ? Get me out !!"
"Quiet!!!" yelled Neil louder. Urmila didnt speak, but her eyes spoke so loud that even Neil had to look away.
"Why have you brought me here? Who are you?" she asked in a cold sharp tone.
"Where you are, in the Indian Ocean. And how I am, I am Indraneil."
It didnt take a moment for Urmila to reminisce the name. After all that he had done to her family, she couldnt forget him so easily.
"You bast.."
"Uh No!" he said in a sarcastic tone, inherited from his father. "No bad words please." He looked sharply into her eyes again.
"Or your situation can get worse."
Urmila laughed mockingly. Tears dripped from her eyes.
"As if it could. You kidnapped me from my family and now you .."
"Not only you."
Urmila gulped.
"Siya too. Welcome on this new journey."

Hehe yes 😆
Your first review here and it made me cry 😃😳🤗Originally posted by: KanhaKiChutki
So, I finally am unressing for 88 and 89.
88:It had a wonderful combination of things. Like, how they board the train, leave, then meet Ma Shabari. That scene was wonderful, it made me cry, the emotions were spot on. There was also that sense of despair, when Ram thinks of what is going on, one line, but wonderful emotions. So, our Pawanputra is here! I loved His entry! The best part, because I connect the best to it, is the BharMa part.Bharat's despair at what is happening, his whole demeanour, I can perfectly imagine. And Bharat and Maanvi trying to salvage their relationship and his life somehow, it was so.. emotional and something I can connect with.89:I loved the Pawan part and also the way you introduced Sujit. Balveer obviously is Baali. Nice names you've got here, by the way. Then, the Neil and Urmi part. It sent a shiver down my spine. Urmi and Neil were amazingly written in the scene.Overall, I think you got both chapters bang on. 88 had a lot of pace, events, things happening. 89 was more still and had some sort of.. thehraav, as they say. Loved it and looking forward to more 😃P.S.: My new name for my works, by coincidence is also Maanvi 😆
Thank you thank you so much Sanju!!! I'm so glad I can make you like it 😃😳
