Yesterday night in shuttle one of my shuttle mate was crying n talking her to mom in phone..

I could make out(from bits n pieces of tamil I know)she has lot of pressure from her MIL to produce their heir..

So if you are not married that is the only worry for your parents and if you are married so many worries as a girl..

Its only teru koothu (street tamasha) type class less fare.

You have a genre that is called Kuthu Dappanguthu which is nerve racking for people like me. many with Innuendo and sexual overtures...NAARASAM...

Wow! II takes on her first student. That girl Kalyani is lucky and she is going to thank and remember her ( assuming ,first) teacher for her life .And II (who cribs about her parents literally dragging her to paatu class) is going to make it interesting and engaging for Kalyani.

Music, she sings for happiness. She complains when she is forced to sing. And now she's decided to impart her knowledge. What nice way to channelize distress( professional ). This would have been on her mind for sometime , I guess.

Since it's on music , for me the crass and the slide in tamizh popular culture got accentuated , if I have to single out, would be that song " oodha Kalaru ribbon, unakku yaar Appan".

But yet in recent times Gautham Menon / Harris Jeyaraj thankfully still manage to give atleast one melody per movie starting from a Minnale, kakha kakha, varanam aayiram and as recently after a six year gap after they parted ways since varanam Aayiram , came yennai Arindhal. And outcome was chinmayi's Idhyathai edho ondru . Add to Thamarai's lyrics, there's still salvation from the dappan goothus.
Hey, coming to think of it there's a song ' anal mele panithuli' by Sudha Raghunathan in the surya movie varanam aayiram mwhich could go well for our couple here in terms of II being a balm to the dude. Worth a listen, I think...
( remembering Rom com Fan's gifs on surya now as I key this in , she used to jump in on discussions related to music here) 😊
