Part 3 B - AR TS tum bin kiya jaaye kaise

True love doesn't happen right away; it's an ever-growing process. It develops after you've gone through many ups and downs, when you've suffered together, cried together, laughed together.

She held his hand and said "Dekho Armaan...Tum wapus aa he gaye...Tumhe aana pada wapus Armaan...apni Basket ke liye aana pada...Aur ab mai tumse ek waada karti hu...mai tumhe ab kabhi bhi mujhse dhur nahi jaane dungi...chahe kuch bhi ho jaye...agar maut bhi aaye toh bhi tumhare saamne khadi ho jaugi...I love you Armaan..."

[Armaan..see..you came back..you ought to came back..For your basket..And now I promise..That i will never ever let you to go away from me..Whatever it is...even if it is about death...I will be the one facing it first..I love you Armaan..]

With that she kept her head near his shoulder and her hand near his heart and listening to his heart beats she soon went to sleep waiting for the bright morning after this dark night.

It was early in morning when Armaan opened his eyes. He blinked his eyes and stiffens feeling the pain in his head. He held his head when he felt some weight on his shoulder. He turns his head and saw Riddhima sleeping on his shoulder while holding his hand in her tight grip. For a minute he was in daze as he forgot his surroundings. Moments passed but his eyes didn't leave her side.

She was looking like a serene yet pure angel but he can notice her face which have turned pale and her dried tears which told him that she had cried a lot. He too felt bad for her when suddenly he noticed his surroundings. He was confused at first when the past event memories flushed in his mind. He remembered he had decided to leave Mumbai and will never come back here.

He was succumbing to his tears when he saw Riddhima's name flashing on his mobile. He was burning in so much rage that he threw his phone out of the car. His vision blurred and suddenly a truck came from the opposite side. He didn't know what to do so he just turned his car abruptly and his car got hit by a tree. Next he knew he was unconscious and some people were helping him out of the car and then it went all blank.

Armaan held his head as a sharp pain hit him. He winced a little and tried to get hold of the water jug. But as Riddhima was sleeping on his shoulder he could not move much. He was about to wake Riddhima up when he saw Atul entering in the room.

Atul saw him wide awake and made his way towards his bed and said "Armaan kya huya..kuch chahiye..."

[Armaan..What happen..you need something]

Armaan nodded and answered "paani...par Riddhima"

[Water..but Riddhima..]

Before Armaan could have said more Riddhima opened her eyes. She sat straight and then looked at Atul who was giving a sweet smile to her. She was confused but then she turned and saw Armaan wide awake. She didn't know how to react. She was feeling embarrassed so she stood up and excused herself.

Atul helped Armaan to sit properly and handed him a glass of water. Silence prevent as no one said anything. Finally Atul kept his hand on his shoulder and said Tune toh sabko dara he diya tha bhai..."

[You almost scared everyone of us..]

Armaan didn't know what was happening so he asked "Champ..bas ek accident he toh tha...I am fine now...bas sar par he toh chot hai...I am still alive"

[Champ...it was just an accident..I am fine now..just a small scratch on head..i am still alive..]

Atul stared at him for a minute or two. Owing to his condition he thought to drop the idea of telling him that how scared each and every one was. Atul just asked him to rest for a while and left for his duty.

Here Riddhima reached locker room. She was crying but this time her tears said a different story. She was happy...genuinely happy that Armaan has gained his conscious and he seems to be fine. She thanked God in her heart for listening to her prayers.

She decided to go and see Armaan but then thought against of it thinking maybe Dr.Kirti or their friends must be there to meet him. Somewhere she knew these are just the reasons to avoid meeting him. She can't face him like this. Atleast not before she apologizes to him for her deed. She thought of meeting him in Lunch.

In lunch time, everyone decided to go and meet Armaan. They hugged him and told him how scared they were when he was in OT.

"Armaan..by the way where were you and tum Sanjeevani aane ki jagah Mumbai highway par kya kar rahe the..?" Nikki asked

[Armaan..By the way..where were you...what you were doing on mumbai highway rather than coming to sanjeevani..?]

Armaan didn't say anything. Everyone was a little bit surprised seeing how weird he was behaving. At that time Riddhima entered and she felt the silence in the room. She then turned to Armaan who was already staring at her. She stiffened at that look. His eyes were showing something that she fails to read.

Everyone exchanged glances and then Rahul interrupted "Um..Armaan teri medicine ka time hai.."

[Armaan...time for your medicine..]

Rahul look towards Riddhima who nodded and gave him his medicines and water. Armaan was reluctant at first but then he gave in. Everyone felt that aloofness and thought to give them some time alone. They left one by one and stood by the door so that they can hear them & know what the matter is.

Once again silence prevails but no one said anything. But Riddhima knew it's time to say. So she turned to Armaan and held his hand and started "Armaan...I am sorry...us raat...mai...maine bina kuch soche tumhe itna kuch bol diya...I am really sorry Armaan...Please forgive me..."

[Armaan..I am sorry...That night..I blurted out things without even thinking..]

Before she can even complete Armaan interrupted her and said "It's okay Riddhima...waise bhi..yeh pehli baar toh huya nahi hai...jab tumne mujhe apni baaton se hurt kiya ho...Ab toh...Ab mujhe bhi aadat ho gayi hai.."

[Its okay Riddhima..Although..it isn't the first time when you have had hurt me with your words...Now i am habitual of it]

Armaan's voice choked while he said that. Riddhima sensed the pain and hurt in his voice and couldn't stop her tears of guilt for hurting him. She made up her mind that whatever it is she won't forgive herself. She made one more attempt and said "Armaan please...once...please for once listen to me..."

"Ridhima ..there is nothing to say..infact...there is nothing left between us...you are the one who finished everything with your own hands..." Armaan said turning his face away.

"Armaan..please.." She pleaded but Armaan just shrugged away her hand when she winced in pain owing to the cut in her hand because of the broken glass pieces.

Armaan got alerted and held her hand Riddhima you okay...Dard ho raha hai..Tum dhyaan nahi..." He abruptly stopped seeing her face. She was staring at him. She was delighted to know that he still cares for her.

[Riddhima you okay..it's paining...Why can't you take care..]

Armaan looks into her eyes and knew that he was fighting a lost battle. How much angry he is, still he care and love her the same way. He can't see her in pain because of him. He left her hand carefully and turned his back and asked her to leave him alone.

She was a bit disheartened at his behavior but knew that he is angry and needs time so she left without saying anything. Outside everyone was shocked. Armaan's behavior did not go well with them. They saw Riddhima coming out so they rushed to her and asked her the reason.

She tried her best to ignore their questions but her tears were ditching her. So finally she broke down and hugged her sister. Everyone let her cry for a while. Riddhima told them about their conversation that day. She told them how she ruined up everyone's happiness especially Armaan's.

Everyone was feeling helpless. They knew Riddhima was at fault this time but they also know she did not deserve this too. She has suffered a lot in these two days of agony without Armaan. She is ready to accept and apologize to him. But Armaan is still angry with her. Riddhima left from there and went to locker room.

She cried to herself thinking about Armaan's behavior. She knows she deserves every bit of it but on the same time it breaks her heart badly. She wanted to undo everything she said or she did but only if it was possible. She didn't not know what's going to happen next but she was determine to bear whatever Armaan is giving, be it love or be it his hatred.

On the other side everyone was still ponding over that Riddhima told them. They knew everything will be fine if Armaan will give a chance to her. Riddhima had died each and every second when Armaan was fighting for his life. They decided to talk to Armaan after their duty.

On the other side Armaan was in no good condition. That night's events were still fresh in his mind. He didn't want to hurt her but he was helpless. The hurt her words had caused him, not once but every time, is too much to bear. He knows he was at fault but maybe if she had just talked to him about the things and her feelings, maybe the situations have been different.

He thought about the moment he shrugged away her hand. He was more in pain than her when she winced in pain. That moment was all they need. He had almost forgotten that he was angry with her. Whatever the situation is, whether they are together or not he can never hurt her. The intensity of pain he was feeling was more than of her words which caused the pain that he felt that moment.

He knew he can't ignore her but this time he is hurt and it will take time to heal the hurt. He closed his eyes in frustration and let the tears flow freely from his eyes.

It was almost evening when Riddhima was pacing outside Armaan's room. He hasn't eaten his lunch properly and also denies from taking his medicines. She again took some fruits and snacks to him which eventually leads to Armaan's ignorance. He just asked her to leave him alone also telling her to leave him alone forever. She tried to convince him but he didn't listen to her any plead.

She was again heartbroken but nonetheless she left him alone. She had asked their friends to talk to Armaan and now they all are in Armaan's room. They knew Armaan wasn't going to be easy on them but they were well prepared to face him not for asking him to have his food or medicines but making him forgive Riddhima. She already had bear pain and hurt more than she deserve in these days.

"Armaan...Tu medicines kyu nahi le raha hai...Aur tune lunch bhi nahi kiya dhang se" Atul asked him while holding his shoulder.

[Arman...Why aren't you having your medicines..and you didn't even ate your lunch properly..]

Armaan ignored his question and turned his face away from him still he muttered "Kyuki mai thik hu...mujhe inn medicines ki koi need nahi hai..'

[Because I am fine...I don't need these medicines]

"Oye khotte dimag kharab ho gaya hai kya tera...kuch bhi bol ja raha hai..halat dekh apni...'Mai thik hu' bda aya mai thik hu wala..." Muskaan said mimicking him while giving him annoyed looks.

[Idiot...Are you out of your mind...Just talking rubbish..see your condition.."I am fine' huh..Yeah...you are mine..i can see that]

"Yeah Armaan...You need to have your medicines on time...Just because you are angry and not talking to Ridzy doesn't mean that you won't eat or drink anything she is giving you... " Anjali continued.

"She is also a doctor...and as per Dr. Kirti instructed she is one of your attending doctor too." Abhimanyu interrupted gaining angry looks from Armaan.

Armaan..we don't know what has gotten into your thick skull...but tum aise Ridzy ko ignore nahi kar sakte...' Nikki said trying to make him understand.

[But..you can't ignore Ridzy like this]

"Armaan...please..you don't know what she has gone through.." Anjali said while wiping a lone tear from her face.

"Anjy please...Stop siding with your sister...aur tum log bhi...tumhe kuch nahi pata ki usne mere saath kya kiya hai..." Armaan said getting offended. "And I am also a doctor. I can take care of myself...please ask her to stay away.."

[You don't know what she has done with me...]

Riddhima was listening to each and every word. She knew he was more than hurt. His words told her how much he is angry with her. She cleared her face of tears and taking a resolution not to come back to meet him until he asked her to, she went from there.

She didn't want to affect his health because of her. But she also decided to fast(vrat) for him until he get fit and healthy. All she wanted is his happiness whether she is with him or not.

In the room everyone was getting annoyed seeing this behavior. They knew Armaan is right on his part and even they can see he is very much hurt this time but they had also seen Riddhima crying uncontrollably for him. They have seen her breaking down; they even knew she had punished herself.

Whatever it is they want them to talk and settle their problems. At least it's better than ignoring each other and creating a distance between them.

Everyone had had enough of his tantrums about Riddhima. Rahul's anger rose to a level and he just asked everyone to leave the room as he wants to talk something important. Everyone made their way out as they know he can handle him well at least better than them.

As soon they left Rahul turned to Armaan and said "What's your problem Armaan...Tu Riddhima se naraz hai...we get that...But you are behaving like a kid...oh no..actually worse than a kid...'

Armaan gave him dirty look and said "Rahool...jis baat ke bare mein tu nahi janta hai...usmein you have no right to interrupt...and please yeh mere aur Riddhima ke beech ka matter hai...so please stay out of it.."

[Oh rahool..You don't know a thing about this situation..so better stay out of it...and please...this is between me and riddhima...]

"Well..okay then we'll stay out of it..." Rahul started to leave but then his work is not over. He knew Armaan needs Riddhima a lot so he did the needful. He turned around and said "By the way...we know everything...whatever Riddhima did or have said to you...We understand your situation Armaan...we know you are angry with her..and okay she is at fault too...But Armaan can't you just hear her out for once."

Armaan tried to say something when he said "Not a word...Armaan tujhe pta hai ..teri accident ki news sun kar kya haal huya tha sab ka...hum sabse jyada Ridhima ka...She had cried for you uncontrollably, she had sent enormous of prayers to God. You know Dr. Kirti had given her verdict ki teri condition bohot serious hai..tu treatment ko respond nahi kar raha tha,...They were scared that if you didn't respond we all may lose you...teri condition bohot critical ho chuki thi..."

[Not a word...you know when we heard about your accident..we were all devastated..and mostly Riddhima...She had cried for you uncontrollably, she had sent enormous of prayers to God. You know Dr. Kirti had given her verdict that you are serious..and not responding to treatment..They were scared that if you didn't respond we all may lose you..you were critical..]

Armaan was surprised listening to him. He knew he was having a head injury but didn't know that it was so serious. First time after gaining his conscious he was feeling guilty for talking to his friends so rudely. He literally forgot in his pain that what his friends have gone through that time.

"You know..Riddhima ...she fainted after reading your letter. She is still punishing herself for everything happen in past 2-3 days. She knew it's her fault but she is just asking a chance to undo everything. Armaan atleast talk to her. She is feeling guilty on her part. But you know what; in anger have forgotten that it was all started because of you."

Rahul stopped for a minute to gauge his expressions. He saw the traces of guilt on his face and he knew his words have already strated their work. He then again said "Armaan...we all were so scared...we thought for once that you will not survive..but it was Riddhima's love for you that you are sitting here all fine. She was adamant to bring you back...and that time you started responding."

Rahul left from there so that Armaan can have his sweet time to think about events. Indeed it was few hours that he had regain his conscious but they knew its now or never in their case.

From that time something changed, not that Armaan has left his anger behind but he apologizes to his dear friends for his behavior. But Riddhima had never visited him after that. It's been a week Armaan was shifted in a general ward. Everybody visited him now & then to know about his health but the person he wanted to see is nowhere in his sight.

She visits general ward or as his attending doctor but she never made any eye contact with him and tried her best to ignore him. But it's not that she wasn't trying to mellow down his anger. Not face to face but through flowers, cards and chocolates she was surely doing her work. Everyday Armaan woke up feeling Riddhima's presence around him but when he opened his eyes she was nowhere in his sight.

He was well aware that she visits him whenever he is fast asleep. He could feel her when he is asleep or not. And then the flowers she kept near him with a sweet get well soon card and a chocolate adding to its sweetness. Armaan was somewhere on cloud 9 seeing his Basket making attempts to manaofy him.

He had forgiven her but the problem is his ego which won't let him accept that and make a move towards her. Today also she had followed the same but something was changed as if she had already sensed that he is no angrier so for a change she wrote a poem for him.

"You look at me as if I'm the only girl around,

You make me feel important and never let me down,

You have shown me how to Live, How to smile, what to say,

You have shown me what it's worth; To love someone each & every day.

So this poem goes out to you, For everything you have done.

And I hope now you understand

That baby you're the one! I love You baby..!"

That's it for him. He knew he can't be angry on her for a long time. His love is beyond anything be it his anger or ego.

It was one such day when Riddhima was giving her duty in the same ward, and suddenly she was collided with a nurse who was carrying some test tubes and small glass bottles which eventually broke down. Riddhima tried to help the nurse when accidentally the glass piece cut through her skin at the same spot where she had got hurt week back.

Blood oozing out from her hand and she winced in pain. Armaan saw this and could not help but move to her. He took her hand in his and helped to remove the glass piece from her hand. It was paining him a lot and Riddhima could see through it but she chose to be silent. She simply removed his hand and made her way out of the ward.

Armaan sighed and followed her stubborn lady. He knew it's high time that they had their much awaited talk. He reached the cabin where she was trying hard to apply the antiseptic. She was having a hard time as the cut was deep. Armaan entered the cabin and made his way where she was standing. Riddhima felt his presence and turned around to see him standing so close to her having an angry look on his face.

She looked away not wanting to show him the tears in her eyes. She knew he will scold her for carelessness but he didn't. She was yearning to hear her name from him and he wasn't saying a word to her. He simply took her hand in his and started applying ointment he bandaged her hand carefully not wanting to hurt her. She winced in pain and closed her eyes but didn't say a word. As soon Armaan finished he stare at her while she looked away and muttering a small thank you she left. Armaan knew she was just ignoring him but he won't let go of her so easily.

It was night time and Armaan was well aware of the fact that Riddhima stays here even after her duty hours. She had made her routine to have a check on him after he dozes off. Armaan was pretending to sleep when he felt her near him. He felt her hand caressing his forehead following with a light peck.

He was in amaze of this lady. Here he was angry or pretending to be angry with her and she still loved him the same way. Not able to handle the urge he opened his eyes to meet hers. She was surprised to find him awake and moves backward but he held her hand on time and pulled her towards him. She was half lying on him and both forgot the world around them.

Moments passed and it was when Riddhima realized her position. She was going weak on her resolution of staying away from him but still she needs to get out of his grip. He was so lost in her that he didn't realize she backed away and almost ran from there. Armaan chuckled and simply made his way to terrace. He very well know that she will be there crying her heart out.

AS soon he reached terrace he saw her crying and her back was facing him. He couldn't control more and simply made his way to her and called her "basket.."

She closed her eyes hearing her name from him after so many days. Some more tears made her way out while her eyes were still closed. She felt his hand on her cheeks clearing her face while he huskily whispered near her ears "Mujhse aaj bhi tumhari aakhon mein aasoo nahi dekhe jaate hai Riddhima...Please stop crying..they really hurt me.. here..." He took her hand and kept it on his heart.

[I can't see tears in your eyes Riddhima...Please stop crying..they really hurt me...here..]

'She opened her eyes to meet his. Both were crying at that moment as if no words were needed. Riddhima gripped his shirt and hugged him tightly not wanting to let go of him. She was waiting for this moment when she can feel him and can believe that he is actually safe and here with them.

Armaan too held her tightly and let her be like this. He too needed that moment for himself. He really missed her. He can't imagine being away from her even in his worst nightmares and these days were not less than any nightmares for him.

"I am really sorry Armaan...please mujhe maaf kar do...Please" She cried hard while hugging him tightly when all the memories from past events flashed in his mind and his anger rose. He broke the hug and moved back while she was having a guilt trip again.

She held his hand in hers and started "Please Armaan...I am really sorry...I know it was my fault...I know mai hamesha tumse ladhti hu...tumhe kuch bhi bol deti hu...par please Armaan..uski itni badi saza mat dena mujhe...please..tum mujhse naraz ho jaao..chahe kabhi baat karna...par please don't ever leave me like this...Please...Mai mar jaungi tumhare bina Armaan...mai mar jaungi..."

[Please Armaan...I am really sorry...I know it was my fault..I know..I always fight with you...blurt utterly rubbish things..But Armaan..dont punish me so much for that...please be angry on me...don't talk to me ever...but don't leave me like this..]

By then Armaan was too having tears hearing her words. He knew she too had suffered a lot in these days. His condition was no less than her. He held her face and made her look at him and said "I will never ever leave you basket...agar kabhi tumse dhur ho jau...toh wo meri zindagi ka aakhri din hoga..."

[I will never ever leave you basket...and even if i get away...toh it will be last day of my life..]

She instantly kept her hand on his lips stopping him to say such things " Armaan...kabhi yeh mat bolna wapus...You have no idea...jab Dr. Kirti ne kaha..ki you are not responding to any of their treatment...mai..mai...Armaan please...phir kabhi mujhse dhur jaane ki sochna bhi mat...Meri jaan nikal gayi thi Armaan...Mai tumhare bina nahi reh sakti...I love you Armaan...I love you so much..."

[Armaan..don't say it ever again...you have no idea.when Dr. kirti told us that you are not responding any of their treatment...I..I..Armaan..don't ever think of going away from me...I was close to death...I cant live without you..i love you armaan..love you]

He smiled and said "Jab itna pyaar karti ho...toh kyu mujhe khud se dhur jaane ke liye kyu kaha..."

[when you ove me so much..why you asked me to go away..]

He stopped and while wiping away his tears he again said "I am sorry basket,..I know that was my fault..mujhe samajhna chahiye tha tumhe...Shayad mera pyaar he kamzor tha..."

[I am sorry basket...I know that was my fault..I should have understood you...I guess..my love was so weak that..]

She cut his words and said "nahi Armaan...kamzor mera pyaar tha...tumhara nahi...mai he nahi dekh payi...ki tumne wo sab kuch mere liye kiya...hamare liye kiya...Mai pata nahi kyu nahi samajh payi...I am sorry Armaan ...Please forgive me..."

[No Armaan..My love was wewak..not yours...I was blind..you did so much for me..for us...But i didnt't understood...i am sorry armaan...please forgive me...]

"Ssshhh.. basket...I am sorry too..." He said while hugging her.

"Armaan promise me one thing...chahe kuch bhi ho jaye...hum kitna he lade..but please don't ever risk your life...I can't live without you...aur chahe mujhse ladna naraz ho jana..par please don't ever leave me again..please" She said forwarding her hand infront of him.

[Armaan..promise me one thing...No matter what..how much we fight..but please don't ever risk your life...i can't live without you...And get angry..even fight with me..but don't ever leave me again..please..]

He chuckled at her said "Basket yeh.."

"nahi..Promise me...!"

"Achha Baba...I promise...agar kabhi tum mujhse dhur jaane ke liye kahogi bhi..I won't leave you..mai phr bhi tumhara saaya bann kar sath rahunga tumhare...happy.."

[Okay...I promise...even if you will ask me to go way..I won't leeave you..still i won't leave and I will be your shadow...happy]

"Very.." She smiled at him and hugged him tightly.

"Armaan do you have forgiven me.." She asked after some time.

"No" came a serious reply.

She looked at him confused and before she could say he continued "Ek condition par maaf karunga.."

[Only on one condition..]

"Kya.." She asked cutely. [what

"Is baar tum mujhe propose karogi..." He said winking at her.

[This time..you have to propose me..]

"Armaaannn...Yeh kya baat huyi..." She whined.

[Armaaanann..This is not fair..]

"maafi chahiye..sochlo..."

[you want forgiveness..? think]

He winked at her and kissed her cheeks while she blushed and hid her face in his chest muttering "Kabhi nahi sudhroge..."

[You won't change ever]

"I love you Basket.."

"I love you too Armaan..."
