Aabeer Gulaal reviews and box office
Sandhya, thank you for posting the summary of prologue thru Chap 10... this made me go back and read the story from the very beginning.😉😆
Khushi is very fortunate to have strong women role models in her life; be it her mother Garima, a successful landscape designer; her fiercely independent Patti Uma, or her feisty, hardworking Atha Madhu, who was gutsy enough to walk out of an abusive marriage and collaborate with her mother to run a successful bed n breakfast in Kotagiri. Growing up surrounded by these strong women has contributed immensely to Khushi being the spirited, tenacious, strong-willed young woman she is today. 👏
She is still battling her inner demons, blaming herself for the unfortunate abduction of her childhood bestie Anjali, but with Arnav's love, support and encouragement she will heal, and hopefully rid herself of the shadows within.
Chapter 11
Loved the arresting description of her Patti's house decked out for the party... the vibrant cushions, the glowing pillar candles, the fragrant colorful flowers, the mouthwatering aroma of delectable food, and the attractive table decorations on the back patio.🤗
Your meticulous description of the invitees, the gracious grand uncle, his gaudily attired, officious daughter-in-law, natty Akash, chic Lavanya, dapper Arnav and the classy, elegant and stylish hosts had me wishing I was one of the invitees to the party.😆Akash and Lavanya's closeness is a step in the right direction; I would love to see love blossoming between these two. The chemistry between Arnav/Khushi is unmistakable... love this flirty, smitten Arnav and flustered, rattled Khushi. 😳
I was upset to see Khushi smothering her growing feelings for Arnav and giving him the cold shoulder for the duration of the party. She makes matters worse by stating that she can't reciprocate his affections due to her upcoming relocation to Mumbai. My heart went out to Arnav; to be rebuffed in no uncertain terms by the girl you are attracted towards is unpleasant and distressing. 🥺
I do hope that Khushi will put all her self-doubts aside and give her nascent relationship with Arnav a chance.
Chapter 12
Your detailed account of the union negotiations is commendable. You either grew up in a tea estate in the Nilgiri's and/or have done in depth research on this. Once again the attention to detail is clearly evident in the outlining of specifics on labor strikes and union negotiations, the distinct differences between the two Raizada men, i.e. Arnav and his Chacha Pratap - their contrasting signature styles, their garb and bearing, all explicitly portrayed.👏🤗
This chapter also sees the introduction of two new characters - the suave Jose Thomas and his beautiful yet neurotic daughter Shreya. She could very well be a younger version of Aarti Raizada, identically excitable and irascible. Shreya is in denial as she is not ready to accept that she cannot have a romantic future with Arnav. I strongly feel that she along with her admirer Aarti will try their best to create impediments in the progress of Arnav/Khushi's romance.😡
All it takes is one incoherent phone call from Khushi for Arnav to forget his annoyance with her and rush to save his damsel in distress. 😆
Chapter 13
The depiction of Arnav driving in blinding fog, on sheer instinct, on dangerous narrow hillside roads gave me chills and had me sitting on the edge of my seat, murmuring a prayer that he reach Khushi without any mishap. This is the power of your eloquent narrative which effortlessly encourages your readers to paint a vivid picture in their minds and become a part of the plot.👏🤗
Khushi learns of another little girl disappearing without a trace, never to be seen again. This news brings forth frightful memories from her childhood when her best friend Anjali was abducted, shaking her to the core and bringing on an incapacitating panic attack.
All the missing girls with the exception of Anjali come from low-income families, who lack the means and ability to persuade the local and/or higher authorities to find and bring back these missing girls. Why has no NGO or similar organization looked into these tragic disappearances ? I am appalled by the cavalier attitude of the local authorities.😡
Arnav's shock on finding an unconscious Khushi, his feverish attempts to revive her, his concern and care; and Khushi's pathetic condition due to a panic attack, her anxiety and vulnerability have been skillfully portrayed.👏
Arnav's rushing to Khushi's side in her time of need, his sensitivity, tenderness and concern makes Khushi realize his true worth. He is a man to be appreciated, respected and admired as he truly cares for her and will always protect her, keeping her out of harms way. I hope that this rekindling of affection and awareness between them will kick-start their journey of love. 😃
Sandhya, in the midst of reawakening of tender feelings, you throw in an element of mystery in form of a shadowy stalker who is secretly photographing Khushi and surreptitiously trailing her all day. Who is this mystery man and on whose instructions is he following Khushi ?? I am very bad at guesses, so I will not even attempt to speculate. I leave the unveiling of this skulking stranger to you, dear master storyteller.😉🤗
I am excited about this intriguing story entering its next phase...looking forward to some passionate, tender moments between Arnav/Khushi.😳
