Bala went home Wed night without dinner. Ranjan summoned her downstairs after Bala left, R&B went to his office to work
"Kaise ho betaji, u have a new man in ur life Dad ko koi poochta nahi" he chuckled

"The new man is bald though" she smiled

"Hes quite cute... abhi milkar aa raha hoon" he said with pride

"U went to DII?" she asked shocked

"Yep... on the way down after seeing I saw Bala walking up the stairs" he smiled

II squirmed

"Aap udaas ho?" he asked intuitively

"Umm nooo Dad... no" she lied

"U can tell me u know..." he said smiling "Usne kuch kiya kya?" "Or kaha?" he asked

"Umm.. no... he doesnt talk much" she defended him

"Oye hoye" he teased

"Tey phir ki hoya puttar?" he asked softly

"I am just stressed I didnt ask my boss for Tuesday off next week ab pata nahi kya kahegi" II smiled

"Oh!!!" Ranjan contorted his face in a worried manner.. "Yeh to galt ho gaya puttar"

II nodded not feeling any better

"Chalo koi nahi, u ask ASAP" he said smiling

"I will" II nodded

"Ek chai ilayin puttar" he said

"abhi 8 baje?" she asked

"Kyon Punjabi kabhi vi chai pee lenge" he smiled

"Jee" she nodded
"Khaana ke ata pata hai?" he asked

"The chef refused to come tonight he had to switch, for tomorrow" she said

"Oh koi nai..."

II checked the kitchen

"achaari chicken, baingan, chana dal" she smiled

"Moon dal halwa khaane ka mann hai mera, usko kahin jara Malviya Nagar toon laayega" he said

II smiled

She pressed the intercom to the office

"Do u want chai?" she asked

"No... I am good" he said gruffly

"Umm.. OK.. bye" she hung u

she spent the evening with Ranjan downstairs, Manny came around 10 ish when dinner was being served
She looked sad II didnt say anything

R&B steped down when she pinged him again

"Khaane aaogey kya?" she texted

"Ya" he said and showed in 10 mins

"U dont like achaari chicken? the help said he was going to make some salmon?" she offered when he came down

"I can eat vegetarian" he said

"I think he is making it... I can make somethin else" she mumbled

"Thats why we have help" he said bluntly

"I love to cook..." she offered

He was quite pissed she had gone off cooking at Munirka and DII and ended up with oil burns

"Hows your burn?" he asked pointedly

"Garam paani mein jalta hai, but otherwise nahi" she said politely

She showed him her arm and withdrew, he held it feeling the area around the burn

she asked him EVERY night about his knee and elbow... she didnt give a damn about herself he noticed

"He makes yummy baingan" she tried to make conversation

Not knowing how much or what he had heard about her and Bala

He held her hand, as they sat down on the lounge chairs

Father and son discussed politics, she checked weather in a ipad laying nearby

"Socho kya karna hai" Ranjan said

"about what?"

"Bache ke liye?" he reminded

"Umm ya.." he looked at his wife

She shrugged disinterested.. "Umm... kuch" be she corrected course with a fake smile

"Phir to hum usko yaha le aate hain" Ranjan winked

"That would be the best" her voice quivered as she imagined that cute face with fine hairs and the bald head
Perfect fingers and toes... she had rubbed the heel all over her face, it was like butter

"chalo jee theek gift di koi load nahi... chhotu ko yaha le aayenge"

He watched his DIL's eyes sparkle and her sadness disappear briefly

"Saari raat rota hai Athim keh rahe the"

"To theek hai tera miya to sota wota nahi sambhal lega na" Ranjan smiled

She nodded innocently

"Subah mainnu pakda jaayin, maine retire ho jaana hai... bahar, swingich baitha jhulata rahanga" he laughed hysterically

"He will become fat and cute" she sighed

"Chaliye jee... fair te ore vaddiya" he smiled

"Bala doesnt think he will have a college account by then" R&B spoke thoughtfully

"Savvy hoti ho" Ranjan began

R&B looked at him startled... complete shock, not expecting Ma's mention

Manya looked up from her phone

"Saari bhaga daudi karti... usko sab pata hai kidhar kya dena hai" he said proudly to II

II nodded

"Paise de dange" he said

"Ihavent even seen the baby yet" Manya said grumbling
There was silence, she hoped someone would urge her

Her family didnt, II spoke up eventually "Aap chalengi mere saath?"

"Kal shaayad nahi" now that II had made an attempt to be nice, Manya was stiffening again

Strange girl!! II thought

"Whenever you want to go I can take you... until I am here" II said

"Where are u going?" she asked sulking

"back to Punjab?" II said

Ranjan sighed audibly

"Ek aata hai to ek jaata hai... pata nahi ais ghar ka vi" he mumbled, patted the cushion near him, sadly

"U knew I was always going to go" Manya spoke possessively, thinking Ranjan was talking abt her

"Teri baat nahi kar raha puttar... IN DONO ki" Ranjan said bluntly

Manya's expression of smug joy was crushed...

"Shaadi hui vi, tey saath rehne ka kuch pata nahi" he mumbled

"They both can be here" Manya ordered

She had a CAN WE TALK ABOUT ME NOW? look on her face

"I am going to check on dinner" she tugged her hand from R&B's clasp

"Moong halwa le aaya" Ranjan asked

"I am thinking I will just have that for dinner"II laughed

"U love it too?"

Umm ya" she nodded

"Its my favorite" Manny said, hanging her head

"Phir theek hai, aap aur hum aaj raat bas wohi khayenge" II smiled

"I would watch a Hindi movie with it" she smiled

"U want to?" Ii asked

Manya just looked

Ranjan and R&B held their breath like it was a lemon on spoon race...

"I guess" Manya mumbled

They ate together... talking about teh Zambian embassy and Malcha Marg development
And Manya took her bowl and went up

"I am going to go change, what movie did u want to watch?"

"Old?" asked II

"How about Mr Natwarlal" Manya laughed

II looked at R&B... he had a "do u want to pay for the movie now?" look on his face

"No I have work" he said frimly before she cud ask

"Tere miya nu aaj jara busy rakhanga puttar.. Jharkhand showroom ka kaam" Ranjan smiled

She nodded and went up to the first to the home theatre

II slept when it was almost done...

Manya pinged R&B

"Please collect your sleeping object"☺️ she sent a sleeping baby emoji

R&B sent his sister a half smile

Manya wanted to watch how he picked her up, but decorum wouldnt allow her😆

He placed a hand behind her neck
she woke

Found him an inch away... "Sorry" she begged

She sat up, indicating she didnt want to be picked up

She stumbled, held his hand and walked up.. didnt change out of her jeans just slithered between the sheets and knocked herself out again

He lay by her, slowly gathering her sleeping form, placing her head on his chest, hugged her tight...
They both slept fully clothed

Thursday, she woke at 10 ish... he was not home

amma texted her asking if she wanted to come see the baby

"Umm not today" II lied

"Yenn di, then why did u take time off?" Amma texted

UMMM YAA.. I DONT KNOW WHERE THEY ARE AT THIS MOMENT BUT I

she was still smarting from Bala's words

She didnt know what had transpired at D II after Ranjan left

It must have been bad Amma wasnt revealing anything

She was wanting to bring the boys over the weekend

Now she must shut up and MHOB

"why did u take time off if u have to be in Malcha Marg" Amma was being unreasonable

"Amma my husband is in town" II snapped

"Seri" Amma quit texting abruptly

He returned at 2 ish, she had showered ate brunch, practised her singing, went to paatu class

Cleaned the first floor a bit unrequested...

When she was rearranging some carved marble tables in the 1st floor lounge, she showed, in tan cargoes and a ink cotton full sleeve shirt

Folded up carelessly...

she paused and didnt say anything

"I"

"Did u go see the baby?" he interrupted

"Oh ya... I just got back" she lied

"Lets go" he said

And took her to Manesar..(more in next)

They returned at 7 ish...it was chef night so she didnt have to arrange dinner

Akka texted the dude at 7 ish" WHERE is she?"

"Hi! Vandita?" he said "In the shower I think"

"Is she not coming today?" she asked

"I can check" he said, realizing she never went to D II

He went to his office...
8 ish... she showered and changed

Knocked on his door

He gave her a REALLY? WHAT WAS THAT FOR? look,
they hadnt said much at all during the ride
In fact they hadnt said anything all day Thursday, he was gone until 2, they went to Manesar and back, without speaking much

"Can we make love?" 😳she asked, "will u give me a ride to NOIDA" type question

"NOW??" he asked, trying to sound incredulous, his heart skipping a fat beat☺️
he watched a lonely drop of water make its way down her left ear and hang from her pearl jhumka

Threatening to take the plunge

Why?" she asked incensed

"Umm no... I am not hungry... Thats fine if you don't want to," she turned miffed... to shut the door behind her as she let herself out

She walked out to the bedroom and picked up her book from the bed, heading to the sun room

He grabbed her by the master bedroom door, shutting it, and locking it

Bending down on her neck to drink traces of that last drop (from the earring) with an open mouth.
A long protesting moan escaped her, as she fought his trickery

Dude's anger for reasons unknown...she isn't sure what it is...she isn't sure he knows what she feels...she isn't sure if he is actually angry

He waits to for her to explain...he wants her to approach and speak?

Slowly analysing through his tactful ways if his DIL likes babies as much as he thinks she does...probing her and bringing out her love for the baby and keep all this in his record of points

Looks like someday he is going to present his case

Father son spoke about politics... After the mention of MA also?

She wants her family to tell her they care? Sometimes actions arnt enough I suppose

The movie

Yes II asked her...but manya accepted and watched!!!

What happened at DII?

Something did look fishy

Now bala will realise what he said?aybe its going to make things worse or maybe better not sure...I have 100 scenarios in my head... Won't discuss them...cos its best to wait for the author to take it her way

II trying to be normal and avoid embarrasement.

but her heart is all around the baldi.

She needs dude every minute either to argue with him scold him or even to calm her .

Manya once again feeling like no place for her there.

Did I read it right 'FATHER AND SON DISCUSSED POLITICS'

So much changed so much.Usually it was one sided.

Today Savvy's name came before RnB from Ranjan.

And i think she is not wrong in the convo with amma..

i mean come one if she does something they have a problem at least bala (though i understand his problem) and if she doesn't do anything like go and see him also they have problem (though vandu and amma doesn't know what had transpired)

Anyway, i don't know what to tell about dude's way of behaving with her..
