Noufiya,

Roza is a Urdu word which means "Day" it basically refers to the 30? days of Ramzan. I had many Muslim friends in Delhi, who are devout Muslims. I would patiently wait for Id, so a HUGE TIFFIN CARRIER filled with sevayin, lamb birynai and veg biryani would appear at work, there 4 Muslims at my first place of work, they would pretty much be on the road all day if it was a Summer Id taking these tiffin carrier from branch to branch, INCREDIBLY generous people.

Like Nivi says there are days when I am incredibly bogged down... today is one such day... There was a tree in the hospital lobby, a lil wooden "ring tree" of sorts with limbs going across... every cancer had a color ribbon "Together we fight" it said

The satin ribbon of every color had names of people age and the type of cancer, breast was pink, thyroid was orange... brain was blue or something

The tree was choc a block

I walked out in a daze... my 7 year old asked me "Can I have a bracelet too"
I thought "AYYYOYOOO"

NO NO NO... DONT EVER SAY THAT

I am unable to shake this feeling, incredibly bummed😭

I pray no such day ever has to come in your life. Or anybody else's for that matter. But it is a fact that we don't have all the answers to the "why's" of life. Maybe we do not know them for a reason. Life is meant to b lived in that dichotomy of knowing and not knowing.

We already discussed about organized religions and spirituality the other day. The only solace I find in continuing to try and do good is in the words that the 'purpose of life is service to mankind'. I think Swami vivekananda said it, not sure.

That's what gives the most satisfaction in life and I can actually feel that vibe from VANI here.

Any good you do kanna, however big or small, matters and always will. Let's focus our energies on that 😊

Apparently I left the SoSy tab open on my laptop when she was visiting during memorial day weekend. Now we have another member! Yay! 😊

its not karma...its something God's way to convey the meaning of the world .like nothing last forever and its his grace that he made us capable to find some cure too...

thanks shruti.i m a malayali.so not familiar with those words.we use nombu or noyambu for fasting...

Nisha i agree that it is very painful to attribute everything to Karma...i have been for the past 2 decades working on organic agriculture and see in the vegetable belt i work the indiscriminate use of chemicals. we seek quich fix solutins and bucks...india's farmer suicides are due to the ill effects of what has been glorified as GREEN REVOLUTION let us face it the food and lifestyle is contributing to this and the pharma majors would ensure no cure is within our reach...since the advent of antibiotics our lands rivers and air have become so badly polluted with toxins(the effects of radiation is excreted from our body for almost 6 months) it is the price of our actions but poor babies pay the price like the radiation victims in Japan...Very grim but true...
