CHAPTER 10

For the next few days everything remained calm and normal. One fine morning, Akash was sitting in his balcony when Anshi came and sat beside him and asked, "Kya baat hai bhai? You look lost." Akash looked at her and said, "Main bohot confused hun." Anshi frowned and asked, "Kyun bhai?" Akash replied, "Are bas vahi...hamaara case...kuch clue hi nahi mil raha." Anshi stood up and said in a teasing tone, "OMG! Pheli baar dekh rahi hun ki mera bhai...The great Akash Saluja...ek chote se case ke lie pareshaan hai." Akash made a face and looked towards the sky and said, "Haan hun yaar! Kya karun kuch samajh nahi aa raha."

"Tumse aur kuch expected bhi nahi hai!"

A voice said from behind. Akash and Anshi turned to see Ananya standing in her uniform with a serious expression. She came forward and said, "Yahan baithe baithe to case solve hoga nahi na? Kuch karo..." Akash asked, "Kya karun main?" Ananya sighed and shouted, "Apne informer se baat karo..u idiot!" Akash in the same tone replied, "Baat ho rahi hoti to tension mein kyun hota..u idiot!" At this Anshi burst into laughter and said, "Case ka to pata nahi par haan tum dono ka kya karun ye meri samjh se bahaar hai." Both Akash and Ananya said together, "Tujhse kisi ne advise nahi maangi hai." Anshi controlled her laughter and said, "Ohk guys!! Main jaa rhi hun! All the best!" Saying this, she left laughing. After she left, Ananya asked Akash, "Vo jo tumhe codes mile the unka kya hua?" Akash replied, "I tried decoding them but abhi tak kuch khaas pata nahi chala hai." Ananya just nodded.

After a few days, Akash came to the headquarters and went to meet Ananya. As he was about to enter her room, he heard her voice. She was talking to somebody on phone. He stood there to listen to the one-sided convo.

"Whatever you do, use kuch mat karna."

"..."

"Why don't you understand...uske saath mera koi relation nahi hai."

"..."

"Kya karoge? Maaroge mujhe? Fine! Maardo."

"..."

"Tumhari har baat ka jawab dena main zaruri nahi samajhti."

"..."

"Hamaara jo bhi relation hai vo yahan kisi ko nahi pata"

"..."

"Dekhte hain!"

Ananya disconnected the call and threw the phone on the table and sat with her head in her hands.

Akash was damn confused after he heard the conversation. He decided to talk to her. He knocked at the door. Ananya looked up and immediately stood up. Akash entered and said, "Vo mujhe na thori info mili hai." Ananya tried to be normal and said with a forced smile, "Thats great! Batao?" Akash stepped forward and said, "unke kuch aadmi to hume mil gaye hain but i don't think zyaada info milegi unse...pata chala hai k jo vo engine failure hua tha na...tumhari first flight mein? Vo in logon ne hi karaaya tha...to distract us...aur usi din inke kuch equipments flight mein transfer hue the." Ananya nodded when suddenly she remembered something. She jumped and said, "I think i know ye kisne kis tha?" Akash frowned and asked, "Matlab?" Ananya replied, "That day...maine dekha ki Rohit slipped something into Shruti's pocket...ho sakta hai ki uska koi connection ho?" Akash too gave a suspicious look and suddenly asked something that shocked Ananya to the core of her heart. He asked, "Tumhe Rohit ki wife ke bare mein kuch pata hai?" Ananya asked, "Rohit ki wife?"

"Rohit ki shaadi ho chuki...dont u know?"

"Na...nahi mujhe to nahi pata."

Ananya was continuously avoiding eye contact with Akash. this did not go unnoticed by Akash. he again asked, "But tum to use kaafi time se jaanti ho na?"

"Haan but...mujhe is bare mein kuch nahi pata."

Akash was about to ask something else when they were called by their boss. Their boss asked, "So hows it going?" Akash replied, "Kuch khaas nahi pata chala sir." He nodded and said, "Chalo abhi baitho and tell me what exactly are you planning to do." The three of them then sat and discussed about their plan.

After a few hours, both Akash and Ananya came back. Akash prepared the dinner and went to take a bath. Ananya entered her room and suddenly shouted at the top of her voice. Akash came out of the bathroom wrapped in towel, took a gun and ran to Ananya's room. He entered the room and asked, "Kya hua?" Ananya pointed towards the ceiling and Akash was boggled to see a lizard. He looked at Ananya with hopeless expressions and said, "Do you have any idea ki main kitna dar gaya tha? Tum itni bari bari baatein karti ho aur chikali se darti ho? Seriously?" Ananya looked at him and shouted, "Mujhe sunaana band karo aur ise bhagao." By that time, Anshi too came back and came to Ananya's room and asked, "Kya chal raha hai?" She was surprised to see Akash standing in a towel that too with a gun. She was about to say something when the lizard fell on the floor and Ananya shouted again and Akash was hell confused as he couldn't figure out what to do. The lizard started to move towards Ananya. She threw a few things at it and when nothing came into her hand, he pulled Akash's towel. But fortunately, Akash reacted at the right time and stopped her and shouted, "Paagal ho gyi ho kya?? Harkateein sudhar lo apni." Ananya again shouted, "Ise yahan se bahar nikaalo!" Out of frustration, Akash pointed his gun towards the lizard and said, "Ab to ye gayi!!" Ananya got scared and held Akash's hand and after a lot of struggle, finally they managed to throw the lizard out of the room. All this time, Anshi was laughing continuously and when Ananya and Akash looked at her, they both realised what they were doing a few seconds ago. Ananya turned red when she realised that she was trying to pull Akash's towel. She looked at him and fled before he could say anything. Akash too went to his room and Anshi again burst into laughter.

Akash and Ananya came to have dinner. Anshi was arranging the table. She went to the kitchen to bring the sabzi. Akash came and stood beside Ananya and taunted, "Itni bari bari baatein aur harkatein chuhe jaise...oh sorry...Chuhiya jaisi!" Ananya replied, "Is it? As in tum to HeMan ho na?" Akash replied, "Haan hun...aur vaise bhi atleast main kaam to karta hun...tumhe to bus baithkar aalo puri thusna hai.." Ananya too replied, "Chaar din se code to decode hue nahi...tumhe bhi to baithkar bas aalu puri thusna hai." Anshi came back with bowl of sabzi and kept it on the table. She looked at Ananya and Akash and saw them glaring at each other. She looked at them for a few seconds and said, "Yaha khaane ke lie aalu puri hai...Aadmi nahi!" at this, Ananya and Akash looked at her and sat to have dinner.
