We did and thought it may seem like it should end, when you have a common question such as how do you get more readers popping up quite frequently, I find that perhaps some discussion is needed.

I myself also want to help people as well. I know I have decided when I have finished writing my own single FF I am going to become a reader and anyone who wants me to read their stuff can approach me but maybe a new solution could be found to solve this elusive goal of gaining more readers. I am not the best to answer it but bringing people together might.

This forum has many writers and silent readers who can give their opinions, tips and advice. Those wishing to write or improve their can use them to help them. Shenz has given some excellent points which are very valid as well.

Getting writers talking and interacting might seem funny but I think it would be useful. The writer to reader thread tries to do this on some level. But you need to want lots of willing and active people for such a place or it dies quickly.

I am sorry but I need to say this, I love the Writers to readers thread on this forum. The initiative is indeed a commendable thought.

We're all choosy otherwise everyone would have the same number of readers as everyone would read everybody's work wouldn't they? I like reading and writing.

Well that's true. Everyone has their list of preferences. I have mine. But reading is always a refreshment when I have a good read. And writing is a way to portray emotions in the best possible manner.

I think the question how to get more readers has no guaranteed solution like if anyone approaches me with his question I cn suggest few things like I already did bt I cnnt I cnnt ensure u u will have more readers if u implement my ideas... there is probability factor bound with my suggestion it may work or it may nt! I think this factor will rest for everyone taking part in the discussion but yes getting readers nd writers together can help both understand mentalities of each other... I nowhere mean getting writers readers together sound funny arn't we doing same as volunteers in Writers to readers thread? that thread is a great initiative helping many around...I volunteer there so do u nd many others when we have time bt we do have life outside IF too nd the hread may go into comma if no one comes there I guess for such a reason the concept of Beta readers is being introduced so that IF has a official team! nd Ofcourse yes I will too help the ppl who want me to help them on my par If u come with any such thread plz inform me😳

Exactly the point, the standard suggestions of promotion don't work for everyone and can't guarantee anything. The issue then becomes what do you when those fail?

Yes, we are doing the same on that thread that is why I am hesitant to create something else when something similar is available. That wouldn't be much help would it?

Yes, we all have commitments outside IF. Even the readers. I always say life before IF.

Nice one Arya , surely different factors affect different readers . For me someway or the other all the factors do make a difference . All the reasons help me to read ff of different people . But if I had to choose one then the couple really matters to me , I mean if I don like the couple then there is no way I m going to read the story even if my best buddy will write it . 😆 sometimes I m not really interested in some couple at that times other reasons such as story plot , writer and their style will matter :D if my buddy will suggest me to read a FF I will surely will unless I got no serious hating business with the story character . So this is what really makes me attract towards a ff . My opinion may differ from others
