Part 18

Neha struggled to open her eyes. When had she left Shiv's room and his house? When had she come home and fallen asleep? As her eyes opened, panick struck. This was not her room, she had never left Shiv's room? Neha sat up in shock, to find Shiv right in front of her, smiling. His smile was not recoganizable, it was one that made Neha's heart beat faster, in a way that she did not understand. She wanted to leave as soon as possible. Suddenly Shiv arouse from the bed, and stood in front of the mirror of his room, while Neha continued to watch him unable to move. She wanted to rush out of the room but it seemed as though her hands and legs were tied to the bed, even though that was not true. She was free to leave. Yet she was unable to move even a finger. Neha gazed into Shiv's eyes as he watched her through the mirror.

Pieces of glass flew everywhere, as the mirror in front of Shiv was shattered into pieces. Shiv's clenched fist bleeding as furiously as tears streamed down Neha's face. "I love you Shiv, I love you!" Neha wanted to yell out, but she was unable to speak. She wanted to now rush to Shiv's aid. But once again she was unable to move. She was helpless, and felt disabled. Shiv was hurt and Neha could offer him nothing but her tears.

"Neha!"

Neha breathed heavily as she awoke from her sleep. Her body drenched in sweat. Neha slowed her breathing as she swiped her hands over her face to regain her senses.

"Neha? Are you alright?" Shewta asked, placing her hands on Neha's shoulders. Neha did not reply and remained silent. Still trying to recover from her horrid nightmare.

"Neha, I have made a mistake, a big mistake and I am sorry." Shewta continued. She got off Neha's bed and walked towards her window. "Neha, I knew Shiv before that whole marriage thing happened. Actually it was me who went to his grandfather and asked him to bring his rishta to our house."

"What?" Neha asked, shocked.

"I got to know Shiv, through Natasha. He was her brother's best friend. We all would always hang out together and Shiv and I started liking each other. We went out on a couple dates, and you know how Shiv is, he is so charming. Well I started to really like him and wanted to us to be more serious about our relationship. But then he broke up with me, saying he is just not the serious type. I was really hurt Neha and I had never failed at anything before, I just didn't know how to handle it. So I decied to tell Shiv's grandfather everything. I knew Shiv could not refuse him. I just wanted to make Shiv feel the way I did, break his heart. To reject him when the rishta came. I never thought Papa would ask you to marry him instead, and that you would say yes. And then when Shiv never showed up, at first I was really relieved, but when I would see tears in your eyes, I would hate Shiv even more. I didn't know what to do. I just wanted Shiv to feel how we did. And so when he returned I thought of it as a chance to break his heart again. I never expected it to get this far. And you know what is the funny thing." Shewta now let out a little laugh as tears fell from her eyes. She walked back and sat on the bed, facing Neha. "Neha I never loved Shiv, I thought I loved him, and that my heart was broken, but I never knew what love was, till this morning. When I looked into your eyes, and I realized you had fallen for Shiv. I wanted to tell you all this then, but I just couldn't gather up the courage. I am sorry Neha." Shewta could not speak anymore as she was crying openly now.

"Didi, but what I did was right. I had to break Shiv's heart. I was wrong about Shiv, he is just how you said he was. He has no respect for women. He told me, how he never cared for me! I was just another girl for him. I know it will be difficult but I will be fine." Neha try to console Shewta, but how could she, when she herself was crying.

"But Neha, what you told us about Shiv. I mean the way he treats you, and everything that he has said to you, Natasha and I were surprised. Are you sure he doesn't care for you? Natasha has known Shiv a long time and she was telling me, how he had changed since he met you." Shewta paused for a moment before continuing "Neha, if we can find a way to break his heart we can always find a way to bring you both together." Shewta now smiled for Neha. Wiping Neha's tears. Neha did not reply and simply hugged her sister.

Naina walked into Neha's room. "Okay that is it! No more crying or sulking, I have been listening to both of for the last half hour, being all sentimental. It is my friend's birthday today and he is celebrating at the new club. We are all going. That is final!" Naina grabbed Neha and Shewta's arms "Come on, get up! Plus from tmr we have something new we have to plan for" Naina gave Neha a little wink, trying to cheer her up. Neha smiled.

I guess i should clear that, I will edit it and add it in the story. Acutally she just wanted to reject Shiv when the Rishta came, you know insult him, but she never expected her father to ask Neha to marry Shiv and she never thought Neha would say yes....like she didn't want it to get this far....i hope it makes sense😳
