Spending those few minutes with her in the morning must have cemented his hopes of seeing them together, of getting the normalacy and easy companionship back in their lives. Her comparatively easy submission in the car must have taken his hopes to a higher level because the way she caved into the heady desire shows just how much she misses 'them'.
He is really making efforts in rebuilding their broken relationship and it seems Khushi is being equally honest with her efforts too because otherwise she wouldn't have let him into their room, go grocery shopping with him, inform her parents about his achievement of for that matter allow him to continue with his teasing ministrations. Her past is really intriguing and probably holds all the answers to the unsolved questions of the other 'why's' of their relationship.
Those few minutes she spent alone in the toy section were more than sufficient to coerce her into building back all the broken walls around her heart. There is definitely something to with a child, I am not sure if it is something to do with their kid though. Their upcoming trip should fund many more answers.
