...
Soon enough , their plane landed at goa airport. During the whole flight , Sanyukta kept mum , giving rise to an awkward silence between them.
Randhir was confused as well as aroused.
She was definitely bad for his concentration. He had kept on peeking her through his lashes , soaking himself in her beauty.
Randhir's driver was waiting for them and they were in the villa in half an hour.
It was Huge.
Beautiful and luxurious, it even had a private beach . The walls were covered with multicoloured Bougainvilles.
Sanyukta loved the weather. A smile crept up her face , lightning up her features.
''Find me someone as beautiful as you'' he spoke out of the blue.
Sanyukta looked at him. He wasn't joking.
''Why , thank you!" She meant it.
''The weather is lovely here!" She couldn't stop herself from saying.
''AND Some one who has better things to talk about than the weather!" He chuckled.
''You mean someone who's like me , but not me!?"
'' Definitely !" He teased.
Sanyukta knew he was joking but that didn't matter. She knew she wasn't soft. She was all hackles and prickles.
Which definitely made her less desirable. And considering her past , she was sure , no man would like to be with her. She HAD to get over it someday.
Just NOT today.
''Charming!" She snapped , all hurt , turning and heading towards the staircase.
''Sanyukta! '' Randhir caught her arm and turned her to face hiim , his dark eyes , intense.'' I am sorry. That came out...it was a bad joke.''
She shrugged and tried to pull away from him. His touch. His heat.
''Its nothing. Just that I am tired. Let's call it a day. I'll meet you tomorrow.''
He released his hold on her , her skin still burning where his flesh had touched hers. Scorched hers.
Reflexively, she rubbed her hands on the place where he'd held her.
''Its nothing . I'm fine. Trust me''
''You don't look fine'' he said looking in her eyes , as if trying to find something.
''I'm not vying for the position of your wife. Remember? I m here to help you find her. And believe me , I will!"
''Have dinner with me."
''Where?!"
''Here , in the villa."
''Okay.''
''See you at eight. And please, don't bring you i-pad with you.''
''Why!"
''We won't be discussing business Sanyukta! See ya!" He took hold of her hand and pressed a chaste kiss on her knuckles.
And he went.
''I won't change my dress! Its not a date.'' She mumbled while climbing the stairs.
