It was such an emotional update!! After each update the emotional quotient seems to be rising or say raising, either way it is becoming too much of a heart ache. Hope all of them find happiness in the form they are looking for.

Each of their expectations meeting a dead end and just trying to be afloat to keep going in life.

The way Meera was totally disappointed since her two best friends did not turn up, she being a child was able to show her emotions openly, while Khushi had learnt to not show what she misses in her life. Wish could have given a hug to Maya for her heart to have broken when she did not find them there.

Maya, what a great person & friend she is. Love the understanding between Arnav & Maya and the understanding between these two with Kailash. He has been a great support, or else this bonding would not have been possible. Glad she gave Arnav the push to take the trip with Mohan to spend time with Khushi & Meera.

Looks like Khushi has never talked her about her fear of people leaving her behind. Did NK know about it, was he able to help her the years he was with her with his love. Or is Arnav who is going to know about it, now that she has talked to Lavanya about it. Will Arnav & Lavanya be able to help her.

When Will Khushi accept wholeheartedly that she deserves a chance at happiness. When life is offering her a second chance and when the people around her are also rooting for her to have a happy life she should take it. What gave her a thought that she should not go after happiness. She would have wanted it for NK and NK has always wanted it for her. Luckily Arnav has told her he will not let her go this time. What ever mistake they did the first time around they won't repeat it this time.

Looking forward to their surprised faces the next morning finding Arnav & Mohan in Mathura. Will Arnav find Khushi up as always when he arrives.?

The emotions you bring out in these characters...The characters comes to life. You feel what they feel.

I love the friendship that Arnav and Maya has developed for Mohan. Loved Maya for returning the favor. You won't know unless you try. Loved how maya said your Khushi Gupta.

I love La for encouraging khushi to take the second chance. Loved how La said your ASR.

Khushi let him go the first time. She waited for him even though she let him go.

Everything happens for a reason. They were not ready the first time. They were meant to have this second chance.

I'm not very good with expressing my thoughts in writing here are some quotes to share my thoughts.

"I've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as making a "life." I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance. I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw something back. "I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow."
-Maya Angelou
"Love is also not mutually exclusive one of the other. Loving again does not mean that the love for a late beloved somehow goes away. It doesn't. Furthermore, loving again does not dishonor or disrespect the person who is no longer here, nor does it disrespect the memory of that person. This is a concept that can create a fair amount of discord (especially within families) when a widowed finds companionship or love once again." Unknown

Ps. Thank you for the early and long update but still left with wanting more

How would it feel if you just won a big prize but somehow have a hard time getting on the stage to pick it up😃. Being appreciated by the likes of Mira is easily one of the ultimate prize of my aspirations. And for all the blabbering I do, I truly am at a loss of words for once on where to even start my appreciation.

Putting your thoughts out there is sometimes more like an emotional striptease😊. It is like this "falling from the heights" dream where you keep waking up sometimes, keep hitting the ground sometimes but today, with all the appreciation around, it feels like I am actually flying through the fall and to be precise, I think I am actually soaring😃

Many personal stories are an inspiration but mine is a purely an inspired one. Being a silent reader at the beginning suited me just fine until it was so hard not to be touched and moved by so many stories and reader comments out there. It is a privilege to be in readerhood company of the likes of Ruchi (@Arshi67), Kavi (@canapoem), Jay (@jduke), @Raila1014, @Anu567, @rulama (I am sure there are many more) and being fed and being inspired by the writerhood company of the likes of Jigs, Jenny, Deepthi, Choti, Mira, Sandhya (I am sure my shaky nerves always makes me forget many others). I still consider myself a fresher to the IF world and looking forward to graduation which is way long away from now😊.

Now that I have pinched myself to reality, let me get to this chapter. From opening to the end, this one easily is for the classics. This one is a goody bag that you can pick from blindly and end up with a gem no matter what. I am highlighting some of my favorites for my own sanity of doing some amount of justice with my comments.

minutiae and BIG PICTURE:

You are one writer whose minutiae never loses the sight of the big picture. But, reading the same in your words, I am sure would have been a pause moment on any brain to reevaluate the minutiae's and the big picture of its own life.

Extending the words a bit more, your minutiae on ASD and the big picture of how it's all about simple "differences" and how it's just about what "can be" rather than what "cannot" was absolutely spot on. I will gladly admit that it was truly a lesson for me too.

Lifes's Dictums:
Yes, who would not want to know what it is, if ever there was one? To borrow my own comment on another story, having a glass, seeing it half full, seeing it half empty, breaking the glass, seeing it full, seeing it empty, pouring into it, and drinking from it, always comes down to your own dictum.

Glasses, mirrors and sometimes even our eyes can make objects seem closer or farther but it is always our mind that controls us in seeing it as it is, or seeing it as we want it to. For me, Khushi's forced perception is leading her to her optical illusion and in that condition, no amount of new horizons or new landscapes would help. What she needs actually is a new set of eyes😊.

Conventional friend and unconventional relationships:
Talking about a new set of eyes, who can be better than Lavu. "I cannot believe that our hearts are that limited in their ability to love again" - adding to that would be sacrilegious but not appreciating that would be even bigger crime. Reading through that section made me realize that some tears are contagious and being a mom of two kids, for the first time, I am happy about something contagious.

Maya/Arnav - "nothing about their relationship was conventional" - If unconventional is mysterious then I guess that mystery is in our eyes. Often times, in our eager desire to name things first, we often forget the unique value of seeing things first. You choice of picking a relation like this, and your portrayal is just remarkable in so many ways. I am sure even the most conventional critics about these things would have a hard time not changing their views looking at the core of what they have for each other.

Lastly, with all the adrenaline now, I feel like I can write chapters about this chapter 😉 and want to read more of this already. But, I know that great things should be savored in smaller quantities 😊. So, I will gladly and eagerly wait for the next turn and please do note Mira, your early surprises are always appreciated and always makes us happy.

Miracles were just second chances if you really thought about it--second chances when all hope was lost.

- Kaya McLaren

Mira, another symphony of words from you. 👏
Was I disappointed like Meera when Arnav did not show up at Khushi's door step, yes.

Like a sports fan rooting for his favorite team to win, every update I keep rooting for this couple and hoping that today Khushi will atleast think that she can love again, she can rekindle that lost love again. But I know these things happen slowly yet I keep hoping for a miracle to happen before reading each update.

"Will I never be able to touch him? Never ever?" There was such desperation in Meera's voice

I cant help but smile at Meera's thoughts and worries. She has welcomed Mohan so much into her life that she is even visualising that she will be with him always.

Again Arnav and Maya's friendship is a maya for me. And then add Kailash into the picture and it further adds to my curiosity.

Khushi's thoughts about Mathura and widowhood made my heart sad. Will someone please tell her that gone are those prehistoric times when society thought that happiness ends for a woman when she enters widowhood. Now life is ready to give her a second chance, her share of happiness again. She just has to open her arms and welcome it!!!!

A big hug to Lavanya for trying to help Khushi to see what she is purposefully ignoring.

Oh man, its going to be tough to wait for another 10 days for the next update knowing that Arnav must be driving towards Mathura now along with Mohan. 😭

May I say that I am just as disappointed as Kushi and Meera that ASR was not at the other side of the door? But a little delay, a little separation will make the heart grow fonder, yeah? I sure think that was Kushi pining away because of his absence. Glad she realized that she may have pushed him away with her lack of reciprocity to his advances. Now she is in the city of widows telling herself she does not deserve a second chance at happiness because that is the way of life for widows. Well I am glad Lavanya called her from across the oceans and played the devil's advocate making her second guess herself. I simply love their conversation. Lavanya is my kinda girl and Kushi is lucky to have her in her life. Her advice is golden and she has kushi's back. Yes Lavu, Arnav Singh Raizada is one hot dish that your friend is simply tying too hard to stay away from. Well, when one refrain oneself from something delicious for too long, one ends up binging on it. So let's hope that Kushi's binge is about to come.
I also love Meera and her innocence. I have a daughter exactly the same age as your Meera in this story. Very happy go lucky kid with a huge heart who question many things in life but through it all the childhood exuberance is so contagious. i can relate to how hard she goes at it during the time she is awake and just falling asleep at the drop of a hat when she is finally in bed. Meera's questions about Mohan's condition was so innocent and I love your response via Kushi and will surely make use of it with my 8 year old. Love that Meera has developed a bond with Mohan already and is looking forward to more interaction.

So a running Dr. Raizada to the nursing station reminded me both of Dr. Ross in ER and McDreamy in Grey's Anatomy - quite a sight for all females' eyes I am sure. Funny how both Kushi and Arnav check their phones for messages from each other. Guess he wants to know whether she was disappointed that he did not show up. How I wish there was a camera in GD's car to capture her disappointment for him to enjoy. It is nice to see Maya trying to reciprocate what Arnav has done for her. These 2 surely have the best relationship that 2 exes can have. the friendship they shared before they got married was cemented by the emotional ride they went though after their son was born. Love the words you used to describe how he has seen her in her worst. It is nice to be able to go back to that friendship even when the marriage did not work.

Everyone is rooting for them but will Dr. R be able to change the mind of the widow who is afraid to take a chance on them? Only Mirabell can tell.

This story was inspired by Maya Angelou's words as well. :) And your words, whether they are your own or borrowed speak so beautifully. Thank you. ❤️

Thank you MB for a lovely long update. I love all your characters. Each one is so real and believable. Also it's rare for exes to have such a great relationship post a split, even an amicable one. So if people are mature, it's possible to be still good friends, not lovers hmmm.
Can't wait till the next one. But no pressure, being a writer is hard work and I preciate that.
Cheers!
