Such a movingly painful line. Sumitra and Manorama's conversation left me realising that. despite the empathy I think I can feel, I can't truly comprehend the depth of pain they have been ravaged by. Sometimes in life you meet people who you feel a strange affinity with. Treasure them always.
I really liked the way you showed Manorama looking beyond Arnav and Maya's divorce. She can't understand the equation they share, but she has the depth to want to.
Meera and Mohan, what can I say? You have written them so beautifully. I refuse to believe any of your readers didn't have tears rolling down their face at that conversation. And then didn't cry some more at what Maya and Arnav felt when they heard their son laugh. That what we take for granted as being an instinctive reaction, so precious for both of them.
Meera is such an affable child and sharp as a tack. Love how she caught Arnav's little slip over GD! The more I read about her, the more I fall in love with her. Her quietude, her natural empathy with people, her endearing inquisitiveness, all a joy to read.
I feel Arnav understands Mohan better than Maya does. That's not to say one loves their child more than the other. It's just that Arnav is more attuned to him.
As always, Arnav and Khushi's conversations, be they written or spoken, leave me hankering for more. I'm hoping it's Arnav who is accompanying Mohan to Keshavdev Mandir, where he who inspires divine love was born and the Taj Mahal, which itself is "a love poem in marble". Waiting to see how it touches them.
