Oh no, don't worry about that. I always complete my stories. It gets frustrating for me to leave a story midway. :D

The story is full of mysteries. Randhir was away for two years. Why? What actually happened with Sanyukta? Which incidences create so much changes in her? Did she need a Counceller as the cope said?

Chapter 3

That day Randhir entered college and the first sight he saw was that of Sanyukta in a fight with a senior. Randhir shook his head in dismay, this girl really found ways to get into fights. It was like her second nature.

Behind her was a boy shivering with fear. "Sa... Sanyukta...let it go... please." He heard that boy say to her.

"No Tanmay..." she said over her back. Turning back to them, "Now if you don't stop ragging juniors I will complain to the principal."

"Oh..." Varun, the senior, made a mock scared face. "Look... I am so scared." His sidekicks guffawed at his smart' reply. He took a step towards Sanyukta, who did not move a single step backwards, and said, "Listen girl, don't get in any mess with us or the consequences," he looked down at her, "will not be good for you."

Randhir rolled his eyes. Varun could not have come up with a more clichd dialogue. But he did not like the way he looked at Sanyukta. Instinctively, he moved forward and pushed Varun away from Sanyukta standing in between him and her.

"I don't need your help," Sanyukta hissed from behind. "I am fine."

"Just shut up." Randhir whispered back.

"Who are you?" Varun demanded. "I am busy right now, get lost."

Randhir opened his mouth to say but Varun suddenly looked over Randhir's back and said to his friends, "Come on let's go." He rushed away leaving both of them alone.

Randhir looked over his back to see Professor Deshmukh approaching them his head sunk deep into the file in his hand. He smirked inwardly realizing how much of a coward Varun was.

He turned to Sanyukta who glared at him. "You were not required here," she retorted.

He looked at her for some time before saying, "Whatever," and looked away although he did not leave the place. Sanyukta stared uncertainly for some time and then left. Randhir was sure he saw a slight smile on her face.

"Food." Randhir said sternly.

Sanyukta sat beside the bed with her knees to her chest. She looked up at the plate in his hand. In a second the plate went flying off from Randhir's hand and fell on the floor with a huge clatter. Randhir stood motionless for a while before kneeling down near the plate and picking up the food, wordlessly.

"You could have said you don't want to eat." Randhir said. "You did not have to waste food for that."

Sanyukta watched him quietly consolidate everything splattered on the floor, placing it on the plate and leave the room. After a little while, he came back and retrieved the first aid box from his drawer. He had made a quick rendezvous to the pharmacy and restocked his box. The stuff in there had expired a year ago.

He stretched his hand to hold Sanyukta but she moved backwards. He forcefully held her and removed the dressing applying a new one. She did not resist anymore. Randhir kept to his business, his mind running off to a different scenario.

"Miss Agrawal," he exclaimed to the back of Sanyukta, who had been ransacking her bag which was conveniently stationed on his bike.

He heard Sanyukta curse herself before turning to him. Randhir only smiled at her with the widest grins. "It's like destiny wants us to meet again and again," he crossed his hands over his chest as he observed her, amused. Sanyukta Agrawal was actually blushing deep red. He couldn't help but bask in the thought that he brought that blush on her face.

"Screw destiny," she snapped. "I was just searching for my pen," she mumbled, "and I had to use your bike for that. Bloody destiny."

"Convince yourself as much as you want to, love, but we both know what it really was," he said.

"It was nothing, you desperate creep," she growled, before storming away.

Randhir turned back to his bike, fumbling in his pocket for the keys.

"Thank you, by the way," he heard Sanyukta call out from back. He turned around to find her eyeing him with hesitance. "Thanks, for coming to protect me. That was totally not required," she added, forcefully, "but thanks anyway."

"My pleasure," he replied, "although I would suggest you to not get into so many fights. Sometimes, it gets me worried."

The little redness that had drained out of her cheeks came back in full force. She huffed out a deep breath before muttering, "Whatever," and left.

Randhir was totally intrigued by this girl. This girl, who didn't think twice before assaulting a person with twice her strength, got so coy at the slightest compliment. You are one hell of a girl, Agrawal, he thought as he kicked off his bike and zoomed out of the college premise.

Randhir quietly kept everything back in the drawer and left the room. Once he was out he locked it safely from outside. Exhaustion washed over him and his knees gave in. He slid down to the ground right there near the door.

He pressed his head in his palms trying to press the hammering pain out of his head. What was going on? Why was Sanyukta behaving this way? Sure, he left her without informing her and yes, he did not contact her in the past two years, but after he came back, she was the first person he wanted to see. She was the first person he contacted.

A lot had changed since he had left. For one, when he went to Sanyukta's residence, he found out that her family no longer resided in that flat. He called her and found out that she had tried to commit suicide. Sanyukta Agrawal, the fieriest girl he had ever known, tried to end her life. He still found it hard to wrap his head around that incident.

Her face no longer had that fire. Those eyes he had badly fallen for now were lifeless, blank. And she was only passively resisting him. The girl he knew would have kept banging the door till all it's hinges separated from it. What was wrong with her? Why was she so broken? He was sure his exit from her life could not mean so much to her, not at least so openly.

"Mind you language Randhir. And leave me." She pushed him away from her.

It was freshers' party. Everyone was celebrating in the futsal ground. He pulled Sanyukta away from the crowd into one of the college buildings.

Randhir caught hold of her wrist and turned her around. Slowly moving forward, he placed his free hand on her waist and whispered in her ears, "Kiss me."

He moved back to see her face. She said, "No." Her refusal did not sound very strong to him.

Randhir smirked, "Do I hear the black cat purring?"

Sanyukta broke out of her trance and shoved him, walking away from him.

"You like it, don't you," he called out. Sanyukta stopped, "you getting so much attention from me."

Sanyukta turned red but nevertheless said, "Stop giving yourself so much importance, Shekhawat." Sanyukta looked uncertainly around as Randhir approached her with leisurely steps. She continued with half the conviction, "You don't mean anything to me."

Sanyukta took steps back. Randhir smirked, "I don't mean anything to you?" Sanyukta shook her head. He grabbed her arm and pushed her to the wall. With his one hand still on her arm, the other on the wall near her head, he said, "Elaborate."

She grabbed his collar and pulled him towards her. "I hate you," she said although, everything about her indicated otherwise.

Still smirking, he took her face in his hands and stroked her jaw line and said, "As it happens, our feelings are mutual."

He leaned in and lightly brushed his lips against hers. He separated from her, his eyes still closed. Suddenly he felt two hands lock in his hair and soft burning lips crashing into his. He replied back with equal vigour, his hands moving to her waist sliding to her back, crushing her petite frame against him. The force of the kiss made him stammer backwards taking her along with him, till his back hit the wall.

The blast of cracker exploding in air made them jump apart. Randhir noticed Sanyukta panting; he was in no better condition either. A smile curved across his lips as he looked at her with triumphant expression. Sanyukta indignantly muttered, "I still hate you."

She stalked away, when Randhir called out, "Our feelings are still mutual."

Sanyukta stopped for a while before stalking away stamping her feet at every step, leaving a smirking Randhir to bask in the instance of their so-called hatred.
