My heart breaks for Khushi. She invested so much time in this relationship and a person who didn't deserve her. Now I can understand her apprehensions better regarding Arnav but I must say despite of her past she has faired well.
Sameer was Mr. Wrong from the very beginning. He didn't like her accomplishments, always reacted badly to her success. Their likes & dislikes may be same but the very basic foundation was wrongly casted. Sameer belongs to the category of the men who want successful partners but not more than them.
I'm happy it was Khushi who dumped him.

First and foremost... come here... the only thing I want to do at the moment is...

Second and just as important... I missed the update and post update fun that I want to...

Now that it is out of the way... lets get to the update...

Loved the interlude. Your ability to convincingly tell an interlude is pure magic... Those fingers deserve something extra special... Since ASR already gave a kiss to it he needs to come up with something else... 😉

Coming to the update itself I could relate to this Khushi. It does not matter how academically brilliant you are when a set back of this magnitude happens and knowing your fiance was a jerk of the first order people like Khushi personalize the problems to themselves... I have come across many such individual in real life too... so brilliant and balance individuals who make each problem as their own and try to find what is wrong with them and where they went wrong despite the fact that the other party is being a donkey and a monkey all rolled into one...

Again superbly written and shows a lot of maturity and thought that had gone into this update... not that your other updates are any less thoughtful but this update is in a level of its own... Simply brilliant. 👏

Even without growing up in India, you know Indian mentality so well.. take a bow Jigs..I loved the Sameer story.. there are plenty of Sameers out there..Kushi was trying to please her parents but if she has confided in her dad at least, he would have understood.. but then in her situation, she did not want to disappoint her parents.. sometimes we only see weather the guy is Sarva guna sampanna (i.e he has all qualities to be most eligible like education, job, money, family background, no bad habits etc) but we don't see his attitude..that is the reason most of the Indian marriages fail ..

wonderful interlude..looking forward for more meetha now ;-)

Hey Jigs!

I don't know where to start, but I suppose I should start by agreeing with the unanimous and absolutely correct opinion on Sameer...He's a dick, a good for nothing, useless, jealous, a-hole of a dick.

Now that that is out of the way, I loved the entire update! It was very real, you know what I mean? This is something that a lot of young women go through. Your parents, who have been there for you all your life, supporting you, your dreams, sometimes at the detriment of their own well-being, ask you for this one thing, and you feel obligated to fulfill their wish. But what most of us fail to realize is that, their one greatest wish is probably to see us happy. So the next time this happens, I hope all of us remember that.

Because I understood where Khushi was coming from, it made my hatred for Sameer all the more intense. I never understand guys who commit to one woman only to go off and "play the field". If they cannot commit, be open about it. Don't get a girls hopes up, only to betray them. That not only makes you a dick, but a coward as well. In fact, I respect both guys and girls who are open about the fact that they are just not the type to commit.

Loved Khushi's parents as well. They could have acted in a completely different way, and made the whole situation more ugly for Khushi, but they didn't, and I love them for that.

And I applaud Khushi for making a decision to move on and sticking to it. You were right, it's a very apt update for Dusshera 😊

So, if I can... I would like to comment on the Interlude... after reading all the comments, I expected the reaction I received... Sameer is an asshole and everything beyond that! And for those readers, that understood what I was trying to portray...👏 If you all don't mind, I will give myself a pat on the back for that...👏

But after reading a comment, for a split second, mind you a nano second, I questioned my take on Khushi's past... but then quickly shook my head in a negative... because I am not sure where that came from.

Men like Sameer and Women like Khushi, exist everywhere, meaning in the world... so we are kidding ourselves that this is not real or believable...

And, I have personally have witnessed this first hand, where someone as smart and intelligent as Khushi remains in the relationship without sharing it with her family or even friends in hopes that it will work out in the end. This is because they don't want to let their parents down, they try to make it work. Parents who have never asked anything from children, but have always given back, then one day ask you to consider this for them. And, you know your one yes will fulfill there dream and make them happy... how does a child say no to that? You grow up believing and trusting that your parents know best, but what we don't realize that some parents will actually listen, we just need to take that step... but believe it or not some are afraid to have that conversation...

But it takes a woman with guts to do what Khushi did, so I applaud those women who respect themselves to say enough is enough. And for those parents who support their daughter's through this and encourage them to move on in life...because men like Sameer don't deserve it!

This is a reality in our society and culture, and it's hard to go against it...we tend to stay in relationships no matter how hard it is and try to make it work for our loved ones... So I would say these characters are as real and believable...

This story is meant to be simple love story about a woman with a past, that moves forward in life... so the plot should be fairly easy to figure, I am not writing an intense complicated drama.

I hope this clears any confusion...

Thank you all for your continued support and and understanding where Khushi is coming from with her apprehensions

But it's time to move on, and give Khushi the happiness she deserves so I hope you will continue to join me in that journey.

Love always,
Jigs

Finally we got to see why Khushi is what she is in so many ways. Why she hesitated in telling Arnav that she loved him. Wow. Sameer was just a huge jerk. Sheesh. I'm glad she's out of that relationship..
I can't wait to see how Arnav reacts when he hears this story.
Amazing update. Thanks for the PM.
Hope you had a great Dusshera..

All points you have addressed I am in absolute agreement as like you I too have met people like Khushi and Sameer... I have to agree with the comments of Ridz (BlueMystique) and Shailaja (sman). Those two summed it so beautifully... 👏

But I don't agree with you on that simple love story statement. 😡 😲 This is not a simple love story for me...
- how dare you to even use the word simple for this beautiful, emotional and mind-boggling writing and
- how dare you call this a story... this is no story to any of us who in this thread argue, agree and acknowledge... This is a journey of 2 people and there are people like Arnav exists... and there are people like Khushi exists and there are people like Sameer most definitely and in larger quantity exists... so don't you dare call this a story...

in red...
