Ginny got out from under his shoulder, leaned him against the wall and stood before him with her wand out. She could feel it too now. She could almost breathe the sensation. They were being watched. Someone was hiding here.

They both stood rather scared now.

Within minutes they could hear a growl so low and deadly they could feel chills running up their spines.

What appeared out of the shadows from behind a door pretending to be wall froze Tom and Ginny where they stood.

It was a growling, drooling, blood thirsty werewolf. As it neared them it regained some part of his human form. Tom who was shell shocked had no idea what to do.

"Stay where you are!" Ginny threatened him but Tom saw quite clearly that she knew him.

The werewolf growled in what seemed like a laugh. "Like that's gonna work... Mrs. Potter!"

Ginny knew him too well. How could she not. He had attacked Bill. It was none other than Fenrir Geryback. Seeing him here and now was like seeing him come back from the dead. He had escaped the Battle of Hogwarts apparently and hid among his kind but he had returned now... why?

He sniffed solemnly apparently enjoying the smell of blood splattered across Tom's body. He neared them trying to conceal a growl full of pleasure. The full moon was getting to him. He was losing control. He could hardly recognize anyone, not at least with all that blood.

Ginny covered Tom guarding him with her wand pointed at Greyback. "Leave!" She threatened him one final time. She knew she couldn't take on him on her own but she could stall until at least someone came here. She had one hand holding her wand pointed at Greyback and another in her pocket calling Harry with the Galleon.

Tom who stood rooted to the spot saw Ginny's efforts failing as the werewolf neared them fearlessly baring its sharp teeth. He knew Ginny would prove to be a starter before the main course if that thing got to them. He was already done for. There was no point for Ginny to get hurt as well. He wasn't really sure if he would live to see the next second to find out what would happen if he did what he was about to do but he knew he had to do it.

He slid away from Ginny still leant against the wall. As he did Greyback turned to him closing in on him. Ginny realized the shift a moment later but it was too late. Tom had already thrown away his bloodied shirt. He was tugging at the wad of bandages Porch had used to cover it up. Within seconds it came off. Tom wiped clean the herbs Porch had applied and threw the bandages away as blood poured out of him. In the next fraction of a second he had slid down to the floor as Greyback had launched himself on top of him his human form completely disappearing. A hungry wolf had emerged from within his very skin that stood drooling over Tom who lay helpless waiting for the wolf to lash out at him any second. Its face was an inch away from Tom's, its teeth could almost taste all that blood. Its mouth lay hanging open, its foul breath filled Tom's nostrils who knew this was his end when it regained its human form as clouds shaded the moon. The werewolf roared in agony and for an instant recognized the face that lay inches from him.

"Master..."

"Stupefy!" Ginny who had been left completely alone sent patronuses in all directions. She fired one stunner after another at it but nothing worked. Its hide was getting thicker with every second. Ginny's stunner finally worked when Greyback turned human again.

Several things happened suddenly. Greyback fell and footsteps ran to them. Ginny's patronuses had called Harry and the rest of the Army to the Entrance Hall but they had reached the second Greyback had fallen to find both Ginny and Tom completely white. Ginny stood shaking in a corner and Tom lay breathing heavily finally letting the pain take over him as relief swept over him.

Everyone had only just relaxed when clouds shifted and the full moon shone brightly. As it did, Greyback sprang back to life, turning into a wolf again. The Army's instant reaction was to guard Tom. They stood like a shield covering him out of sight as they all fired stunners but none worked. Even Harry's failed. It was then that Harry realized what stupidity he had done when he had put the Elder Wand aside and had started using his Phoenix wand again. The Elder Wand would have stunned this nightmare in a second.

"Don't let it pass!" Harry shouted at the Army who had no intentions of letting it through to Tom.

Greyback however was sniffing at something a lot more delicious, as it turned away from the Army to the Double Doors a shrill, high-pitched voice shrieked. Greyback lunged at whoever had shrieked and the Army's curses bouncing off of him ran away into the grounds holding someone in his claws like his prey. Porch who had run after it saw who it had carried froze immediately. He couldn't catch up to the wolf's speed, within seconds it had disappeared in the dark grounds.

"Who has been taken?" Ginny asked him knowing quite clearly he had seen it.

Porch gulped down. "It was Alex."
