Part 46:

The next day Kriya woke up earlier than Rey. She observed his face for few minutes. Though he was asleep peacefully, there were a few worry lines on his forehead. She caressed over those lines and he relaxed in an instant. She quietly grabbed his phone and copied a number from his phone. Placing the phone back on its place, she kissed him on the lips. It was just a peck.

"I love you Rey." She whispered although he was sound asleep and left.

Later that evening, Rey accompanied Payal to the hospital. It was just a regular check up. As they were exiting the hospital, Payal spoke. "Reyansh I feel like having an ice cream. Can we please halt at some ice cream parlor before heading home?" Payal requested him.

"Payal I promised Kaira that I'll take her out to the park in evening. And I don't want to delay it."

"Please Reyansh. It's the pregnancy hormones taking their toll on me."

"Fine. Get in the car. I want to make it as fast as possible."

To Rey's misfortune they got stuck in a traffic jam. Apparently an auto rickshaw and a car collided against each other. Nothing severe damage happened. Instead of sorting out the matter in some corner they were busy making a fuss of it on the road blocking the traffic. Rey's patience was getting tested. Rey promised to reach home by 5:30 Pm and it was already 6 Pm. Finally everything sorted out and blocked traffic started clearing out. As Rey's turn arrived the lights turned red from green, making Rey swear in return.

"F**k! Nothing worse can happen than this."

"Reyansh, relax. I'm sure we'll be there on time."

"Are you kidding me? You seriously think we'll be there on time? By the time I reach home my daughter's face would be gloomy and all this is because of you. I wish I never met you."

"Enough Reyansh! Don't put the entire blame on me. You got yourself into this. I didn't ask you to."

Glaring at Payal, Rey accelerated the car as the lights turned green. Finally after fifteen minutes they reached the ice cream parlour. Rey asked to stand in the line as he needed to call Kriya urgently. It was definitely Rey's unlucky day. His phone's battery died. As he stood along Payal in the queue, a lady bumped into him.

"I'm sorry." The lady said and as she looked up at the person she bumped into, she stood there shocked as hell.

"Daddy?" The little girl standing beside the lady called him. It was Kaira and the lady was none other than Kriya.

"What are you doing here? You were supposed to take Kaira to the park at five thirty in the evening and if I'm not wrong, it's past six thirty. Do have any explanation for this Mr.Singhaniya?" Kriya asked in a stern tone. Just then her eyes fell on Payal. She asked Kaira to sit at a nearby table and eat her ice cream.

"So, you're here to get your baby's mother an ice cream. I guess she must be carving for an ice cream. Am I right?"

"Uh..yeah.." Rey said in a low tone.

"Kriya I'm really sorry. It's all because of me. It isn't Rey's fault." Payal intervened between them.

"Both of you are equally at fault." Kriya said with an expressionless face.

"I'm sorry Kriya." Rey said.

"I'll forgive you only when you agree to tell me what you are hiding." Saying this Kriya walked up to kaira who finished her ice cream and was observing her parents afar.

"And Rey I know everything. And what hurts the most is you didn't have enough faith in me to tell me everything." Kriya turned around and said before leaving the place. Rey stood there aghast and perplexed. He turned towards Payal who had her head hung low, giving him the answer to his unasked question.

Again no trace of the truth in this chapter as well. I'm liking it! Like and review please.
