15. Ironic Isolation!
As if the sleepless night was not enough, his so called to be fiance, had informed him about an early morning meeting in Sanyukta's cabin. He placed his head on the steering wheel , after he parked the car, and shut his red-burning eyes. He had absolutely no idea how the hell was he suppose to be facing Sanyukta. Though he mentally decided to act all normal, cool and arrogant, he was sure his red eyes and tired face would give away the fact that he had been crying all night- Yes, crying. The Randhir Singh Shekawat had been crying all night, due to guilt, hurt, pain, isolation, and most importantly for the stupidity of hurting, that one person he cared for.
He had been convincing himself all night, that his decision was perfect- he was working for this, for years now! But the happiness and satisfaction he should have felt after stepping one step closer to his objective, was miles apart. For a moment he considered revealing the entire truth to Sanyukta, though, the thought disappeared within seconds- Why would she trust him and not her father?
He had never felt so helpless in his life before. Not even when his mom was being murdered! the emotional strain was taking a toll on his already weak health, and his non consumption of any eatables or drinks f0r more than 14 hours now was not helping him either.
With a heavy heart, he walked towards the her cabin, his heart beating at a rate too fast to be measured.
*click*
He opened the door and entered the cabin, only to be greeted with a panel of people sitting as though they were awaiting his arrival.
His eyes quickly scanned through all of them, only in search of her, but she was no where in sight. His head began feeling heavy again.
He wanted to just see her once, for his peace of mind! He just wanted to ensure she was fine.
But she was no where in sight, making him even more restless.
"Randhir!' Vidhushi ran towards him and hugged him tight, which was making Randhir feel uncomfortable. Her touch on his skin did not feel..
did not feel right.
"Hey Vidhushi.." He moved her hands away, while his eyes still searched for Sanyukta.
"So Randhir..." Vardhan stood up from his chair.
"Yes sir..." He enthusiastically replied, hoping that the next sentence Vardhan would utter, would definitely be in relation to Sanyukta.
"Well...Sanyukta left for London abit earlier than expected. And so, Ur new colleague is Vidhushi." He informed, a smirk on his face.
"Sanyukta...what?" Randhir was sure his brains had deciphered the wrong meaning of Vardhan's words, or may be he his ears had misheard them?
"She..left..Randhir.." Vardhan stated slowly, and left the cabin before saying, "Vidhushi...come with me...paper work hai kuch.."
And all of them left the cabin, while Randhir stood there, rooted at the spot, his brains still not able to process Vardhan's words.
She left? She left without bidding him good bye? She left without meeting him even once?
She..She..left... He whispered in a hoarse, trying to accept the fact.
Sanyukta Left Randhir...SHe...She..left...He again whispered.
Celebrate Randhir, U wont feel guilty any more...U wont falter in ur goal any more... He sat on the floor, laughing at himself, his eyes flooding with tears.
U lusted her didn't u? Then the pain Randhir? He questioned himself, his eyes continued to water, while he continued laughing at himself.
She..she..left...She...I...hurt her...I..hurt...my..sanyukta...He continued, as fat tears began rolling down his eyes, his heart had almost stopped beating. He shut his eyes and held his head in his hands, clutching his hair.
He soo desperately wanted to see her. He so badly wanted to kiss her. He so desperately wanted to tell her, that, all this while, he had been lying. He had been lying that he had only lusted her. The fact was, the first time they had kissed, he had a peaceful sleep that night- not because she had satisfied his desires, but because he had never ever felt so complete and happy with anyone before. He wanted to acknowledge it to her, that their make out sessions, were not just for his physical pleasure, but they were his way of conveying his love for her, for he had no other means of
putting forth his feelings. His heart was sinking, and so was his will power, everything began to feel meaningless suddenly. He smile remembering their amazing time in Mumbai, he had never felt so happy before. Never. Not with anyone. SHe had the power to make him feel happy and peaceful by merely being around him. The physical proximity was simply his way of telling her he enjoyed her presence!
He wanted to see her...just...once...
"Just once...please..." He prayed to god, hoping she would miraculously appear in front of him, which ofcourse did not happen.
*Kabir Calling*
His phone flashed, breaking his emotional breakdown.
He picked up the call, expecting to be garnered with some piece of bullshit information, and he was absolutely correct.
"Randhir...Guess what? I got to know that soon after the engagement, Mr.Agarwal will be transferring all his business in ur name!
Coz u r the most capable one! Randhir! V r getting back what he snatched away from us Randhir!"
Yes. This is what he had wanted ever since his parents had been killed! And it was happening. Yes, it was. They were so close to their goal.
So near. And yet, he was feeling all emotions, apart from happiness.
"Thats..Thats..great bhai..." He whispered.
"Randhir...V r fulfilling dad's last wish..." Kabir smiled. And Randhir's love for his parents, once again over shadowed his love for Sanyukta.
Flashes of his dad's crying face revolved in front of his eyes...His mother's screams filled his ears...May be, he was not that wrong.

"Lets go out for dinner Randhir..." Vidhushi entered the cabin and sat on his lap, while Randhir continued reading the file in his hand.
It had been a week, since Sanyukta left. A week since he last smiled from his heart. If there was anything he had done the entire week, it was miss Sanyukta every moment of the day, every moment at night. The moment he opened his eyes in the morning, he used to imagine her by his side. Everytime he sat on the couch for watching TV, he felt her presence on his lap. The toughest times he spent were in her cabin- it was as if every molecule there reminded him of her.
"Randhir! I am talking to u baby.." She caressed his cheeks. Randhir gulped, as he felt her do that. Vidhushi had been trying to get close to
him the entire week, though not once did he let her do that. Her touch felt anything but comfortable. It made him feel dirty.
He felt disgusted at himself, everytime Vidhushi came to close to him. The privilage was reserved only and only for Sanyukta!
"Vidhushi...M tired...Please..." And he walked off, like evry day.
"The number u r trying to call is unavailable.." The phone operator said, as Randhir once again tried callin Sanyukta. He wondered whether anyone on earth was in contact with her! Vidhushi was not interested in knowing whether Sanyukta was dead or alive, neither was her family.
He sighed, sitting on the couch, and went through his contact list, and stopped as a name appeared on his screen, "Parth."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Standing at the balcony of her apartment, she stared at the beautiful city of London. A week had passed quite in a hurry, though his memories never failed to haunt her. Her official appointment commenced from tomorrow, and she was ready for the new life.
"He lusted u Sanyukta..."You" Loved him. Stop thinking about a person who doesnt care about u. Randhir Singh Shekawat is History!"
She declared in thin air, her face filled with determination.
