Part 16

Anjali didn't understand why her brother asked her not to meet Chachaji under any circumstances and she tried to call Arnav but it was not reachable and she was worried for him and Shyam assured her Arnav would be fine but in his mind he hoped his brother in law is dead😡

Arnav saw Khushi smiling in her sleep and hoped the guy in her dream is not Pankaj and thought because of his warning Pankaj won't dare to come even in Khushi's dreams😆 ... loved this so possessive Arnav😃

Loved how Arnav's heart captured by Khushi's innocence, her beauty and her determination and honesty to save him and he realised how much Khushi is important to him😊.

Arnav now new that his Chacha wants to kill him to claim mallik properties and he wants to put his Chacha behind the bars and he don't want to claim any of Mallik property and he wanted to form his own Company and he needed Khushi by his side in doing all this👏.

Nk came for Khushi. Loved NK's funny Hindi and Arnav felt jealous seeing Khushi and NK together. Nk wanted to drop Khushi at her place but Arnav stopped him and said he will drop her and at the same time Lavanya came there and tried to blame Khushi but Arnav defended Khushi and Khushi angrily went with NK.

Arnav went to home and Anjali was worried and happy at the same time seeing him and Shyam was shocked to see him alive.

Aman called Arnav and said that Sheetal changed her statement at police that he forced her to tell Chachaji's name on Arnav's order.

Arnav wanted to go to Seeshmahal and meet chachaji and asked Aman to take care of his Di and Khushi in his absence ... Loved this caring Arnav

Khushi's house door was locked and Buaji called her on NK's phone and said her to come to big hospital and Khushi was worried and she remembered Arnav.

Ajith got to know Arnav is alive and Arnav reached his chachaji's place.

Part 17

Loved the way Arnav grabbed Ajith's neck and lifted him off the floor before he takes gun out of his pocket ... Loved this aggressive ASR avatar👏

Ajith bad mouthed about Arnav's Ma and Dadi asked Arnav to go back to Delhi even when she got to know Ajit tried to kill Arnav because she cares only for society. Ajith don't want a part but he wants whole of Malliks property ... What is Dadi hiding from Arnav?

Arnav said to Dadi that he decided not to take anything from malliks anymore and he is quitting AR and he want to set his own company but dadi don't want Arnav to quit AR. Ajith said let him go and he can't do anything on his own and he will come running back to them. Loved how Arnav said "ASR does not lick what spits out" and loved how he promised to Seeshmahal that he will come back here one day.

NK and Khushi went to hospital and the person in the hospital is Pankaj's mom😲 and Buaji said that Payal and Neeraj & Khushi and Pankaj are going to engaged in a day or 2 and Khushi was only thinking about Arnav.

Part 18

Khushi don't want to get engaged to Pankaj and she came to temple to pray DM for solution and she saw Anjali crying and Khushi got panicked and said she know someone tried to kill Arnav on hot balloon and Anjali said Ajit chacha tried to shoot Arnav and Khushi was worried for Arnav's safety and wanted to see him and assured Anjali that nothing will happen to him when they both are with him.

Both Anjali and Khushi went to airport. Loved the way both Khushi and Arnav felt each other's presence even before seeing each other and loved how Arnav's heart beat fast and lost himself in her beauty.

Arnav is going to London to meet some clients to set his business

Arnav don't want Khushi be harmed because of him and it is dangerous if she is seen with him and he shouted on Khushi for coming there and Anjali told him that Khushi was worried for him and she wanted to meet him badly.

Khushi with tears in her eyes, tried to go away but loved how Arnav pulled her into waiting room and said sorry to her and told her that he don't want her to get hurt because of him and she said she was scared for him ... loved this cute couple

Loved how Arnav said "My Khushi"

"Now go Khushi and promise me you will stay safe for me"

"And wait for me, Khushi, won't you? ..."

Loved Khushi's reply

"Yes ... I will stay safe ... for you ..."

Khushi then realised why she don't want to engaged to Pankaj because she wanted to wait for Arnav even though he don't believe in relationships set by society and she thought she would wait for him.

Loved how Arnav kissed on Khushi's forehead and asked her Is everything OK and how Khushi kissed on Arnav's lips and said "it is now" and loved her wink😳 ... loved shy and bold Khushi

Shyam sighed in relief. The house in Lucknow was indescript and in a narrow street lined by many such houses. People were spilling over on the pavement. Children ran around playing and shouting. No, no one was likely to find Sheela in this crowd. He dabbed the sweat off his forehead with his large handkerchief as he entered the house.

He had brought Sheela to his safe house in Lucknow. And had given enough money to last her a lifetime. And reminded her in many indirect ways how he had helped her when her mother was in the hospital. But there was no saying how long her gratitude would last. He knew he would have to continue to keep an eye on her.

Or simply bowl her over by the charm he especially reserved for unsuspecting women! He had never failed in that quarter! Ranisahiba was the biggest case in point he smiled liked the devil he was!

"You are safe with me Ranisahiba as long as you don't know my secret," he muttered.

"Did you say something Shyamji?" Sheela asked him as she handed him a glass of water.

No, Sheela. I am just worried about you. You know my saale sahab is such a wicked man. He has lodged an FIR against his own chacha for attempted murder. If I hadn't brought you here he would have asked the police harass you again."

"But Shyamji, I told Aman the truth. Ajit Mallik has been paying me money for spying on ASR. I can't understand why you asked me to change my statement to the police," Sheela said.

Shyam swallowed the bitter pill.

"Yes, yes Sheela I know. Actually its Ajit chacha's fault," he improvised, "But I don't want you to be caught in the cross fire between ASR and Ajit."

"Moreover like I told you, I wanted someone trustworthy to work in my Lucknow office. So I asked you to shift here with your mother."

"Yes yes of course Shyamji. You have been like a God to me. Who else would have given me lakhs for my mother's treatment!"

And I have to extract the price of every penny I have given to you Shyam thought!

Khushi sighed as the car moved out of sight. She was worried about how to stop her engagement with Pankaj ji but on seeing the forlorn look on Anjali's face she had decided to deal with her worries later. Sensing her anxiety for her Chhotey, Khushi had regaled Di with her funny jokes from the airport to Lakshminagar. Anjali looked much happier by the time they reached the Gupta house.

Arnav' s words of concern had given her a strength and resolve. She remembered the feel of her lips on his and blushed. His slightest touch lit a thousand diyas in her heart. She smiled to herself once again. Arnav wanted her to wait for him and she would!

But why had he asked her to wait for him...and wait for what? What would he say to her? What did she want him to say?

Khushi tucked her lock behind her ear and shook her head. She pushed the anxious thoughts at the back of her mind. Anyway whether he asked her to wait or not she owed it to herself to say no' to something her heart did not want. And it did not want her to get engaged to Pankaj ji.

She was only afraid her decision would hurt her family and put Jiji's engagement to Pankaj ji's brother in a quandary!

Ah well Devi Maiyya had a solution for every problem!

Khushi was so lost in thought that she did not notice NK sitting in the living room of the Gupta household.

"Khushi?!" he called her.

But she walked right past him scrunching her eyes, scratching her head, trying to think of a plan to get rid of Pankaj ji !

She had just stepped into the washroom to splash cold water on her face to enable her to think better when an idea popped up in her head!

The best ideas always occur in washrooms she thought gleefully walking into the living room and noticing NK at last!

"Arrey when did you come NK?"

"Khushi you are too much!" NK rolled is eyes. "And what sort of friend are you? Why didn't you tell me about you are going to have a buraai (disaster), Khushi ?

"Buraai? Kya buraai?(Disaster? What disaster?)" Khushi was clueless at first. Then it occurred to her that he was speaking about her sagaai or engagement!

She grinned and patted NK's shoulders. "Shaabash NK, shaabash!(Well done NK, well done!) For the first time in your life you have used the correct Hindi term. What for others is sagaai or engagement for me is buraai or disaster!"

"So you really don't feel...for this guy...now what did Buaji say his name was..."NK questioned her haltingly.

"No I don't feel that way for Pankaj ji..." Khushi said in a quiet voice.

NK looked at her thoughtfully. He remembered her whistling past him during the Hot Air Balloon competition, tears streaming down her liquid eyes, not noticing him, all her focus on one man shouting for him to stop in order to save him!

"Yes, you can do buraai with Arnav," NK proclaimed nodding his head.

Khushi turned red!

"What, what are you saying NK?" she stammered, "Its its nothing like that..."

NK shrugged his shoulders .

"Sankadevi! Arrey O Sankadevi!" Buaji called out to her from her room.

"Aayi Buaji!" Khushi shouted back.

"Listen NK don't go away. You have to help me out of this mess. I don't have the time to explain anything to you now. Just agree hundred per cent with whatever I tell Buaji. She is the key. I have to convince her. Understand?!" Khushi whispered conspiratorily.

"Yeah! I guess so!" NK said without understanding a thing!

"What is it Buaji?" Khushi asked putting her hands on her hips. Buaji was standing in front of the mirror and she had changed into a new sari.

"Bahut sundar lag rahi ho Buaji! Saj dhaj ke kahan ja rahi ho?(You are cooling very pretty Buaji! Where are you going all dressed up?" she flattered Buaji

Buaji was rather pleased. "Hayye re Parmeswari! Kya kahat ho? (What are you saying, Parmeswari?)" she said rolling her eyes and fluttering her eyelashes.

"Hum pados ki kamla mausi ke ghar jaawat hain. Unko tumri aur payaliya ki sagaai ke bare main batiyane. Pankaj babua ki mataji kahat rahi achha muhurat dekh kar kal ya parso sagaai dengey! (I am going to our neighbour Kamla mausi's house to tell her about yours and Payal's engagement. Pankaj's mother was saying the ceremony can take place tomorrow or day after, whichever date is auspicious!)"

Khushi seized upon this golden opportunity!This was the right time to put her plan in action she thought.

She cleared her throat. "Buaji, I am very sad to say but NK has come to tell me, an astrologer has predicted that this is not the right time for my and Pankaj ji's engagement!"

Buaji looked at her in shock.

"Kya kahat rahi ho Titalya? Sachh main?!(What are you saying Titaliya? Really?)" she flopped down on the bed.

"Hayye re Nand Kishore!"she said putting her head between her hands.

"Aur nahi to kya Buaji. NK sa pooch lo! (Yes Buaji. Ask NK if you doubt me!)" she reiterated.

"NK NK!" she called for him, smiling to herself.

NK came running. "What happened Khushi?"

"Oh! Please tell Buaji what the sadhu maharaj (sage) told you!"

"Huh?" he stared at her blankly.

"Arrey! What you told me just now!" she winked at him. " That our kundali (horoscope) says this is not an auspicious time for our engagement."

NK blinked rapidly and under Khushi's watchful eyes.

"Haan Haan Buaji that is what the sage said" he said with aplomb.

"Par Jiji ki sagaai main koi badha nahi! Kaho na NK! (but there is no problem regarding Payal's engagement." Khushi glowered at him.

"Haan haan Buaji! NK said with enthusiasm. "No problem at all regarding Payal's engagement!"

Khushi nodded at him in approval and NK was relieved.

But Buaji's next question had him floundering.

"Unka naam kya hai, hayye re Nand Kishore?(What is his name?)"

"Naam?(Name?) NK stammered. Good Lord! The pressure of manufacturing a name was too much for him!

"Arrey NK! How can you forget? His name is same as yours na, Nand Kishore maharaj!" Khushi winked at NK.

NK nodded vigorously. Not that he had an option!

"Hayye re Nand Kishore!" Buaji jumped off the bed and exclaimed,

"Jis mahapurush ka naam hi itna mahaan batiyati ho, usski baat to hum nahi taalat sakat!(How can I disregard the words of such a great sage with such a great name!"

Khushi happily shook NK's hands behind Buaji's back! Her paln had worked!

Jai ho Devi Maiyya! Jai ho! Jai ho! She folded her hands and touched it to her forehead again and again.

"Shashi babua haspataal se lautney par usko ihi baat kehat rahe. Aur Pankaj ki maa ko bhi! Unhe bahut dukh hoga! Par ab kya kare! Hayye re Nand Kishore!( Once Shashi returns from the hospital I will tell him and also Pankaj's mother. They will be sad, but what can be done!"Buaji said brooding.

Suddenly she hugged an unsuspecting NK.

"Achha NK babua, Shashi babua aawat rahe to hum in baba se milne jayengey!"(I want to meet this sage along with Shashi!)

Khushi panicked. "Arrey nahi nahi Buaji. Aap kyon jayengi? She thought for a second and said, "Hum baba ko yahin bula lete hain! Kyon NK? (Oh no Buaji why will you go? We will call the sage to our house. What say, NK?) she smiled widely at him.

"Yeah okay!" NK sighed. The poor guy had no clue where this was leading to! It was next to impossible for him to keep pace with Khushi's crazy plans! Thankfully it would have no affect on Payal's engagement.

Aakash Singh Raizada was surfing the news channels in his room in a huge bungalow in Kolkata. The Breaking News on a channel caught his attention. He adjusted his glasses over his eyes and dashed out of his room into the pooja room.

"Nani!" he addressed the elderly lady who was lighting a lamp in front of Devi Maiyya.

"I just saw in the news. Arnav has lodged an FIR against Ajit Mallik for attempted murder. That scoundrel Mallik will be arrested soon."

Nani's eyes grew wide with shock.

"Ajit tried to kill Arnav! Did Arnav get hurt? How is he?"

"Its okay. He is not hurt from what I heard. At least not physically. Mentally it must be traumatic for him. But it means at last things have come to a head Nani. We must act now while the iron is hot!"

Devyani Raizada nodded her head. " Call your father and Manorama. We need to talk."

Maa...Arnav called out to her as she ran past the shehnai players...He knew he had to stop her...something was amiss...but in the blink of an eye she was gone and Di was weeping..why was Di weeping...Arnav meandered through Sheeshmahal in search for...sukoon...where was it...he closed his eyes in pain...and opened them...Khushi was standing in the sunshine that slithered over her..smiling at him...she advanced towards him as he stood still with waited breath ...

Arnav jerked awake to an announcement made by the pilot. There was inclement weather outside. Dammit! He looked at his watch. Hope the flight is not delayed he thought raking his fingers through his hair. He was a man in hurry. He wanted to know as soon as possible if the Swedes who had seen his work were willing to be partners in his new company instead of AR. And then return home to her...

I can't believe this is happening to me! I am thinking of her all the time...he shook his head and smiled.
