Here I am, and look I've made khichdi for you (a mixture of rice and beans - usually to help settle your stomach when someone is sick).

Lavanya: Much better, all because of you. Sit down Khushi, look at your foot, the swelling hasn't gone down at all.

Khushi: I'm fine. Don't worry about me. Now go, shower so we can eat some lunch.

Lavanya: Okay. You're the sweetest.

Lavanya hugged Khushi and made her way to the shower.

*Ring Ring *

Khushi: Hello NK ! Haan, Lavanya teek hai, haan hum bhi teek hain. Haan, nahin woh shower lene gayi hai. Nahin, no way, tum nahin aa sakte. Hum Lavanya ke saath hi aayenge aab. Kisi aur ko..Di ko? Acha? Nahi? Tho kisi aur ko bhej dho kapre lekhe..yeah...hum tum sms karte hain. Di ko pata hai. Acha? Thanks. BYEEE.

Khushi: Who is it? Kaka darwaaza kholein please!

Kaka, go open the door.

Khushi limps her way to the hall and sees a doctor is waiting.

Khushi: Namaste. Ji aap?

Doctor: Mr. Jha sent me to check on a Lavanya and Khushi?

Khushi: He sent a doctor? she muttered .. No, no we don't need a doctor.

Lavanya: We do need a Doctor,right Khushi?

Khushi: Lavanyaaa, doctor? Really?

Lavanya: Haan, doctor. Doctor, I'm much better now but please do check Khushi.

Doctor: Lavanya, I have orders to check you both. You do seem slightly weak, so rest, bottled water only but otherwise looks like you've been well taken care of.

Lavanya: Yes Doctor, Khushi watched over me all night. Now please check her foot, she's been avoiding it.

Doctor: Let me see. It's definitely sprained, here are some pain killers. Keep weight off the foot. You should soak it in haldi water and salt, it'll help the swelling and lessen the pain. And wrap it up. If you don't, then you'll be in pain for many days.If you need me, please do call.

Lavanya: Thank you Doctor ! I'll drop her off to the door, Khushi you stay put on the bed. Don't even think about getting up.

Khushi: Haye Devi Maiiya ! Teek hai !

Lavanya: ASR should be coming . NK called me telling that he somehow convinced him and he should be here in 10-15 minutes with all of our stuff from the designer and everything you asked for from home.

Khushi: ASR? And why is he bringing everything?

Lavanya: Oh I forgot. You must've not met him yet. You know, Arnav? My best friend?

Khushi: Woh?! That..woh laad governer? I've had the displeasure of meeting him, she muttered. * Khushi makes a face*

Lavanya starts laughing

Lavanya: What you call him? Laad what? And when did you meet him?

Khushi: Last night in the room..when..(Khushi has a flashback of when they met in her room) I mean in your room last night, with NK. You were so out of it, you probably didn't realize. And ASR kya hai?

Lavanya: A shortened version of his full name... Arnav Singh Raizada.

Khushi: Naam main bhi kanjoosi karta hai, aur bolne main bhi ..she muttered.

He's stingy with his name and even with speaking..

Lavanya: What you say?

Khushi: Kuch nahi. But Lavanya let me get off this bed. Come on, please.

Lavanya: Not at all. Stay in bed.

Khushi: Lavanya come on, I have to do so many preparations.

Lavanya: You're here with me. And there's no need for any preparations except for you and me getting ready.

Khushi: Lavanya, if you don't know, I'll tell you. I'm not used to sit doing nothing.

Lavanya: Well get used to it!

Khushi: Lavanya !

Lavanya: Khushi !

Arnav: What the hell is this noise Lavanya?! I step in the door and all I hear is yelling. Oh. No wonder. THIS girl is still here.

Lavanya: ASR what are you saying?

Khushi: Yes, it's me. Do you have a problem?

Arnav: Don't get me started

Khushi: Go ahead and start, I'll finish for you.

Khushi: Lavanya, let me get up..

Lavanya: Should I call NK?

Khushi: LAVANYA !

Arnav: SHUT UP !

Lavanya and Khushi in there bickering forgot about Arnav standing there and looked at him surprised.

Arnav: What's your damn problem?! Just stay in bed as Lavanya says.

Khushi: Did I ask you? No right, so then?

Arnav: What the ! What's wrong with you, bewakoof larki ?

Khushi: AAP !

Arnav: What?

Khushi: It's better if you stay quiet. This is between me and Lavanya !

Arnav: Lavanya! LAVANYA ! Did this girl just tell me to shut up?!

Khushi: Lavanya do I ever...Lavanya?

Lavanya had left the room, annoyed by the bickering to answer NK's phone call.

Arnav: I'm talking to you !

Khushi: WHAT IS IT!

Arnav: Don't raise your voice at me !

Khushi: I can do whatever I want, what does it have to do with you?

Arnav: CHUP ! I said SHUT UP right now !

Arnav moved so quickly on to the bed, holding her arms tightly pinning her to the headboard.

Khushi: What..what are you doing? How dare..

Arnav: How dare I? You...how dare you? How dare you talk to me like this? Who are you? NK's so called best friend? You're here only because you're his friend, don't forget that. Don't think that being his friend elevates your status in front of anyone, at all. I know who you are, you're one of those typical middle class girls who think they can find their way in to homes of the rich. I mean, you've done well with somehow making NK your friend. But keep your distance from him and Lavanya's relationship. Don't think I haven't seen how you try to get his attention all for yourself, typical middle class mentality. Listen, you're from a small town place, and that's all you'll be ? So don't you DARE raise your voice at me again. Do you understand? I SAID DO YOU UNDERSTAND ?

Khushi had turned her face away and shut her eyes trying to drown out his bitter words.

Arnav: Look at me ! I said, LOOK AT ME.

He grabbed her face and moved it in to the direction of his.

Khushi: You're hurting..you're hurting me. Leave me..

Khushi's big eyes were full of tears to the brim, threatening to fall down if he dared to speak another word.

Arnav hastily let go of her face as he heard footsteps approaching him. He got up off the bed and faced the doorway where Lavanya had just entered.

Lavanya: What's this?

Arnav mentally cursed himself, f**k, shit.

Arnav: Lavanya I...

Lavanya: Khushi fell asleep?

Arnav did a quick 360 and saw she had buried her head in the pillow.

Lavanya: I guess the pain killers kicked in the drowsiness...she hadn't slept all night anyway. Taking care of me without any regards for her own pain. Anyway, what were you saying ASR?

Arnav: Nothing. I've got to go to the office. Aman called. See you tonight.

Arnav felt the guilt trip coming along but pushed it away with a bitter mumble of "Unbelievable".

Lavanya: Bye

Lavanya left the room closing the door behind her. Khushi waited about 5 minutes and slowly let it all out, her tears came down like a waterfall. Soon as the emotions exhausted her she fell in to a deep slumber.

Around 5 in the evening Lavanya came in rushing Khushi to wake up and start getting ready for the engagement party. Khushi let go of everything that had happened in the afternoon for her best friend and his fianc...after all it was there day..Why should she spoil it with being upset?

Khushi: "Uth thi hoon" she grumbled.

As Khushi got up off the bed and hopped her way to fix her messy hair in the mirror ,she gasped softly. Her left cheek had turned red where Arnav's fingers had left traces on her cheek from grabbing it so violently before. She looked down at her wrists which were bruised as well but..could be covered with churiyan, her face..what about that? How would she...?

Lavanya: Khushi ! If I come there in the next two minutes and you're not ready to head out for the parlor I'm going to kill you !

Khushi unsure of what to do grabbed her face scrub and covered her face as best as she could.

Lavanya: What are you doing? Why is your face like that? Aren't you coming to the beauty parlor with me?

Khushi: Uh woh...no I don't like that stuff. I'll get ready from here, and then when you're ready, just come pick me up.

Lavanya: No Khushi, you have to go with me !

Khushi: Lavanya...I..remember, what the doctor said? I've got to do best and rest my foot, and that's more likely if I stay home. I promise I'll get ready with you on the day of your wedding but ab jao, it's getting late !

Lavanya: Fine, I won't force you.

Khushi: Don't forget to take your bottled lemonade I made for you and crackers..in case you get hungry..remember nothing too heavy to eat !

Lavanya: I know, I know ! Thank you !

Lavanya blew a kiss at Khushi and left to the parlor.

Khushi sat down on her bed thinking of how would she solve her problem..

Khushi: Well, first of all we have to stay away from that rakshaas. How dare he, ...how dare..he? Payal Di was right, I should avoid NK, people start thinking wrong.This isn't my home, I should stay in my limits. I can't ruin this for him and Lavanya. But how..? Devi Mayaa tell me what I should do? Should I not go for the engagement? No, no..I can't do that. It's my best friend's engagement. Well...OH IDEA! Thank you Devi Mayya !!

Khushi ran to shower again and then rushed to get ready.

Buaji: Teek hai Payaliya, go get ready. But before you go get ready go to Devani Gigi's room and tell her that all the arrangments are done. Oh, also remind her to take the ring out of the locker. I didn't get the chance.

Payal: Ji Buaji.

Payal was rushing towards Devani's room when she noticed that a young man in front of her was about to bump in to the ladder. Payal ran towards him and grabbed his arm pulling him right...away from the ladder. As she pulled him she fell against the marble pillar of the staircase and he fell on top of her.

Akash surprised by the sudden movements, looked down to see this girl pressed up against him. As he looked at her carefully...he noticed how..how beautiful she was. She slowly opened her eyes and when she saw at how close he was to her, looked around..trying to find a place to move. Akash took a step back and let her fix herself. He watched her shy, panicked self regaining composure.

Payal: You..you're okay right?

Akash couldn't help staring at her dark brown almond shaped eyes.

Akash: Haan...huh? Her eyes were so beautifully shaped, almond brown eyes.

Payal: You're okay right?

Akash: Yes, I am..thank you.

Payal: No, not a problem.

Akash: You are?

NK: Bhai ! What was this noise I heard...I

NK walked in to see Payal's face flushed pink and his Akash Bhai's dazed eyes.

Payal: He was going..

Akash: I was about to bump in to the ladder while I was reading a file, and she pulled me out of the way.

NK: Ohhh ! Bhai, this is Payal ! Khushi, ki elder sister ! And Di, he's my Bhai.

Payal: Hello...

Akash: Hello...

Payal: I'll go now...

Madhumati: Haan Gigi. Khushi called, Lavanya and her are coming. They were in the car.

NK: Chachiji, where's my best friend and to be-fiance?!

Madhumati: NK Babua, they're on their way. Oh Nand Kishore, you're looking so handsome !

NK: I know Chachi ji, I know !

NK was dressed in a gold colored sherwani with his hair gelled up as usual and his ever present smile.

NK pointed towards the staircase where Payal and Akash were making their entrance together.
Akash looked handsome in his white sherwani. Payal was wearing a pink and white lehenga with her hair flowing down to her back.

Devani: NK, you shush. We adults can handle this. You go call Shyam and ask him where he is!

NK calls Shyam...

NK turns around and sees the Raizada's behind him.

NK gives Anjali a hug.

NK: As always Bhabhi, awesome !

NK: Mamiji, oh you're look so beautiful.

Manorma: Oh NK Babua, you are so NAUGHTY ! Thank you.

NK: Nani ! Namaste. Aap kaisi hai?

NK bent down to touch her feet.

Nani: I'm well NK, how are you? Where is Devani and Madhu?

NK: Right there, Naniji.

After the adults left Shyam and Anjali conversed with NK.

NK: Where's Mamaji? And Nanav?

Anjali: Mamaji is still in Lucknow, and Chottey was right behind us. I don't know where he went, he was as usual on his phone.

NK: Di ! Payal Di !

Payal: Coming NK !

NK: Di, I wanted to introduce you to two very important people. Di, this is my Anjali Bhabhi aur Shyam. My cousin and his lovely wife. Aur Bhabhi...this is Payal Di hai, Chachi's eldest niece.

Payal: Namaste, Namaste. How are you?

Anjali: I'm good, your lehenga is very beautiful.

And with that the two young ladies became busy in their conversation.

Shyam: Look at that ...saale sahib ! Saale sahib !

Arnav: Yes Jeeja ji?

NK: I've been asking about you. Where have you been man?

Arnav: I had a voice conference, sorry about that. Congrats NK.
