Khushi: Amaa, Babujii, acha aab hum aur Di nikal te hain, dehr ho rahi hai. Bua ji ne kaha tha ke woh humein airport se pick karlenge. Ama, Bauji, Payal and I will leave now, it's getting late. Buaji said that she'll pick us up from the airport.
Ama: Bitiya khayal rakhna aapna, Payaliya, tumhe tho pata hai Khushi kaisi hai, khayal rakhna iska. Aur dhyan dena, ke koyi shararat na karein yeh.
Take care of yourself, and Payal you know how Khushi is, take care of her. Make sure she's not mischevious there.
Payal: Fikar na karein, Ama, Babuji, hum sab ka dhyaan rakhenge
Don't worry, I'll take care of everything.
Khushi: Babuujii ! Ama ko lagta hai ke hum 4 saal ke bache hain jo shaitaani karenge? Dii ko kehne ki kya zaroorat hai?
Do you think I'm a four year old child whose going to be mischevious? Why did you have to telll Di?
Babuji: Arre, nahin tum tho meri rajkumari ho, aur bohut hi zaada samajdar ho, lekin haan shararti tho ho. Acha aab, wahan ponch thai hi, humein phone kardena.

Payal & Khushi say their goodbyes and head to the airport for Delhi.
At the airport...
Payal: Khushii, saara luggage le liya hai?
Did you get all the luggage?
Khushi: Haan Dii, sab kuch le liya hai, aab koyi nazar tho aaye. Itni bheer main, kahan se humein...
Yeah Di, I got everything but I can't see anyone. It's so crowded how will we --
NK: KHUSHIII ! PAYAL DII !!
Payal: Dekho, usne humein dhoondh liya
Look, he found us !
NK approaches Khushi and Payal, signaling the driver to put away their luggage in the car. NK hugs Payal and then goes for Khushi who runs and sits in the car instead. NK and Payal follow behind and get in the car.
NK: What's this Khushi, does your best friend not get a hug?
Khushi: KAUNSIII BESTT FRIENDD?! HAYEEE *she dramatically covers her face with her arm*
What best friend ?!!?!
NK: Di, kya Khushi ka screw dheela hai kya?
Is something wrong in her head?
Payal laughs and shrugs.
Khushi: HAAAW ! Diii, aap bhi bewafaaa nikliii haiii. HAYEEE DEVI MAYAAA !
OMG ! Dii, you too are a traitor. Oh Devi Mayaaa
NK: Acha meri drama queen, yeh batao iss sab dramay ka kaaraan kya hai?
Tell me my drama queen, why are you behaving like this?
Khushi: Tumhe mere jazbat, drama lagh rahe hainnn?! Haan aab koyi aur best friend jo banah liya va hai na, aapne Amreeka sheeka main !
You think my emotions, are a drama? You've made another best friend in America, that's why !!
NK: Khushii, tumhara kya karein? Acha, tum tho mere bachpan ki dost ho, aur woh bhi humara dost hai, lekin tum dono ka koyi..what you say...comparison nahin hai. Aur waise bhi, tumhare bina usse approval kaise denge? Waise Di ke liye bhi kisi ko approve karna hai !
Khushi, what do I do with you? Look your my childhood friend, and he's also my friend..but you both can't be compared. And anyway without you how can he be approved? And, you have to approve someone for Di too !
Payal: Kya? Tumne kya kaha Nanhe?
What, what did you say?
Khushi: Kuch nahin Diii, bas Nanhe ke dhimak ke screw dheela hai, aur woh humein kehta rehta hai.
Nothing Di, something is wrong with his head. He says it to me, but it's really him.
Khushi stares down NK as he had almost ruined their plan. Khushi and Payal had come to Delhi for NK's engagement/wedding but their was also another reason, there was a marriage proposal that had come for Payal, and the guy as well as his family were going to be at the wedding.
They finally reach the huge decorated bungalow in all preparation for the welcoming of their family friend's daughters and the much awaited engagement/wedding of Nand Kishore Mehra.
Khushi: Buaaa jiii !!! Kahan hai aaap?
Where are youu?
Buaji: Arre babaa arahe hain hum. Haye humari Titliya, aur Payaliya, kitni bahri hogayi hain, haye nazar na laage.
I'm coming ! Oh my butterfly and Payal, they've grown so much. May no one cast an evil eye.
Khushi: Uff Buaji ! Aapne tho kaha tha ke aap humein pick karlengi airport se, tho phir kya hua?
You said you were going to pick us up from the airport, what happened?!
Payal: Namaste Buaji
Buaji: Aahne vale thai lekin NK babua ne kaha ke woh hi pick up karlega. Aur tumhare Phupa bhi nikal rahe te office ke liye, tho isliye kaam main lagh gaye humI was going to come, but NK dear said that he would pick you up. Your Uncle was leaving to work then so I got busy with that.
NK: Chachi, aap aab humein na bhool jaana, aab aapki bhateejiyan agayi hai, tho iss liye iss bhateeje ko na bhoolna warna hum Chachu ko kahenge !
Now that your nieces are here don't forget this nephew of yours. If you forget me I'll tell Chachu !!
Buaji: Arre nahin Babua, hum humare Nand Kishore ko kaise bhoolenge? Aisa tho hi nahin sakta

Khushi: Oye hello Nanhe, chalo bohut hogaya, aab humein humari Bua se sahi tarhan milne tho dho, tumhari dosti ke chakkar main, Phupa ko Bua nazar agayi aur humse humari Bua ko itni dhoor le aaye.
Hey you, it's enough now. We met our aunt after so long, being friends with you became the reason our aunt left with uncle.
NK: Tum tho ho ji, jealous, as always !
You're always just jealous.
Khushi: TUM ! Hum koyi jealous nahin hai, DIII isse kahein na !
You ! I'm not jealous, Di tell him !
NK: DIII aap isse kahein na !
Di you tell her !!
Payal: Acha bas karo tum dono, jab bhi dekho dono shuru ho jaate ho.
Both of you stop it, you guys start whenever and wherever !
NK & Khushi: Sorry Di !
Buaji: Aab lagh raha hai, ke yeh ghar, ghar hai, ronak lagh gayi hai. Acha tum dono upar jakhe arahm kar lo, phir raat ko sabse milein na.
Now it looks like this home is a home, so much wonderful commotion. Now both of you go upstairs and rest. You'll meet everyone in the evening.
Khushi and Payal went to their rooms upstairs and NK went to run some errands.
Later that night...
Khushi knocks on her sisters door all ready to head downstairs. She had changed in to a simple white anarkali with churidaar. Her hair is up in a messy bun with a few strands coming loose framing her delicate face. Payal opens the door, and Khushi walks in. We see Payal too has changed in to light green shalwar kameez, with her hair braided to the side.
Khushi: Haye Devi Maya ! Di aapne tho sab kuch unpack kar ke rakh bhi liya hai, humne tho abhi thak suitcase ko dekha bhi nahin hai ! Aapne arahm bhi kiya hai, ke bas iss sab main lagh gayi?Oh Devi Maya ! You've already unpacked and I haven't even looked at my suitcase ! Did you even rest or just got busy with all this?
Payal: Khushi tho hum kya tumhari tarhan, kal parson thak intezaar karenge? Acha aab khaana kaahne ke baad, hum saath milke tumhara bhi room set karlenge, and saare kapre almari main rakh bhi denge, teek hai?
Khushi, so what do I do? Wait till tomorrow or the day after till I do that. Alright after dinner, I'll help you set your room up and put away al the clothes in the closet.
Khushi: Teek hai Di ! Aap sabsseee best Diii hainn !
Okay Di ! You're the best Di !!
And with that she mutters, "...isliye aapke liye sabse best husband, aur humare liye sabse best Jiju bhi chahiye hai..."
And that's why we need the best husband for you and best brother in law for me.
Payal: Kya? Tumne kya kaha Khushi? Tum tho baat karti rehti ho aapne aap se, lekin Nanhe bhi shuru hogaya hai, subah patah nahin kya keh raha tha...
What? What did you say Khushi? You talk to yourself..I know that. But now NK started to..what was he saying --
Khushi: DIII, dekho 7 bajh gaye hain, aab thak tho sab office se agaye honge ! Sabse milein phir dinner bhi karna hai na ! Aur raat ko sohne se pehle, Babuji aur Ama ko phone bhi karna hai !
Dii, look it's 7 pm. Everyone's probably back from the office. We have to meet everyone and eat dinner and before sleeping call Ama and Bauji.
Payal: Acha phir, chalo aab. Aur suno, koyi shaitaani nahin, samjhi?
Alright then, let's go. And listen, no mischief, okay?
Khushi: Uff, teek hai Dii.
They both head down the grand staircase of the Jha Mansion, a little intimidated by all the glory around them. They too came from a good family, a good home, a upper middle class household. They were well educated and their Babuji had always made sure his daughters' dreams had come true. However they still were in awe when encountered by such lavishness. Their Buaji used to live with them before she was married, to Nanhe's Chachu. Nanhe's family used to visit Lucknow every vacation, and that is when Khushi, Payal and him had become friends. This friendship became in to family relations when Nanhe's Chachu saw Khushi and Payal's Buaji and sent a marriage proposal their way. Buaji unfortunately, does not have children of her own but is very attached to the three of them, as she has been with them since their childhood. With all these thought running thru Khushi's mind...she is interrupted by Nanhe who has begun teasing her.
Nanhe: Oye Drama Queen, agayi? Neend poori hogayi kya? Just because main tumhe Drama Queen bulata hoon, aapne aap ko koyi Queen na samajhna, Titli kahin ki !
Hey Drama Queen, you're here? Slept enough? Just because I call you a Drama Queen doesn't mean you think you're any kind of Queen, get it butterfly?
Khushi: MUJHE TITLI MAHT BULAO ! Sirf Buaji mujhe iss naam se bulaati hai. Hahr cheez ko tumhari kaaraan se aab copyright karna parega kya?
Don't call me Butterfly ! Only Buaji calls me that. Will I have to copyright everything because of you?
Payal: Shush ! Tum dono ka koyi stop button hai bhi ke nahin? Aab chalo, Nanhe sab agaye hain kya?
Is there a stop button for both of you? Now let's go, NK, is everyone here now?
Nanhe: Ji Dii, sab aapka hall main wait kar rahe hain.
Yes Di, everyone's waiting in the hall.
Khushi, Payal, and Nanhe enter the hall to find a group of smiling faces welcoming them.
Khushi & Payal: Namaste !
Nanhe: Acha, aab introductions karwaa lete hain, waise tho sab ek doosre ko jaante hain, lekin main yeh formality poori karlete hoon.
Alright, let's do some introductions. You do know everyone but still.
Anurag Jha: Beta, aab tum itni bhi acting na karo yeh hum yeh samjhe ke hum film dekhne aaye hain.
Son, don't act so much that we feel like we're watching a movie.
Khushi suppresses giggles as Payal grabs her hand, signaling her to stay shut.
Nanhe: Sorry Dad ! Well, Dad here's Khushi and Payal, Khushi & Payal here's Dad !
Khushi: Namaste Uncle !
Payal: Namaste Uncle, aap kaise hain?
Anurag: Main teek hoon, tum sunao, ghar main sab kaise hain?
I'm good, you tell me, how's everyone at home?
Payal: Ji sab teek hain.
Anurag Jha: He is the eldest member (now that his older brother had passed), head of household of the Jha family, and NK's father. Quiet and respected, he's a family man. He isn't expressive of his love as his wife is, but does care deeply for everyone. Very set on values, he does not step away from them or let his family do so. Sometimes surprises the family with his light-hearted comments.

Devani: Dhat ! Aisa nahin kehte.

Khushi: Aur kisi ko milaane ki zaroorat nahin hai ! Yeh hain humari Bua ji ! Aur Phupa ji ko tho hum jaante hi hain ! Haina?
And you don't have to introduce anyone else to us ! This is our Bua and we know our Phupa ij. Right?
Deepak Jha: He was the youngest in the family of three brothers. He doted on his older brother, and respected him very much. He at times felt he was not up to the mark, but his insecurities were filled by the unconditional love from his wife, Madhumati. He loved his nieces and considered them daughters of his own though related to them by marriage. His two nephews were more of his sons. He helped run the family business with his elder brother Anurag. They both had together made Jha Constructions one of the most well-known companies in the Construction Industry.

Though Payal was much more reserved than Khushi, they both felt like children when surprised by their Phupaji with gifts.
Deepak: Haan, yeh lo meri rajkumariyaan.

Nanhe: Everyone, except one person.

Khushi: Akash Bhai? He's here, in India? Last time we saw him, was when we were young..he was in boarding school !
Akash Jha: The eldest son of the Jha family. His father and mother both passed away in a car crash when he was younger, and then decided he wanted to be far away from India. His two chachus send him to boarding school in America. He had visited a couple of time but for only a week at a time, never giving Khushi and Payal enough time to actually ever see him. He was 27 years old, but set with had just completed his MBA and now working back in India in his family business.
Nanhe: Aab woh yahan aagaye hain !
Now he's back here!
Khushi: Hum unse kab mil sakte hain?
When will we get to meet him?
Nanhe: Breakfast tomorrow, he's in a meeting that'll run till late.
Khushi: Wow ! Main itni excited hoon !
Nanhe smiled with a nervous undertone and then they all proceeded to go for dinner. After dinner was done, everyone went to do their own thing. Payal had told Khushi she'd help with her room so headed upstairs, telling Khushi to follow quickly.
Khushi was heading upstairs her room when Nanhe grabbed her by the arm and pulled her in to his room which was downstairs near the hall.
Khushi: KYAAA HAII?!
Nanhe: SHUT UP !
Khushi: Ouch, my arm !!
Nanhe: Ok, suno, mujhe tumse kuch kehna hai...
Ok, listen I have to tell you something.
And then...
Khushi: Ewww chii, please koyi drama na karna mujhse, ke tumhe aapni mangaitar se nahin mujhse pyar hai, blah blah, ewww.
Eww don't start with some drama that you love me and not your fiance, ewww.
Nanhe: Itni achi kismet nahin hai tumhari, aur shukar hai Bhagwan ka, na itni buri kismet hai meri !
Your destiny isn't that good and thank God my destiny isn't that bad !
Khushi: NK I'm going tooo
Nanhe: Alright, shush listen..don't get mad okay? Promise?
Khushi: Mhmm, what is it?
Nanhe: Promise karo !
Khushi: Teek hai, promise.
Nanhe: Remember I said that the rishta that had come for Di was from my best friend, the one in America?
Khushi: I know, so what's your point?
Nanhe: Okay, so I fibbed..a little lie. Chota sa jhoot.
Khushi: What jhoot?!
Nanhe: Rishta tho aaya hai Di ke liye, America main tha larka...par..

Nanhe: Okay so don't kill me but the rishta isn't on my best friends' behalf but Akash Bhai's and I didn't tell you because I didn't want you to blow it in front of everyone and don't kill me but I had to tell you now so I did and that is !
Nanhe reaches up to cover his face incase Khushi was to throw something at him but was surprised when after five seconds he didn't get any response, verbally or physically.
Nanhe: Khushi?
Khushi let out a deep sigh.
Khushi: Right now, I feel like throwing something at you ! Like super hard ! But oh my God I'm so excited ! Di ! Akash Bhai ?!
Nanhe: Everyone is in on it but Di and Bhai. We have to wait till they meet each other, if we see any chemistry then we can let the adults now and phir yeh rishta aage bhar sakta hai.
Khushi: HAYEEE ! KITNIII ROMANTIC STORYY HAII !
Nanhe: Hellooo ! Khushiii !! *He waves his hand in front of her face*
Khushi: KYA HAIII?!
Nanhe: We don't need anything yet so stop dreaming !
Khushi: THO iska matlab hai, tumhara koyi Amreeekaa se dost nahin aayega? Tumhara koyi dost hai hi nahin?! Hahahahhaha, hum bhi sochein, ke tum jaise pagal se dosti kaun karega? Hum tho bachpan main nadaan thai, isliye dosti kar behte !
So that means there's not friend in America? No friend? Hahahaha no wonder, I was thinking who would become friends with a crazy like you? I was innocent and became friends with you when we were kids.
Nanhe: You're right. I am crazy. But for being friends with you ! And I do have a friend, and he will be coming for my wedding ! Why don't we set you up with him??
Khushi: Shaadi?! And me?? I'm only 22 !! Di and you are the one's supposed to get married.
Nanhe: Yeah, yeah.
Nanhe: Acha aab Di ko kuch maht kehna, aab chalo warna Di tumhe dhoondh te dhoondh te yahan aajayegi !
Now don't say anything to Di, now lets go before Di comes finding us.
Khushi: Chalo !
With that Khushi grinned from ear to ear, aware of the secret now. They went in to Khushi's room and helped Payal with the unpacking while goofing around. As the packing finished Nanhe went to his room and Payal to hers. They all were all set to go sleep but Khushi, excited for the day ahead of her went to her sisters room instead and started talking. With that they both fell asleep much later that night and missed breakfast in the morning.
Khushi: *Yawns and then rubs her eyes* Diii kahan ho aaap? Diii !!
Khushi opens her eyes and sees her Dii nowhere in the room, she panics suddenly and realizes that it's almost 10 am ! She had overslept, oh crap, what will she do now? She ran in to the shower and after putting on her pink shalwar kameez ran downstairs to see a empty hall and table. Confused about everyone's whereabouts she went to the kitchen and saw Payal and Nanhe talking.
Khushi: DIII ! Aapne mujhe uthayaaa kyun nahin?! It's 10 am. Pata nahin sab kya sochte honge, ke main itni dehr thak sohti rehti hoon?!
Di ! You didn't wake me up?? It's 10 am !! What will everyone think of me??
Nanhe: Tho iss main kaunsi baat hai? Tum ho hi lazy.
What's new in this? You're lazy.
Khushi: DI ! Isse kahe mere saath subah subah shuru na hoye.
Di ! Tell him not to start with me so early in the morning !!
Payal: Nanheee ! she scolded gently.
Nanhe: Ahaha sorry Di, it's so fun teasing her !
Payal laughs and shakes her head and starts on some breakfast for Khushi and Nanhe.
Payal: Khushi because of you I woke late too ! Everyone had left for the office. Devyani Aunty & Bua ji also went out for shopping. NK and I were waiting for you to have breakfast.
Khushi: HAWW ! Tho Akash bhai se nahi mili aap?!
So you haven't met Akash Bhai ??
Nanhe gives her the staredown and Khushi realizes her overexcitement will clue her in.
Payal: No...but what are you so excited about?
Khushi: Just like that Di ! Alright let's eat and go meet the girl who chose him as her husband, tsk tsk.
Nanhe: Shut up !
Khushi: YOU shut up !
Payal: Both of you, chup kar jao ! And chalo, table pe, nashta aab tayar hogaya hai, main aati hoon.
Khushi & Nanhe: Teek Hai Diii !
Khushi : Stop copying me !
Nanhe: YOUUU !!
Payal: OUT !
They both left the kitchen to the dining hall and sat waiting there for their breakfast.
Khushi: Tell, me what's the plan??
Nanhe: Why do you try to whisper? You even scream while whispering, it's the same as speaking so why bother?
Khushi: Stop finding faults in me and tell me the plan !!
Nanhe: Kya plan? What plan, koyi plan nahin hai Khushi.
Khushi: So how are Di and Akash Bhai going to meet and like each other ???
Nanhe: They'll meet ! Don't use your head please !
Khushi: SHUT UP ! Tumhe ho hi pagal, baat karna hi fazool hai, tum tho bas.. !
You're crazy, talking to you is a waste of time, you just !!
Payal: Khushi ! Tum kyun itni larai karti ho?!
Khushi: But Di...
Payal: Enough ! Go to your room after breakfast. NK you go meet her, we'll meet her when she comes for dinner tonight.
Nanhe: Di it's not a big deal, we both were...
Payal: No NK, don't take her side.
Khushi barely ate anything and went upstairs to her room. Nanhe left as well to meet his to-be fianc.
Payal knocks and enters Khushi's room to see her sitting on her bed flipping thru channels on the television.
Payal: Khushi...
Khushi: No Di, you know how me and him are. We weren't actually fighting, that's how we are. We're best friends. So why did you get mad at me??
Payal: I know he's your best friend Titli, and I know how much your friendship with him means to both of you. But he's getting married now Khushi. I don't know how his to be wife is like, or how she will feel about your equation with him. So try to argue so much, even if it's for fun..in front of anyone. Plus, this isn't our house you know. It's Buaji's in laws and we don't want to do anything that'll cause any embarrassment for her.
Khushi: I won't fight, but my equation won't change with him !! It doesn't matter who is around us, his family or his to be wife !
Payal: Teek hai Baba.
Everyone went about their day, and at night was the time to meet Nanhe's to be fianc !
