CHAPTER 6

Sanyukta felt something on her head and woke up with a start only to realize that she had been sleeping on Randhir' s shoulder. She smiled as a Distant memory came rushing to her mind. That when years ago, Randhir decided to leave the college and she had gone searching for him. On their way back to college , She had slept on Randhir 's shoulder just like today. She smiled to herself and settled back to her former position.

Hours later, Randhir and Sanyukta sat at the transit airport having breakfast. After that they decided to move into the lounge and wait there. The lounge was empty.

As they sat side by side , Randhir side glanced at her face. He could' nt control anymore and he engulfed her in bone crushing hug. All the love ,passion and warmth he had felt for her in her absence surfaced to the rim and he buried his face in the crook of her neck and let his walls crumble. He cried , wondering why were they in such a state now? How on earth did everything go so awfully wrong?

Sanyukta , on the other hand simply hugged him back with all her strength. She felt a surge of emotions herself , but she knew that Randhir now deserved to know the truth. The truth about her. The truth about them. She slowly left Randhir and dried his tears. Randhir looked at her with his expressive eyes which demanded answers , she understood his inner turmoil. He bent down on his knees in front of her and asked her ," Sanyu, I want to know , why you did'nt try to stop me that day. You knew very well that when I will go away , we may never be together again..Then why? Was my love not strong and true enough that you got married not once , but twice . you even have a daughter right? How could you be so ruthless? How could you handle our bond so roughly? Why did you break me like this? Why... and he broke down. Hiding his face in her lap . He cried his heart out.

Sanyukta was shocked for while. What is Randhir talking about ? Two Marriages ? Daughter ? What is he saying ...Then it struck to her , it meant that her doubt was right. She had remembered that on Myrah's birthday she had seen two men sat the gate of her house . She saw them from far away. She remembered how her heart skipped a beat when she saw the man with a bouquet in his hands. She had thought that it might be Randhir, but before she could approach him , that man had walked out of her house... She slowly helped Randhir up and wiped his tears with her fingers and cupped his face. She looked at him for a while and then she spoke.

" Randhir, I know I owe you an explanation. Please listen to me carefully and promise me that you won't hate me after hearing it all. I still remember that day in our third year when you told me that you are preparing for your MBA entrance exam . I was very happy that you were so sure about your future whereas I was still in doubt whether I would be allowed to work for my father's company after the fourth year or would I be married off to someone else. Also, that day on the FITE Terrace before our final year examinations , when you told me that you will be gone to London . I did'nt want to stop you from pursuing something which you had dreamt of , because I knew how hard you had worked on that exam. Also , knowing your love for me , you would have not gone ahead with your studies if I had shed a single tear that day. I did'nt want to stop you from going as that would have been very selfish. I still remember how much I had cried that night after you had left . One day before my last exam I received a call from my father telling me that , Sameer and his family want the engagement and marriage to done away with that week itself . He wanted me to come back home that very night, but somehow I convinced him to let me give my last exam . The next day as soon as the exam ended, I quietly left without informing anyone. And no one noticed as well cause they were all so busy partying and enjoying that no one in that jolly crowd noticed me walking out of the campus with my suitcase. I got married that week itself . By then I had mentally prepared myself that this is the life that I have to lead and I have to accept it the way it has turned out . Maybe because I was born a girl and was destined to be known as Someone's Daughter or sister or wife. But just a week later , Sameer died in a car crash. I was widowed within a week of my marriage. I cursed my fate and thought that I have nothing but sadness to bear with throughout my life. I returned back home, where to my surprise , my father embraced me and apologized to me . He felt guilty for spoiling my life this way. He said that now he will not put anymore restrictions on me. He appointed me as the MD of our company. I engrossed myself in my work so that I could be happy or at least try to be happy...I had promised my mother during the dream team contest that I will make Papa's company a multinational. And then that became the aim of my life. I went to Canada to innaugrate the new office of my company there. That's where I Met Frank . He has been a great friend all those years I spent there. He worked in my company as the head of my production team so we have been very close. I did not marry him Randhir neither do I have a daughter. Myrah is Frank's daughter. His wife died while giving birth . I Have seen Myrah since she was an infant which is why I love her like my own offspring. Every year I celebrate Myrah's birthday at my house . So that she does not feel the absence of a mother . All these years , you were not the only one who has been alone . I was alone too. I have died every day waiting for you Randhir. But you never came. I always stopped my self from coming back to India especially Delhi because of the many memories I have there. Memories of you Randhir! I love you very, very much... There can never be anyone else, but you Randhir , I'm really very sorry . Pls Forgive Me For staying away . But I did that because I did'nt want to be a roadblock in your way..." and the tears came down flowing like a river.

Randhir sat there numb. He had been so wrong about her, He had doubted her love for him all these years . He had thought she left him... But for the first time in life , Randhir Singh Shekhawat was wrong . Utterly wrong . He came back to her senses hearing her sobs and he slowly touched her shoulders, she crashed her body against his craving for his warmth. Her safe haven. Every muffled sob from her mouth broke his heart into a million pieces again. Between her sobs , she asked him, " You don't hate me right?"

To which he lovingly looked at her and said ," Even if I take another Birth , I will never be able to hate you again."

He slowly leaned closer and kissed her. After a long wait of 10 years , they kissed each other and promised to stay together till the end . They slowly stood up from the floor and were about to leave when Sanyukta was pulled back by Randhir. She turned around and saw Randhir on his knees with a ring in his hand . A diamond ring with small pink stones around it. Just as she wanted her ring to be .

" Sanyukta Agarwal , would you like to see this poor soul happy for the rest of his life ? You complete me in every aspect ... Will you be mine...Forever??"

To say that Sanyukta was happy would be a understatement , she jumped like a small girl would on seeing her brand new doll house... she knelt down and hugged him back . so tightly as if she feared that this might be a dream and that he might disappear away into the air...

She kissed him with all her might and Randhir responded with equal fervor . They felt complete after a wait of 10 long years. He slipped the ring in her finger and kissed her forehead and whispered those words which she had craved for , " I love you Sanyu . You and me , always and Forever !

A|N - I hope I have come up to your expectations, but don't worry there is more to this story. Tis is not the last chapter. Maybe 2,3 chapters more and I'll end the story .
