I had conceived the idea of writing a contemporary romance with both protagonists doctors, a long time back..while I was still writing ALS. At that time, I had no plans of including Kashmir or saffron in the story, but then, during thanksgiving break, over a dish of delicious saffron scented biryani cooked by my sister and a conversation on saffron initiated by my hubby( who's an encyclopedia of obscure trivia), I suddenly developed an interest in Kashmir and saffron farming...Read up on it and got the idea of adding it to the other story :)

We'll know all about Lavanya very soon..

i am listening faiz Ahmed faiz poetry at this moment and these lines remind me where arnav was thinking about khushi.

Raat yun dil mein teri, khoyi hui yaad aayi
Jaise viraane mein chupke se bahaar aa jaye
Jaise sahraon mein haule se chale baad-ae-naseem
Jaise bimaar ko be-wajaah quraar aa jaaye

english translation

Last night your faded memory came to me
As in the wilderness spring comes quietly,
As, slowly, in the desert, moves the breeze,
As, to a sick man, without cause, comes peace

I'm just discovering Urdu poetry...and man, what a treasure trove !!

I wish my Urdu were better because I'm told that translations just don't cut it :/

I love...love this...has it been sung by someone? I don't know why but it sounds vaguely familiar.

And so APT for Arnav's POV :)

yeah translation always take away the real essence but for understanding we need it

and yes its sung by nayyara noor Pakistani singer and this was also used in one of the most popular drama of Pakistan dhoop kinare.
