This part is dedicated to PrachiJainn. I pestered the poor girl until she gave me her wish. Poor thing was extremely busy. Hope you like it Prachi. Like last time I will put the wish at the bottom and do tell me if I fulfilled it.
Part 17:
The next morning Sanyu woke up at the crack of dawn. She got ready really quietly as Manasvi and Kaustuki were still sleeping like logs. She grabbed her dupatta and a shawl and set out to see the sunrise today. She had never seen sunrise before, even when they were in Kerala. Sanyu had missed it as she was late. She started walking to a little ledge near the lake. Not to her surprise a lot of people were already up and were getting started on their day. She reached the ledge and was going to make herself comfortable when she saw the slightly hunched back of someone. She could recognised that posture anywhere. It was Randhir. Smiling a little to herself she walked up and said "Hi, Randhir"
Randhir was waking up quite early these past few months. Not because he wanted to promote some sort of healthy living but because Parth wakes up really early and goes to practice TaiChi. Randhir being a really light sleeper got used to waking up early. Ever since they arrived at the village Randhir made a habit of coming here everyday to watch the sunrise. It gave him some unspoken relief and a sense of serene calmness. He was sitting as usual waiting for another beautiful start to a day when he heard her voice call out to him.
Sanyu walked over to Randhir, she sat next to him, indulging in light conversation. Soon the first rays of morning light spread across the blanket of dark clouds. The sun in all its orange and red glory spread out its rays through the sky brightening it. While Randhir and Sanyu were busy basking in the beauty of the scenery, the whole was seen by another tracksuit clad person who was watching them with a knowing smirk. Parth stumbled upon this sight when he was coming back from his jog, Randhir and Sanyu were unknowingly leaning into each other while watching the beautiful sight. Parth's mum always told him that the most important people in our lives are the ones we lean towards in happiness and despair. He remembered that thought and smiled at its representation of it in front of his eyes. He walked away silently, while wishing that these two always stay this away and overcome all the hurdles in life together. He left them to stare and admire the bright orb of energy in the sky, while he went off to get ready and see his little ball of energy.
Manasvi woke up groggily rubbing her eyes as she could feel the light on her face. She rolled over and woke up Kaustuki. Seeing no progress, she left her bed and went to get ready. When Manasvi got back, she nearly laughed at the sight infront of her. Sanyu was ready with a glass of water ready to pour it on Kaustuki's face. Manasvi rushed in to stop her, she whispered something in Sanyu's ear. With an evil smile they started tickling Kaustuki and she finally decided to wake up. While a grumpy Kaustuki left to get ready, Manasvi decided to do a little investigating based on her gut instinct. "btw Sanyu, tum itni subah subah kahan chali gayi?". I went to see the sunrise at the lake with Randhir. With Randhir eh? Manasvi poked at her. "such mein sunrise dekhne gayi thi? Ya Mr MCP Randhir Shekawat ko?" Sanyu looked away to hide her blush and Manasvi just threw her head back and laughed. When were these two going to make up their minds. Even Sameer wasn't in the way now.
They had finally gotten Kaustuki to a semi alert state and started out to their workshop to start building their water machine. This was their original plan as some farmers had to actually carry water manually as their water transportation system wasn't one of the most efficient. They had built a prototype already and were gathering some villagers to demonstrate the machine. The boys had gathered around as well, since the task was boys vs girls. Sanyu started explaining the machine, its materials and how it was supposed to work while Manasvi and Kaustuki started showing the different parts and how to operate it. Manasvi turned it on and it worked perfectly fine. But since they were working near a harvested crop something got stuck in the pipes and the machine stopped. Manasvi got down to work, she rolled up her Patiala pants and tried to get the piece of straw stuck in the pipe. A few minutes later and muddy arms and legs she emerged victorious. The machine started again. Just when they thought they had finished their task super early. Priya comes over to them and starts her questions. "how can a regular house wife fix the problems of this machine? Manasvi, you are a modern person, you can roll up your pants and go down in the mud and pull out the piece of straw, but how can someone in a ghagra or a saree do the same? You call yourself a smart player right? How did you forget that you have to invent something that is compatible to every single person in the village?" with that Priya flicked her hair and walked off. Soon the village women started agreeing to Priya and flat out said that they cant do stuff like this. To their surprise, the sarpanch came up to them and said that though he didn't expect much of them, this idea was really good but they have to do better if they want to beat the CIBT team whose one idea had already been accepted.
Soon the numbers of the crowd dwindled and the only people left were the three girls. Manasvi looked heart broken and numb, since it was her idea and she assured the girls that everyone will love it. She started apologising to the girl as she let them down and they wasted all their time building this prototype that no one likes. The girls tried to convince her that it happens all the time and not to be disheartened. She walked off. Sanyu and Kaustuki were disheartened at their friend but returned to their house helplessly. But Sanyu couldn't handle it anymore, she went to Randhir near the workshop as asked him Manasvi came over, he said no! When he asked what the issue was, she related the whole machine incident to him. Randhir listened to it and realised that Parth wasn't at the workshop - maybe Manasvi and Parth were together somewhere. With that they set out to finding their respective best friends. Soon they found Parth smiling with a girl, they faintly heard words like "you should've seen her face, mud on everything" it didn't take them long to realise that Priya was talking to Parth about Manasvi. Randhir was about to go knock his head off for smiling politely instead of asking Priya to shut up, but then he saw Manasvi's crumbling figure not much further away from Parth and Priya. One look at her face and you could tell that she heard everything. Seeing Manasvi run, Sanyu and Randhir went after her.
They finally reached the ledge near the lake where Manasvi was standing. Like some sort of twisted fate, the sun was setting. Destiny was a cruel thing, while the rising sun witnessed a new start between two people, the setting sun saw a broken heart on the same day. They slowly walked towards her, Sanyu put a hand on Manasvi's shoulder. She was a little startled but tried to put on a smile but tears reached faster than her smile. Sanyu just hugged her. "why does it keep happening to me? Im trying to stay strong Sanyu, I really am. But everytime I feel like im taking a step forward, I get pushed back a mile. I really wanted to do well in this task, I thought I was too but then Priya came up and I just felt like reality just hit me in my face. I was so engrossed in wanting to finish that task that I didn't look at the basic requirement. I ruined the whole thing. Just when I thought I need to get over this and stay strong and supportive for the rest of the team, I see those two together laughing over me. I actually wanted to talk to Parth, I thought he could probably give me some advice since he wasn't involved in this but he was too busy I guess. And I did get a good advice right? Never expect too much of anyone." Randhir couldn't take it anymore. This girl was a ball of energy, where did it all go? He pulled Manasvi by her arm and looked at her face and said. "Manasvi you are one of the strongest people I know, if you crumble like this then everyone else is going to be really dull and anyway who asked you to go to Parth? You have Mother India right behind you, advice chahiye to Sanyukta ke pass jao, sabko hamesha free advice deti rehti hain! Now stop crying wapis jao apna project complete karo. Crying is not going to do anything for you! With that he held her face in his hands and wiped her tears away. "Now come on be a good girl aur chalo. I promise when I get back to our house ill trip Parth on his feet. The next time you see him he is going to have a very big bruise."
With that Manasvi gave out a teary smile, and hugged both Randhir and Sanyukta with each arm. "you guys are the best!". With a few last motivational words Randhir sent out both his favourite girl to their houses. They were nearly at the door when Manasvi whispered "Good Choice Sanyu ! I don't mind my jiju at all..."
