He slipped into a random seat, sighing in relief as he turned his melancholy gaze out of the window. People were rushing about like headless chickens, the calls of the coolies and the whistles of other trains adding to the chaotic noise outside. Vendors yelled out prices as people milled about the track, downing chai and bisicuits by the liter. He heard his train blow the whistle and begin to move, slowly pulling away.

"Arey Anna!! Jara wait karna! I'm coming!" The high voice of a girl with a thick South Indian accent called out, a hint of panic underlying her tone.

He rolled his eyes as a flash of color sprinted up to the train, backpack and hair swinging as she pulled up onto the now rapidly moving vehicle.

"You know, I've never missed a train in my life! Not one!" She panted, her voice loud against the silence of the cabin. Her South Indian accent was pronounced as she shoved her bag into the hands of the man standing by her, sharply instructing him to handle it carefully. She turned around, her braid falling onto her shoulder as she stopped in front of his seat. He looked up to see bright red leggings, a neon kurta, and curious hazel eyes gazing down at him

"Excuse me, you're in my seat, sir."
