Chapter 5
Randhir's P.O.V
I was still standing with my back to the wall, while doctor did her check-up. She walked towards her desk, Vardhan sir was already sitting there, and motioned her hand towards me then to the chair as if asking me to join them. I went there and sat without speaking.
"You are her... ?" She asked me.
"Classmate" 'Mortal enemy' wasn't a good reply, afterall.
"Just a classmate?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Nothing"
"Is she okay?" I asked. I was furious due to my confusion.
"I have some questions to ask" she said, completely ignoring my question.
"Sure" Virdhan sir finally spoke.
"Is sanyukta suffering from sleepless nights or excessive sleeping?" She asked sir. I knew the answer to this.
"The later. Ms. sleepy-head. Comes late to every lecture" I taunted before sir could reply. The doctor noted something on her paper.
"Uhmm.. From past few days has she lost interest in her hobbies and passion?" She asked. I gasped.
"Yes! Like, for example, today. She couldn't solve any questions though she's so passionate about mechanics" I answered.
"Okay" she noted something again "How is she with people? Like how many friends does she have? Is she introvert or extrovert?" Now she was asking all the questions to me instead of sir.
"Two or three. But from few days she has been avoiding conversations" 'especially from me' I wanted to add but resisted. She kept on with her notes.
"Is she facing criticism and opposition? If yes, then from whom?"
"Yes. She wants to do ME but her family doesn't want her to" I said, confused now. Why is she asking this stuff?
"Have they made her do something against her will?" She asked, without looking up from her paper.
"Uhmm, they are trying to get her married. Does that count?"
She nodded to show approval.
"But doctor, what's wrong with her?" Vardhan sir asked "And why are you asking these questions?"
The reply from the doctor made my heart and mind, both stop for an entire second.
"Mr. Suryavanshi, I think Sanyukta is in depression"
"What?!! That can't be true. She is such a strong girl. She isnt weak. Sanyukta isnt weak, you get that?! She's a strong girl!" I actually shouted on her.
She smiled, calmly.
"You are definately much more than just a classmate. What's your name?"
"Randhir" I replied, still furious.
"So Randhir, have you seen a tree? A big one? It's strong right? You push it, it doesn't break, does it? But when a storm comes, it falls. It breaks. Every thing and everyone has a breaking point, even the strong ones"
"So Sanyukta broke due to the storm of opposition?" I asked, feeling defeated now.
"Exactly, she could face it when it came from some people because she is strong. But when, eventually, the intensity and quantity increased, she couldn't take it anymore"
"Doctor, add my the name in the list" I said.
"What list?"
"List of persons who are responsible for her state and I swear I'll also be in the list of persons who made her normal again" I said, determined. The doctor smiled.
"Definately much more than a classmate"

It was half an hour now, from the time Sanyukta had fainted. Doctor had said she'll wake up by now. I was waiting her to wake up. The doctor had gone to the canteen. Virdhan sir had a lecture to give. I was alone with Sanyukta in the room and my eyes were fixed on her closed ones.
The doctor had advised not to give any medicines as Sanyu was just on the doorstep of depression and she'd advised us not to tell her about it so that she doesn't overthinks.
I saw her eyelids moving. I came closer to her bed. She opened her eyes. For some seconds she just stared at the ceiling than she sat up, shocked to see her surroundings.
"Medical room? Main yahan kya kar rahi hoon?"
"You fainted, farzi. Glucose ki kami" I winked at her. She ignored me and got out of the bed. She took her bag and started walking towards the door.
"Aree, thank you to bol do" I called after her. She went out the door, totally ignoring me.
Uff!! She hates me! How will I make her okay when she isnt even ready to talk with me?

I reached my room. Parth was there, on his bed, listening to the radio again. Unbelievably , the song "Memphis" was going on, again. Though this time the lyrics, which were going on, were :
I'd like to give you what you need
I try, but you're making it hard for me
How do I make you believe? Oh god, seriously? How much more relatable can this song be?
"Tumhare radio me koi aur gaana nhi bajta?" I asked as I gave out a laugh, without humour, at my condition.
"Mae radio nahi sun raha hoon. Aapko Justin pasand nahi kya?"
"Nahi! Pyar mohabbat k hi gaane gaata hai sirf. And I hate love" I said, proudly.
"His lyrics are good" he said.
"Zarurat se zyada relatable hain"
"Matlab?" He asked, confused.
"Nothing, anyways, mujhe tumse kuch baat karni thi"
"Yeah?"
"Parth, will you help me? I want to be Sanyukta's friend"
