A wedding is an event where almost every emotion is heightened, every nuance exaggerated. Amidst beauty and promises of love and forever, there is grief, nervousness, anxiety, despair, anger, jealousy, lust, longing, yearning, promises and heartaches
And to me, that is what Chapter 28 was about.
Whether is was Anjali's jitters, Anya's beautiful calming of her sister, Khushi's happy glee and quiet support to Anjali, Anjali's own teasing yet understanding play on Khushi and Arnav, her thoughs about Shyam and how much he was for, Arnav's lover's anger with his lady even as she remains the center of his universe, lovers everywhere in different stages of companionship, Akash and Payal's little moment of angst, Manorama's terrible words and Payal's whip-lash of a reply yet laced with so much pain
This was a chapter of roller coaster emotions and I felt each and every one of them
And all of this when I didn't fail to notice the gold leaf mirror, the flowers, the Amaranth pink tie, the Swavroski crystal on an orange sari, the Jodha like bride, the black Prada bag...
Only you can do both with such ease, Sandhya. Hats off for a beautiful chapter. One of your best so far.
PS: I had tears for Payal. And whether Akash is great or not, Manorama Raizada's words shouldn't have been for anyone to hear. Empathy is highly undervalued. Wonder if Manohar Raizada the man who was so thrilled about his sister's wish being fulfilled, understands this shade to his wife's personality.
