Chapter One
~Instead of crying because of past pain, it's better to smile for future; even if it's a fake smile!~
Sanyukta.
The sound of her luggage rolling on the streets echoed softly. It was just 2am, the time between the night and sunrise. Her steps were heavy as if with each step she was leaving a part of her behind. Her eyes were dark and swollen. her cheeks were colored with the stains of dry tears. Her lips were pale as if she had been chewing it since long. Her hair was tied in an odd bun. Every part of screamed that she was tired, but she wont give up! Never!
Her eyes fixated on the horizon, she was walking with determination. But she wasn't alone, not that she cared anything about those thugs who were following for god knows from when! She didn't bother that she had been stalked. Because to her there was one aim, to reach her destination!
She heard few nasty comments from the footsteps that had now reached dangerously close to her. But, she didn't fear, she didn't care! The street was deserted, not that anybody would have cared anyway! She felt the footsteps slow down, she could feel the voice close, very very close. A flick of fear passed through her nerves, and disappeared just as it had come. Suddenly the sound of car screech echoed loudly, she turned around to face the BMW that had stopped inches away from her. She could also see the blur images of few thugs behind the car who were shocked by sudden intrusion. But to her, it didn't matter.
A man in his late twenties or early thirties or whatever, walked out from his car. He was wearing black, from top to bottom, even his spectacle were black lined. The stubble in his face complimented his looks. No, she wasn't checking him out, she was surprised instead. Surprised by what this man was doing by almost running his car upon her. Giving no heed to the intruder or those thugs, she turned on her heels to walk away.
"Girl and Midnight is deadly combination, even Ghandhiji agrees! Akeli ladki, Andheri raat, sun-saan sadke, is a bad equation if you didn't know miss."
She tripped on her toes when his deep voice stuck her ears. Not that she didn't expect him to speak, after all he was right. It wasn't everyday scene that a girl, young teenage girl walking with her luggage on a deserted road!
She glanced at her side bag which was now lying on the road with her things spilled out. She didn't like it. She didn't like it when it was a mess, she was already tired of cleaning her own messed up life and she couldn't afford any more mess in her life. She bent down gathering her stuff while he continued to stare her with eye brow raised.
"F.I.T.E?" he asked scrutinizing a small sized token that had fallen somewhere to where he was standing. He picked it up glancing at the name "Sanyukta Agarwal?" he asked. Sanyukta looked up to meet his eyes with an alarm. Did she start hating her name too? She sighed for the first time that night.
Knowing that he wouldn't get any answer from her, "Shall I drop you? Am I on my way to F.I.T.E!" he offered with an authoritative tone. She didn't like it. Uh. She had started disliking many things now. Isn't it?
Without a word she sat inside his car with all her stuffs dumping into the seat next to hers. He was surprised, that would be an understatement to say. Nevertheless, he didn't care either. He gave her F.I.T.E card back to her once he was inside his car. She took it without casting him a look. He wanted to ask why she was clutching a file so dearly, but he chose not to. This girl was, um well different? But the girl lacked brains, and he didn't appreciate girls without brains!
Randhir.
He stared out of the window crawling up in his recliner like an abandoned ball. It was dark, in his room, outside world as well as the life he was leading. He believed he knew how to lighten up the darkness, but he couldn't save himself from such days, such days that resembled an eclipse. Such days where he was vulnerable; such days where his lighting powers went missing! Such days where he remained in a dark room as tears graced his cheeks. It was one of those days where he could do nothing but hate his fate.
"Randhir baba? You didn't sleep yet? Its 2 am at night go to sleep baba" the old maid of his house entered his room with voice full of concern.
Sometimes randhir really wished he would have been born in this poor man's house. He would be much happier; he would be in peace to the least.
"Kailash Kaka leave me alone!" he said, his voice showing no emotions but dejection. Kailash had learnt one thing over the 18 years he had known this boy, when Randhir was emotionally weak listen to whatever he says! And so the old man decided to leave him alone. "Actually, wait kaka. It's good to see you before I leave" Randhir said as the room lights turned on. Kailash could now see randhir fully dressed and his duffel bag pulled up his shoulders.
"Where are you going baba?? What do I tell to Maalikh? Why are you going baba? For how long.. and-" Kailash fired him questions one after other in panic. Randhir cut him of by placing his assuring hand on his shoulders "I will be fine! Trust me" was all randhir said. "But-" Kaka tried to object, he couldn't see his little boy go away for god knows where and how long. One look in randhir eyes he knew, Randhir needed this break. A break from everything that was going around in his life lately! Kailash gave him a small smile. Pulling his bag up his shoulders Randhir marched towards the door.
"And haa, Maalik se kehna- I won't return, ever!"
Sitting on his bike randhir looked towards the gate with determination. He would be gone. Gone away from this house, he would free! Not that anyone had ever restricted him, but he felt suffocated to be in this house.

With the highest speed he fled, far far away to his destination. "F.I.T.E I am coming!"
There in the other corner of the state, a huge college stood in all its pride. As a black BMW made its way inside the gates, she smiled with pride "F.I.T.E I have come! "
