Just thought I'd respond to the most important line in this post first 😉...

Too long, she says? Really Juhi? You have written Chapter 1 in two parts. Two brilliant parts.

And I don't think there's anyone here who would complain about the chapter being "too long". It's way past midnight here and there was no way I was going to wind up without reading through each part.

Have a good trip to India.

Will comment on the chapter after my second/third read-through.

Sorry for the delay, Juhi. AD is really tough these days...

First off, I want to reiterate how much I love this story and this Khushi and Arnav. Both confident (well, mostly anyway 😊), successful, young professionals who make no bones about speaking their minds. No unnecessary coyness or speaking in circles.

Payal is the typical young indulged daughter/sister whose sense of entitlement won't let her think of anyone else's happiness before her own. Her dismissal of Khushi's own feelings in the matter and her accusing Khushi of being "selfish" were rather ironical!

And now Khushi's starting to think that way too..."And so I decide that I will put myself first, for once. I will be selfish, just like Payal accused me of being."

But Khushi ISN'T quite putting herself first still, is she? She's still doing this mainly for Payal and her future with Akash.

The pre-nuptial contract...I applaud Khushi for her independence, her self-respect in her refusal to accept anything more than the initial settlement. Obviously Arnav's never met anyone like her. His experience has probably been more the "take as much as I can get from the guy" kind of women.

And most of all I applaud her for her unapologetically career-focused views "I have never aspired to be a housewife, and if you are expecting that, then I..."👏

Brilliant. I have always told you that one of the things I love most about your Khushis is the fact that they are intelligent, accomplished, career-minded women. And while I have nothing against the gharelu type (I'm one myself😉), I particularly like this about your heroines.

And now I'm looking forward to seeing how she's going to stop this sexy, bare-chested "force of nature"...😆

What an update...
So that is the mystery behind the marriage...
It was a total awesome chapter right from the beginning. .. but how does he know her name when he is standing in the balcony I wonder...
And now that the flashbacks r over I can't wait for more!!
Your updates r smethng dat one can never get enough of...always leaving me wanting for more
