Chapter 14
The day Asad discharged from Hospital
"One month!! The hell one month I have to be in this bed. How could I? Ya allah!!" Asad gasped loudly. He was really frustrated by lying on the bed for last 4 hours. Sleep also eloped from his eyes. He tried to sleep but no work. Why not because all he does all these days are sleeping, sleeping and sleeping. It is frustrating to sleep all day long and stares at the night. In day all are working and you are lying that is not done. He was a hardworking man. He did not like to lie down lazily in the day. To escape from this situation he slept in the day but stared at night. Last 10 days he had one work though. What?! Work yeah if you call staring is a kind of work then it is obviously?! No!!
Now anyone have no doubt what or precisely whom he stared at? Of course no doubt his so called wife Mrs. Zoya Asad Ahmed Khan. He did not know from when he started to wait for her arrival in hospital at night. Anyone can see the understanding between them but these two idiots. So what happened between them that he was in this position? Well we need to go to the flashback.
------------------- FLASHBACK STARTS----------------
The evening at the first day in the hospital
Dilshad, Zoya and Nazma were waiting impatiently for Asad to regain his consciousness. It had been 12 hours but there was no news about it. Dilshad was getting nervous by that time. Habib also came there after taking proper rest. He helped them in every possible way. He did not know why he liked that arrogant, young architect.
The door of the ICU sprung and the doctor gave them the good news. Asad regained his consciousness and all other things were well. He smiled at them and said they can go to meet him after he transferred to the cabin. They all thanked doctor.
Zoya was in her prayer when all entered Asad's cabin. He looked so pale and vulnerable that Nazma broke down just by her one look to him.
"Bhaijaan!! We got so scared. Oh!!" She ran to him.
"Auuch!! Behave Tamatar. Your scream will kill me for sure." Asad tried to crack a joke.
"Asad!!" Dilshad chided.
"What is all this? How can you tell this? We were almost lost you sometimes ago, if it was not Zoya then..." Dilshad trailed off.
"Zoya? How is she? Is she okay? Did they do any harm to her? Where is she?" Asad was very excited when he found her nowhere in that room. All of them also searched for her but she was not with them.
Nazma went to search her and Dilshad stayed with him. After a while doctor came to check him and called Dilshad out to discuss something.
Asad closed his eyes "why he reacted like that?" That's a question he asked himself for many times and like all the times he got no answers. He heard the opening sound of the door but did not open his eyes.
"Mr. Khan!! Are you sleeping?" said a voice. His eyes fluttered open to meet another pair of red, puffy, brimming eyes. He stared at her for sometimes.
"No. I am not. Why are you crying? I am okay now." He assured her. She nodded and sat on the chair near the bed.
"Are you okay? How about your cheek?" he tried to look at her narrowing his eyes.
"Allah Miyan!! What's wrong with you? You are the one who is lying on the hospital bed and you are asking about my heath. I am okay." Zoya was irritated.
"Zoya, you can't answer of any question easily, can you?" Asad huffed.
Zoya's eyes went wide; again he was initiating a fight but then smiled. They are back to the square. The most normal thing of their relationship is back. That means Asad was really normal.
"I am okay" she said sheepishly. "How are you feeling now?"
"Great as much one can enjoy lying on a hospital bed. It is very enjoyable you know and all the credits go to you. Thank you." Asad blurted but realized he was not supposed to tell the last two lines. It came out of his habit. He always tries to put all the blames on her in their usual fight.
Zoya's eyes again filled with pain and guilt. "I am really very sorry, Mr. Khan. I...I..." Zoya choked.
"No...please no...I am sorry Zoya. For what I told, I did not mean it. It is just out of habit." Asad said to her hastily.
Zoya again nodded and said "Thank you for saving my life."
Asad nodded and closed his eyes again. The pain was again rising. He needs some rest.
"Why you are frowning? Is there any problem?" Zoya's eyes scrunched in confusion.
"No...Yes I think the pain is rising" Asad told in a shaking voice.
Zoya ran for asking a doctor on top her lungs.

Doctor discussed some serious cases of stabbing with Dilshad. He said all the details and point out some problems of that.
"Most of the stabbing cases trailed some mental influences on the patient. One of them is sudden pain out of now where. Another is fear. They always thought someone wants to kill him or something that can be related with bad dreams. We don't know if he will suffer from it or not. We just wanted to inform you if any of that happened to him then don't panic. Just try to wake him up from the dream or thought. But if that become too frequent then you need to consult with a psychiatrist.
One another thing, don't force to remember him about the incident because this can work as a trigger and can cause mental pressure. Otherwise all is great with him. I must say he is a strong person. After all these severe executions he recovered quickly and seems he is doing well."
Doctor looked up to Dilshad and saw her moistened eyes.
"Yes he is strong. He was always strong. He needed to be strong all the way." She said with her sad voice.
"Well I think that's it for now. We will observe him for next few days. He needs rest for sometimes about 1 month or so. I think it will go right." Doctor concluded. Dilshad was going out to the room when a nurse barged in the room.
"Patient's blood pressure is too low and his pupils dilated. A sudden pain raised and he was short of his breath" Nurse answered the unasked question of the doctor.
"Oh! God! I was thinking about this. Let's go quick. He probably going to get a shock attack" Doctor ran to the cabin.

When Asad saw Zoya in his cabin he was rewinding the entire incident that happening. Then when he saw her tears he became restless.This gave him a mental pressure and he had an attack.
Zoya again started to cry loudly. She was there with him and again she blamed herself. Dilshad tried to clear her whole problems that doctor had said to her but she failed terribly. She cannot make Zoya understand anything And Zoya again escapes from there. She cannot go after her as she had to wait for doctor. Nazma was also not there at that instant as went to buy some injections that doctor had told.

Zoya again came to the prayer room. This time, shouting loudly to Allah. "Why you always put me in this situation, when I try to believe myself that maybe I can happy but you snatches all the time. When I want to believe about not to be jinxed, you do something bad and failed me. I have always trust you, then why you snatches all my trust from everyone including myself. Am I that bad? Then why will not you take me away and spare him. He has a family. His family needs him badly. Please have mercy on me! I want to him to live happily. I want a chance to fix up everything in my life. All these fears, thinking that of living without him is pissing me off. I don't know why, but when he was in danger I felt I am nowhere. I don't know why I want to come out of my fear and want to come out my shell. I don't know why but I want him to be happy, I don't know why but I want to make him happy. Please make him better. Don't take him away from us. 24 hours ago I was not sure about it but now I want to live with him for rest of my life."
Zoya prayed up to when Nazma placed her hand. "He is stable now. He is sleeping. Doctor said this is common problems of this case. Let's go home now. It's almost midnight. Ammi will stay here."
"I am not going anywhere without him. I put him in this situation and I will bring him back to home healthy and hearty. You and Ammi go home. I will stay here with him." Zoya said with a stern voice.
Dilshad had not agreed with Zoya at first. She said that Zoya also need rest otherwise she will be sick. But Zoya was unfazed.
"You are also sick Ammi! You can't stay here. I don't want anyone to be sick because of me. I will be alright." Zoya said her again.
"You are so stubborn! You know that. Okay stay here. Of course call me if any problem is here." Dilshad gave in finally.
"I will."

Asad was sleeping peacefully. Zoya looked at his face. She never feels so calm and content
looking at him. She felt something in her heart. A dull ache rose from nowhere in her mind. He was so rude with her all the time but he was so caring and concerned about her in every bad situation. He never left her alone. He wanted to give her safety but she denied it every time. But from now she wanted to give him reassurances, happiness.
She turned off the light and sat on the bed beside his head. She stroked his hear and listen his even breathing, then again looked at his face. The light of moon and the faint light from corridor were coming to the room. But this is enough for her to do her work.
He was really handsome. He has sharp nose, big eyes, and chiseled jaws. He was not a man of so many words but his expressive eyes show that all. With that thought she brushed his eyes with her hand. Asad stirred and frowned in his sleep. His head moved from the pillow to a comfortable one, Zoya's lap. The lazy lines of his forehead eased as soon as he found it. Zoya smiled inwardly. He is looking like a child.
"Be well soon, I am not going to leave you anywhere, you hear that Akdhu." She mumbled to his hear.
He did not listen to her but she felt light. She is not leaving him no matter what. She clasped his stretched hand and slept that way.

Asad wake up in the next morning and found him jammed in to something. He opened his eyes and saw Zoya's both hand was wrapping him. His head was on her lap, her one hand was on his left hand and other hand was on his forehead; her forehead also touching his, on her hand.
"Incredibly foolish!! She did not think about any consequences and did anything. She will get back pain and also having no shawl covering her. What will I do to her?" he thought. "Zoya" he called out.
Zoya jolted up. "Yes. Do you need anything?" she asked, embarrassed.
He nodded and said "water."
Zoya gave him water.
"Why you are here? You should take rest. Where is Ammi? Why are you sleeping like this?" He asked after gulping the water.
"Who...emmm...Ammi is in home. She had an attack some days ago then how can she stay here? So I sent her." Zoya stammered.
"Okay. But Nazma could be here; you could go home and take rest, no?" Asad chuckled.
"Allah Miyan. Here start the enquiry of Mr. Bond again" Zoya gasped. She could not answer this question.
"What?! You called me Bond?" Asad asked casually enjoying Zoya's flushed face.
"Yes. Mr. Jasus Ahmed Khan" Zoya said cheekily and settled her on the bedside chair.
36 hours before, both of them could not even think of this normal type conversation with each other, one incident just changed their whole view.
They chit-chat for sometimes and fell on sleep again. Asad on the bed, Zoya having her head on the bed.

Again Asad woke up before Zoya and stared at her beautiful face. Did his heart skip a beat?
The staring session starts and continues rest all days in the hospital.
