For the first time in his month old marriage, Arnav felt like something was seriously wrong. He would be the first to admit that he was a difficult man. The more someone tried to understand or show concern for him, the more he pushed that person away in any way he could. Arnav had tried his hardest to do the same with Khushi but it was different with her. He realized very early on that he felt something for Khushi and that had scared him. So staying true to the ASR image, he tried his hardest to hate her. He did everything from letting her fall from his office to throwing her out of his car at odd times of the night but every single time he had ended up hating himself for hurting her. Thanks to a couple of misunderstandings, a scumbag brother-in-law and a kidnapping he had finally realized he needed her and how important it was for him to have her love him as well.
The day he had properly married Khushi had been the happiest day of his life. Although he still felt he didn't need a piece of paper to confirm his love for his wife he had gone along with every single ritual that would make him her husband. Of course they still fought like cats and dogs but every night he made sure the fight was over and done with before they slept. Even if it meant apologizing and taking the blame for things that weren't necessarily his fault.
This time was different though. They were fighting without actually fighting. Arnav had felt pure rage when he had seen the DNA report in his wife's hands. He had yelled at her and stormed off but at night when his wife had tried to snuggle with him he had responded and held her as she fell asleep. Both of them had chosen to ignore the tension lingering in the air.
Looking at his wife's face Arnav realized they needed to talk about the DNA report. Maybe that was why she was upset. Arnav began to walk off the court but was stopped by Aarav. Giving in the boy's pleas he decided to finish the game before speaking to his wife. Arnav looked at his wife and seeing that she still wouldn't look at him, he ran off the court toward his wife. Khushi could see her husband coming towards her and stood up. Arnav chuckled as he watched his wife stand up and fidget in her typical Khushi manner. Ignoring his family's questions, he placed his hands around his wife's waist and kissed her. Letting go of her he couldn't help but laugh seeing his shocked wife looking straight into his eyes.
"Chote?!"
"Relax Di. It was only a good luck kiss."
Running back to the court, Arnav looked back at his blushing wife. She was still standing but she was finally smiling at him. He felt a wave of relief wash over him. Arnav smiled back knowing very well it was the calm before the storm.
