"WATCH OUT!"
Khushi quickly raised her arms to catch the basketball thrown at her. The impact of the throw surprised her, making her take a step back to absorb it. It wasn't that she wasn't into the game in fact she had been trying her hardest to make her presence felt on the court. It was the look that had caught her off guard.
The look her husband had shared with his ex-girlfriend while his wife was standing a few feet away. The way they had looked at each other for those few seconds had hurt her for reasons she fully did not yet understand. It was like they had shared something only between them and that upset her.
Khushi could hear her family members cheering behind her, she could hear Sheetal urging her to run towards the net but she only had eyes for her husband. Khushi could see Arnav standing a few steps behind Sheetal with a smirk on his face. She felt as if he was waiting for her to make a fool of herself already so he could continue playing the game with the ones who actually knew who to play.
Khushi glanced at the people surrounding her and felt a rush of anger. The only reason she had even decided to play this stupid game was to make her husband forget about the DNA incident and be okay with her. She wanted her Arnavji to be happy playing with her, not Sheetal who seemed to be hell bent on showing off her skills and body.
Arnav watched his wife throw the basketball to the ground before she started to walk off the court. He caught her arm as she walked by her and realized his wife's cheery mood had vanished. She seemed to be more annoyed than angry.
"Khushi?"
"I don't want to play anymore. I don't know what I was thinking I don't even know how to play."
Khushi brushed Arnav's hand off her arm and walked towards the members sitting on the bench. She saw her husband still staring at her with a confused look. In any other situation she would have smiled at him but this time she chose to look away.
