PART 4
Earlier that day
Vikrant's residence:
Sarita came home after an increasingly irritating and frustrating conversation she had with RajJi. She tried to reason with him over and over again. But it felt like she was talking to a wall. This unreasonable obsession he had for her, blinded him so much that he was unable to see truth and reason. She was flabbergasted by his behaviour and literally lost all the respect she had for him. She was unable to process the fact that he would stoop so low.
She knew that she was partly responsible, if not entirely, for his current behaviour. But what could she do? She saw how emotionally unstable he was in Mumbai, when he resorted to threatening to jump off the roof. She tried to handle the situation, as best as she could then. She could not ignore the fact that Divya was involved in this mess. She was innocent and did not deserve the heartache that was coming her way. Oh how she wished there was an on/off button for human beings as well. So that she could turn off her emotiins and did not have to worry about a person whom she was married to for 10 long years and just move on. But she could not do it. She wanted RajJi and Divya to lead a happy life. They deserved it after being apart and heart broken for 10 years. So that led to her first lie, when she said that she loved him and would do whatever he asked her to.
It was all so confusing and frightening for her. On the one hand she had her ex husband threatening to commit suicide. And on the other hand was her husband, Mr. Suryavanshi, who had trust issues with her. He would not believe a word that came out of her mouth. She was in such a difficult place. She did not have anyone whom she could confide in.
That was until Divya uncovered the truth and confronted her. After they cleared the air between them, Divya was ready to cut her losses and move on, as she did not want to live in a loveless marriage like her. Now she wished she could undo that mistake of hers. She must have let her move on. But no! She decided to play god and wanted to make RajJi see the love he had for Divya. What was worse she made Divya her co conspirator in the plan she hatched. All the while knowing that heartache and pain was going coming Divya's way.
They commited a terrible error in judging RajJi. He was not the same RajJi who loved and cared for his sisters and parents, inspite of his loveless marriage to her. This new RajJi was ruthless, cunning and would go to any length to achieve his goal. His goal right was to elope with her to Dubai. She had to do something about this current situation and make him see what he was about to lose. Before it was too late for him and Divya and before he lost all the respect, dignity and love his family held for him. Before it destroyed all the relationships and in the process destroyed all the progress she made with Abhi and Mr. Suryavanshi.
Oh how she wished she had someone whom she could confide in, someone who could understand her dilemma. She wanted a shoulder to cry on. Someone who would set her right and would give her sound advice. Someone who would lift the burden off her shoulders. Someone would hold her when she wanted to bawl her eyes out. And she knew the answer to all these questions...Mr. Suryavanshi!
Theirs was nowhere near a picture perfect marriage, initially. It was more like a business arrangement. He married her since his son considered her his mother. And she married him to free Shiela from Rohan's evil clutches. Their married life kicked off on a shaky ground. The Mumbai trip was dreadful to say the least. But amidst all this the only thing that mattered to her was Abhiman. He showered her with unconditional love and affection, which gave her the inspiration to be positive in life. She shed all her sorrows and unhappiness and started to shower him with the same amount to love and affection she recieved from him, if not more.
With Abhi's happiness being their common goal, things started to gradually change for the better between Mr. Suryavanshi and her. She started seeing him in a new light. He was more relaxed now. He was naughty, funny, caring, understanding and most of all he was kind hearted. Beneath the hard exterior was a person who cared for his family very deeply and would go to any lengths to make them happy. She smiled a lot now, for no particular reason and was very happy beyond belief. She knew that he was the reason behind this and ofcourse her little prince charming, Abhiman.
She was very much attracted to him as well. It took her a while to acknowledge this fact. She had butterflies in her tummy whenever he was around or close to her. She trouble concentrating on her work whenever he was around. It was not just the physical attraction, she could kind of relate to him emotionally as well. Though he would not speak to much, his eyes spoke volumes which she could understand.
She understood where he came from and his reason for having trouble in trusting people. She knew that it took a lot of effort on his part to open up to her and place his entire trust in her. Which was why the guilt of keeping him in the dark was eating at her for the past few days. It was high time she confided in him about what was happening. With this thought and a determination to her stride, she went towards the living room in search for him. When she did not find him there and in the study as well, she went to look for him in the bedroom. He was not there either.
Just when she was wondering what to do, a tiny little bundle of joy, came barrelling towards her and enveloped her in a tight hug.
"Momma, you are home!" he shouted with glee.
"Yes I am prince. I am sorry that I got delayed! Did you have lunch? " she asked him.
"Yes momma. Daddy and I ate out today when we went shopping for your gifts!"
Sarita gave him a puzzled look.
He said"Oops, the secret is out!" and smiled at her sheepishly.
He told her how it was his dad's idea to surprise her with gifts, to organise a treasure hunt. It was their way of thanking her for all she did for them. She was so overwhelmed with joy listening to him speak. She mentally thanked god for giving her such a precious husband and son. She had tears of joy running down her face.
"Will you help me hunt for the gifts, my prince?" She asked and he was uber delighted to help her. Slowly they found one gift after another. They found all the gifts but for the most important one, that was lying under her clothes in her cupboard. Abhi was chattering non-stop all the while.
He stopped suddenly and said "Momma, I fotgot to tell you something very important. I won the award for the best performer for my role as a joker"
"Wow, Abhi! That is wonderful. Congratulations, my boy! " she said hugging him and showering him with kisses all the while.
"Wait momma. I will bring the trophy and show it to you" he said and ran away before she could respond.
She took the opportunity to call Mr. Suryavanshi only to get no response from his end. She tried calling him a couple more times and the call went unanswered again. Assuming that he night be in an important meeting, she did not want to disturb him by calling him repeatedly. "This has to wait until he gets home" she sighed resignedly.
She went about looking dor Abhi. She played with him, got him to complete his homework, prepared dinner, all the while a huge smile playing on her face.
It was dinnertime and Mr. Suryavanshi was not to be seen yet. She got Abhi to have dinner, made him change into night clothes and put him to bed.
She went to her bedroom to change into her nightwear, when her phone started buzzing. She was tensed when she saw that it was RajJi calling. She answered the call on the fourth ring. He asked her to meet him at 1AM at Gandhinagar chaurasta. She repeated the location and time, dumbstruck and interrupted him to show her displeasure, only for him to disconnect the call abruptly. All the while unaware that Vikrant had unintentionally evesdropped on her conversation.
She saw Mr. Suryavanshi enter their bedroom. She sported a huge smile despite being unsettled after the phone call she just recieved. He was unusually quite and went about with his work.
She tried to grab his attention by initiating a conversation. She had to spill everything out before things went spiralling out of control.
"Mr. Suryavanshi, dinner is ready. I will lay the table for you. Actually I wanted to have a conversation with you over dinner"
" I am not hungry. I have a lot of work to catch up on and I wish to not be disturbed tonight." he growled out and left the room with his ipad and phone.
She did not understand what just happened there. All she knew was that time was running out. She paced about the room wondering what to do next. She knew that she had talk sense into RaJi, even if it meant hurting him with the truth and facts. This was it. No more molly coddling him!
She patiently waited for Mr.Suryavanshi to come out of the study the next one to two hours. When there was no sign of him emerging from the room, she resorted to writing him a note.
It said..
Dear Mr. Suryavanshi, I am going to Gandhi Nagar Chourasta to meet RajJi at this ungodly hour. I know that you will have a lot of questions after reading what I just wrote. I will come back and explain things to you at the earliest. I assure you that I will never break the trust you have in me. Hope you will understand and give me a chance to explain my actions. I am only sorry to have not confided in you earlier. Looking forward to having the conversation with you.
Sarita
She folded the note and placed it on his nightwear which she had placed on the table earlier. She grabbed her purse and left hastily, unaware that Vandana entered her room stealthily. With a purely evil smile, Vandana grabbed the note that was placed by Sarita and read it. She crumpled it and threw it in the trash can lying next to the table. She smirked saying "I did not have to do anything, Sarita. You dug the ditch for yourself. Now I am going to sit back and enjoy the drama that is about to unfold. I cannot wait to see the pain that is going to come your way, in leaps and bounds" Her viscious laughter held no mirth at all.
Sarita on the other hand was about to reach the location, unaware that the heartache she dreaded Divya might go through, was coming her way after all.
To be continued...
