I am seduced, alright!
And only by this glimpse of a chapter.
I felt like it was over before I even blinked!
Expel. For once I feel like my words are inadequate really, to tell you all of what i am feeling.
Its like I have opened another closet and this new expel adventure: Renovation of Sheesh Mahal, awaits me. The vivid descriptions of the mahal in its half-ruined glory, are just BELISSIMO. I want to be there, doing what the kashyaps are doing! What Kay's job is! If I ever did sit through 4 years of engineering or 5 years of architecture, it would be for stuff like this. So thank you for unknowingly (or knowingly 😉) writing about something so so dreamy.
The knowledge of local art form..that you weaved in, it almost felt like u are from Lucknow! Like you knew Muzamil chacha's family tree like the back of your hand, both chandelier from that tiny shop in Aminabad. I cant seem to look past these tiny details. I am in awe really, who arnav who kay?
Than you brought in more characters! Nayeem and Lava are together already! YAY. No fuss there it seems. And lol at their last name being "KASHYAP" so much more UK! And fancy as compared to good ol' "sharma".
Than in your expert EXPEL way, you bring in IPK, modify a scene I was not very fond of at all. You know the one where lava "HAS TO LEARN" to be more indian by doing chickennn-kari. Well I love how in this she WANTS to! And now I am truly jealous of Kay and all her million skills. Damn she is seducing me just by being this freaking talented. And this is where the promo comes in too right? "Hum apne kapde khud banate hai or something". PERFECT.
I love how you began with Arnav in the small dusty room, in the housekeeper's quarters, looking through the stained glass...and paint him as a picture of melancholy. Another aspect of ASR we hardly get to see. Again I feel so much more than I can say at this point, so I will shut up.
I sound like a total looney, but I get that. The feeling of being seduced by the air the nature the night. Obviously I dont relate it to "Orange Gota Dress wali", just that how beautiful the world we live in is, sometimes.
I am loving this strangely "bold" kay. Who is NOT shying away from "studying" him. Much like secrets, she intrigues me more than him.
I love that a "glimpse" is enough, to make A think about her for 2 weeks (or well try NOT to think about her 2 weeks!). Something that makes no "sense", but is magical nonetheless. This explains exactly how they can jaadu hai nasha hai with such ease, no?
And so they fall into easy conversation for two strangers, who says u need to get into some kind of "conflict" to start talking, huh? Well only like all the shows on indian tv, but still. I love it love it love it. It reminds me of that new years eve scene that I sent you, you know where they are having a conversation and she asks him questions that genuinely stump him, just like here "why do you shut yourself off from the world". OH EXPEL. I LOVE THIS. TALKING without thinking or analyzing. Going with the flow. Favouritest rabba-vey i wish existed bas. It is so so refreshing to meet this Kay, and even this A.
But yeh kya as always the kabab me hadi had to interrupt no?
And than u decided to leave us on the 1 year old cliff.
But I cant be bothered thinking about all that, not even about how Raizada is so regretfully, and trying to make up for something by renovating the sheesh mahal. How K is so different, from her meek blushing self, when it comes to A. And what agenda is K on? Did her past involve the sheesh mahal in some way, cause it doesnt seem like A+K know each other from the bachpans! So why come out of hiding, now?
But I dont care about these questions. Not right now.
I just want to be in this chapter. It was perfect. And I am glad you are back, and you really ought to change your name from expelliarmus to Amortentia!
