What a lovely change from your usual style of writing Jenny! You do very well with different timelines and eras and this, whilst being a departure from your brand of historical romances, is still dated and staunchly belongs in the past.

I love how the chapter is overcast with the shadow of mystery! It's very noir-esque, what with how the scene is set - you have your smokey bar, your dancers, and street lamps in the night. Of course not forgetting, sex and death. All the elements are there for a perfect noir tale.

Am I looking forward to it? You betcha. Khushi should be afraid. Very afraid. He's a dangerous, vengeful man who doesn't hesitate to pull out his gun on anyone who's double-crossed him. And he's determined to have his way with her. What is she going to do?

You captured the gritty man persona and feisty but in trouble girl so well.

love your descriptions that help one form vivid pictures of the setting in one's mind... the feisty Khushi fighting for her self-respect and dignity despite the common notion patrons have was really a wonderful sight... Arnav is drawn to her even if he won't admit it... that sense of danger and leashed power emanating from him reminds one of those protagonists of film noirs... the revelation that he supposedly killed his cheating wife and her lover adds to that feeling... also keen to know who the person awaiting Khushi at home is and of whom she is scared... an intriguing beginning!
