Hi, Nafisa... hope your exams are going well

The first few words themselves indicate that Arnav seems to be on one of his jealousy-fuelled rants even if he can't admit it to himself... and all because Khushi said a simple Good Morning' to the person at the check-out counter! No wonder she is so puzzled by his unreasonable behaviour. He building a wall to guard his heart is understandable, given the propensity of some people to befriend those with connections. Sometimes, when he reflected on their time together, he would think that perhaps it was this fact, the fact that she presented a walking, talking vulnerability, that had evoked this...desire...to be by her side. To look out for her. That had instigated his protective instinct into permanent activity around her... beautiful play of words... Arnav's protectiveness is cute, especially given that Khushi is completely ignorant of it. Hmmm, the things that draw her to him are the very things that he fears are dangerous to her well-being. And he had grown to love her uninhibited capacity for compassion. But it also meant that she was as blind as a bat when it came to subtleties, or implications, or ulterior motives... he feels she hasn't noticed him hovering around her... how can he be so sure? Maybe, she has noticed but is keeping quiet as she isn't sure of his feelings... he does admit that he hasn't expressed his feelings for and to her. The glimpses of his lonely existence remind one of Richie Rich, the poor little rich boy! 'I don't recall him wishing me a good day when I paid for my drink- or anyone else for that matter.' That is no reasoning... people respond to a smile or a greeting, and I am sure that Arnav must have been glaring direfully at that kid! His sudden smooch and her speechlessness, followed by her stuttering acceptance of his directness were cute... at least each now has some notion of what the other feels for him / her.

This was beautiful.
She's everything he's not.
His not so subtle attempts to let her now of his intentions.
But she knew him better.
Pressed all the right buttons and got the expected reaction.
Though her own reaction was amazing too.

As always loved your detailing.
Well written.

Umm...I'll have to say, this one was passable. Sorry but it was just that. :/

Gotcha, didn't I? 😆

I loved it, dammit! I had the largest of grins on my face while reading it...as alwaysss (sings in bored monotone :P ) I mean, that what I always say and you're probably even bored of hearing that but it's true. That's what happens. Always!!!

I realised that it is an entirely different experience to see an unreasonable Arnav. I guess that's because one always expects him to be reasonable so this has a different kind of thrill to it...to see him like this...especially out of jealousy and possessiveness. It was fun! 😉

I think you did a real good job describing Arnav's thoughts especially because I could relate to it, particularly a certain bit because I really find it hard to open up to people (no, you aren't on that list 😉) and it takes a lot of effort on my part and MORE than that on the other side 😆 to do that.

I loved how confident Khushi it. Really, really loved how you shaped her character even thought this is an OS. Arnav's thoughts gave us a fairly detailed picture of her.

Anddd then there was the small bit of mush and fluff thrown in making it all perfect. Gosh! You are so good. The more I think about your writing skills, the more I appreciate them :D

Thank you for writing and sharing this. It was the perfect end to my very tiring day :)

PS - you have a thing for libraries? Just curious.
