Chapter 29

Manvi turned to her side and pulled her knees closer to her chest, her mind was starting to wonder about many unpleasant things, but she didn't want it... She wanted nothing but him to hold her, she was in a fragile state and there will nothing comforting like his arms around her... however the empty feeling evolving around her made her eyes moist and the tears slid down silently... Their kiss running in her mind and a sob escaped her tightly pressed lips. Manvi stiffened for a moment when she felt the bed lower and the switch of the night lamp click, the room was only lit with the moon's silver lining when she turned to look at Virat as he circled his arms around her waist. She blinked clearing her vision and felt his fingers caressing her cheeks maybe cleaning up the tears, she moved forward to hug him as he tightened his hold on her.

They didn't sleep for long hours, both of them were not in state to fall asleep but they didn't speak too. Manvi wanted him to speak up but Virat was still confused about his relationship with her, he didn't understand why his emotions and actions were so uncontrollable around her. Why his mind shuts and his heart does all the working and mostly why he was so afraid of losing her so much that he just didn't want to stay away from her.

Manvi raised her head and looked at Virat who was lost in his own world, his expressions were hard to read and Manvi wondered what kept him so occupied. She repositioned her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat and playing with the fabric of his kurta. She thought about the days where she would die to just make him spare a look at her... The clocked ticked away and Manvi eyes lids were starting to get heavy and that was when Virat made her sleep on the pillow, making her pout.

"Kya hua?" she mumbled,

"Shh.." he silenced her and then took hold of her hand, wrapping his long fingers around her petite hand,

"Manvi... after whatever I told you today..." He paused, not knowing what to say and then sat up straight on the bed making Manvi copy his action. "After knowing almost everything about me... Do you really still love me?" It was tough for him to voice such a question he needed to know and asking was the best option of all,

Manvi stared at him wide eyed, his question had stunned her and it even made her think if he had been thinking about this for so long,

"Aap yeh..."

"Manvi just say yes or no..."

"Why do you get angry on everything?"

"I am not getting angry I just want you to answer my question,"

"Maine aap se tabhi..." She paused, why was it so hard for him to trust her?' "I told you earlier..."

"I want you to answer my question..."

Manvi sighed, she was tired she wanted to sleep and this was not the time for all these talks, but she didn't mind saying it... she had always been a girl who speaks her heart out and telling him about her love wasn't a hassle.

"Virat ji your past didn't and won't change what I feel for you... mein aap ko kai se sam jaun..." she looked at him feeling helpless but he was determined to clear all his doubts,

"So if I ask you to marry me will you get married to me?"

"Virat ji..." She was confused... she will of course get married, people get engaged to get married. Didn't they?' "Of course I would... why do you think I got engaged to you?" she was angry, however she didn't forget to keep her tone down.

"Then get married to me!"

Manvi was speechless now... she blinked and then stared... was he serious? He proposed her for marriage at...' Manvi looked around then deciphered the time on the clock, 10 minutes pass 2am, in her room and on her bed?'

"Virat ji..."

"Yes or no?"

"Aap..."

"Yes or no?"

Neither did Manvi speak nor answer and that was making Virat go crazy, he got off the bed and struggled to get his footwear on, the ran his hand through his hair, he was about to walk away when Manvi reached and held his arm,

"I will..." her two words brought him so much relief that his eyes closed with a sigh,

Manvi made him face her as he opened his eyes to look at her,

"You will?" he asked again,

"Yes I will..." she repeated and chuckled when he gave a full fledged smile... her favorite, they both leaped and embraced each other, happy and hopeful about their future. Virat hopeful about making his incomplete life complete and Manvi hopeful to be blessed with his love and affection.
